  1. Hurrrrray...... Thanks, TLG! But where are the pneumatic cylnders? But we can handle that with replacments....
  2. Effe, would it be possible to design those little fellows? Thanks!
  3. Awesome!!!! BTW: There are some errors in the links, that are applied to the fotos!
  4. WOW! First, when I read something about ICARUS, I thought you crashed/smashed/destroyed this wonderful piece of art in the end, as also Icarus was using the wrong technology for the purpose of flying. And he crashed in the end. Thank god I was wrong!
  5. And when you press and hold the SHIFT key when using the right mouse-key, then the whole opbject can be moved sidewise without any rotation.
  6. Yup! Would be my first custom parts ...
  7. Thanks, Calabar, that help a lot. Above all my understanding of "decoration" was wrong. I always thought, that a sticker means decoration. But I now understand, that decoration means a fix print on the brick. thanks again!
  8. Yes, I could try to put all the bricks, I might to put some decoration on, into a new lxf, export it as a lxfml and check, if there is a decoration entry in the xml-structure. But I was just guessing, that there might be a simpler possibility.
  9. I want to do some custom decoration of my models, but want to find out, which parts can be standardwise decorated at all. Is there a possibility to find out? For example: in the 8258 crane truck, the #T=C&C=5"]1x11 liftarm in the front is decorated with a sticker. Still, in LDD it is not ment to be decorated: <Brick refID="0" designID="32525"> <Part refID="0" designID="32525" materials="21"> <Bone refID="0" transformation="1,0,0,0,1,0,0,0,1,-4.4000000953674316,0.40000000596046448,3.6000001430511475"> </Bone> </Part> </Brick> This leads to my question above. Thanks!
  10. Found a bug with the cross-axle pin and the linear actuator holder: EDIT: just updated the permissions of the pic on Flickr.
  11. Would it be possible to make thes female fellows also with an axle instead a pin?
  12. The two M motors power the remaining two original functions (stabilizers, crane rotation) very good. The pump can be activated via the original left switch (lever up), but that means the pump is driven through the whole drive train of the original setup. That means a lot of friction. The pump is working ok-ish. But you can hear and feel the strain of the pump, above all when the boom is extended and you want to rise the whole crane arm. The new cylinders itself are working perfect.
  13. So, after a while; I upgrade - besides the 8x8 - my 8358 also with a better crane, etc. It has three (instea of two) upper sections (based on an idea of BS-user Drakolder) is fully equipped with pneumatic (v2) and a compressor replaced the XL motor with two Ms (as the XL does not fit between the two rear differentials lengthwise and crosswise the two black 12T bevels could not take the torque) opening doors different seats (3 instead of two) ... Here are some impressions: ...... .... Details of the crane: ...... My idea behind that modifications is always the same: improve(d) functionality with the smallest possible change in the original appearance.
  14. A bad translation of a german saying: What you have, have you!
  15. @allanp: same with me. But that makes it really stiff. @zblj: soft, light, big offset of the rim. Pretty cool wheels.
  16. BTW, i did it that way, when using these hubs with the 8448 wheels. The 2er axle is in the hub and the wheel. Makes it pretty stiff. Here is a video of your idea:
  17. Wobbleing a bit?? It has more then one mm of play! ..
  18. Gentlemen, I did what you suggested: i rebuild the whole stuff from scratch. And now it worked out without any problems! Maybe, as I copied the basis of my (modified) crane from some source here in the forum, I messed something up. Now I am satisfied! Many thanks once again. ..... In real life, the crane folds even a little more, as the whole stuff has some play. Regards, Gerhard
  19. Wow! First of all: THANK YOU so much for your support! I have to say, this is my first model I am drawing with LDD, so I am not that deep into that application sofar. I want to use LDD as a sort of an archive for my models. I have build this crane already with real bricks and now want to recreate it in LDD to have it archived just in case I need to disassemble the crane for some other project again. Now to my laws: as the two inner (black) sections of the crane are just sliding in each other and the outer (yellow) section, there could be no "real" connection. Each inner section is just stuck in the outer section and only held in place by a black 12T double bevel gear. Is i that, waht you mean "it is just sitting in the air", bublibe? Concerning my "unnesseccary connections": in LDD you're right, but in real life, these conncetions made the crane remarkable stiffer. Regards, Gerhard
  20. Hi guys, i despair! Can some of you pros help me rotating that crane into an "upstrait" position. It should stay folded, but should "stand straight" on the turntable. The turntabel should be the lowest part. How can help me? 1000 Thanks! Gerhard 8258_Crane_boom_folded_Pneumatic.lxf
