  1. After two failed attempts to contact Lego via mail I just called them. A very friendly young lady was at the phone and she heared for the first time of that problems. She looked up the knowledge base and found the mentioned ppt-file. She just sent it by mail. Thanks, TLG! Regards, Gerhard
  2. News from Lego about the pneumatic problem, that makes them removing all 8110 packages after a couple of days end of June. I just had contact with the Lego-support. I explained them, that I have one of the very early modells (before the recall of all packages) and that I want to know what the pneumatic problem was. They then sent me a powerpoint presentation, that explained how to find out, if ones has a broken set. And it is NOT the pump, it is a problem with the small pneumatic-cylinder in the claw. That is - at least for me - astonishing, as the mini-cylinder is a long time used part. These are basically the steps to find out, if you have a broken cylinder: 1) Switch on the pneumatic pump and bring the air to the rear PPTO. 2) Push the first two pneumatic controls upwards (the crain arm will raise and straighten completely) 3) Leave this two controls upwards and additionally push the third one (for the claw) downwards, leave the compressor running. If after 10 - 30 seconds the crane arm will lower, then the mini cylinder is defect and the customer should get a new one. I hope, this will help others and finaly will bring the last light into the known problem. Regards, Gerhard
  3. Here is the first two-way adaption for the 8110. Made by BS-user radar92. More pictures in his BS-folder. Regards, Gerhard
  4. Effe, you are mad.... I like the idea with the yellow warning lights! But why the h*** are you using two red bushes at the upper mirror mounting?? I want to see it on the Unimog itself!!! Regards, Gerhard
  5. Wow, really fantastic pictures! Very stylish and very bright! Regards, Gerhard
  6. Unfortunately I cannot find the article on focus.de anymore. Sorry....
  7. I know how a torsen diff works. But it still can not distinguish between turn and slip. So why adding one in between the two axles? Regards, Gerhard
  8. I have one of the very first modells. I got mine end of June. Afterwards TLG remove the Unimog from the shelfs, because something with the pump was wrong. So I just want one of the new ones. I don't know what they change... Regards, Gerhard
  9. Cool! I have some of them at my parent's house, but there are just some single pages left. So now I can reprint them! Thanks!!! Regards, Gerhard
  10. Cool! Would the new 8110-tires be too big? Regards, Gerhard
  11. @ mescalinum: Thanks for the explanation. I think your concept is pretty cool, as it triggers the locking mechanism not that fast. But I am still wondering how the torsen diff is working. I build one with technic Lego, and it did not work when turning. So I could not find out, how that stuff really helps. Regards, Gerhard
  12. Does anyone know, hoe I'll get one of the changed pumps? Lego is not answering my emails. Regards, Gerhard
  13. I am not quite sure, if he really splits it. I think he just uses the turning table as a basis to mount the lifting arm. Regards, Gerhard
  14. I just read some article on the German magazin "Focus.de" and suddenly saw that advertisment. It refers to a official lego-page called legomen.de. They obviously are now directly advertising the AFOL community. And here are some really interessting informations and pictures available: 60th Birthday of Unimog. Regards, Gerhard
  15. Here is the first mower: Build by BS-User Heino178. See more pictures in his Brickshelf-folder. Regards, Gerhard
  16. I like your idea and the transformation into real stuff! But I still don't understand the system "self-locking diff/automated diff-lock". How does the system distinguish between "normal" drive around a corner and slip due to different surface-conditions under the wheels? It cannot! That is also the problem with a torsen-diff. Example: Driving up a driveway into the 7th floor of a parking-house will cause the diff to work for a pretty long way as the turn is almost "never ending". How does the locking-system know, that this "slip" (for the differential it is slip as both axles will have different turn-rates) is wanted? It does not, so it will lock up. And then you'll have the tension in the drivetrain. That means I can get rid of the differential at all (or accept that I'll have slip in some special situations). Maybe you cann answer that...? Regards, Gerhard
  17. That is just fantastic! Only made with Lego, I am deeply impressed! Regards, Gerhard
  18. Of course you do! You are from the Netherlands! But I would also prefer Orange! It is a good color to use for many things! Regards, Gerhard
  19. Nice to meet you, Mr. Plow! How long did it take you to build this thing? Regards, Gerhard
  20. Sweeeeeet! Waiting desparately to see it implemented! Regards, Gerhard
  21. Hey, yeah! Sounds great! But where did you hear that??? A rock-Climber would be really cool! Regards, Gerhard
  22. Mmmh, I don't like that the motor is attached to the so called unsuspended masses. I should be attached to the frame. But good to know, that the whole thing is strong enough for motorization. Regards, Gerhard
  23. As obviously the sell of the modified Unimogs started all over the world, I am curious now, what exactly was the problem with the pneumatic pump. Did they produce new ones? How can I find out which of the pumps are the new (modified) ones? Nay news from TLG? Regards, Gerhard
  24. No, he does not mean the misalignment problem. He means that the suspension strut itself bends instead of suspending. With mine it works ok, but still the suspension strut bends a little, but it compresses. Regards, Gerhard
