Nice little mod you did there to the ship. Also glad to see your into lego again.The custom sails are cool how much were they? The only prob here is what alot of people call the clone lego brands. If you decide to invest more money in lego you will definitely see the poor quality of the knock off brands. Some people don't care but i think its best to atick with the offcial lego bricks.

Truly a work of art you have here. Like others have said so many details, takes a few times to look over. I love your custom hull, did an awesome job! I also like your cannons and bell. I have to agree with kurigan on the gallery/stern windows look a bit odd. You could always take lattace windows and instead of using the frame use a 1x1 knob brick to hold it in place, might be worth a shot. Also on the front rigging are you gonna add the net going across like the rear one? Anyways a well done project!

Nice ship dreamweb.I really like the grand stearn. The only critic piece I would change is the gray. Instead of all the gray on the bow and stern I would change it to black. Then I would add a gray stripe down the tumblehome, it looks like where the pre-fab hull rounds off you could continue a nice stripe all the way across from end to end. Anyways its a beauty and hope to see more!

So true I remember when I was a kid going to toysrus after christmas it was 94 going into 95 I had got porate sets for Christmas but I had some money so I bought Lagoon Lock-up which had been released in 1991. But then again toysrus always has left over sets aince they have a high mark-up. Well will have to hope for a good POTC line hopefully theres some noce ships in the new film or they male some for 1-4. -
The IFS from 2010 is impressive and a nice model, however now its ridiculously over priced. As others said you can take almost any ship out there and change the colors as well as the sails. But honestly the more you start to mod ships and enjoy that you will later on want to do an MOC ship. However thats what i wanted to do seeing all the amazing ships on this forum.I say of you have some extra hulls look at captain green hairs ship building tutorial and head over to briklink and buy the pieces you need. It will pry be cheaper then trying to buy a BSB or any other ship. And its alot more fun to create your own ship and!

I think Pirates in general has been becoming more and more popular over the years. Much thanks to the POTC franchise which has helped alot! The problem that is faced here is that everyone needs to look at the pirates theme from a childs point of view. Lego has a huge variety of themes now vs. The 80' and 90's. Also kids are pry getting Lego sets mostly for bdays and Xmas, so most kids now when going to the store want super heros,star wars, and ninjago etc. Also back in the 80's and 90's lego didnt have as many different themes as they do now so that would allow alot more sets per theme. Like others have stated I love the pirates theme but if it comes down to it every 6 years or so releasing a new theme im happy. The only thing is I wish theu would change it up, and now always do a small fort, big pirate ship etc.

Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions

I have always found better luck getting older pirate sets off ebay a better deal. If its a bid just put in your highest amount you would be willing to pay for that set. I've bought some sets from bricklink in the past the only thing I dont like is most of the time they dont have actual pics, so the set might not be as in good condition as stated. Also Ebay is good to see what the sets are going for in a bid to give you an idea for you to use bricklink and see what is a good price. Hope this helps. -
I don't know why everyone is complaining about the chess set being an army builder? If you guys wanna army build go to brick and pieces on Lego.com and order the piece from the sets. The blue coat torso is 69 cents i belive. Better to do that then go spend 50 bucks on a lame chess set.

Thanks everyone for the great comments and feedback, and not to fear but i'm currently working on a ship for my great Bluecoat army. I've been neglecting my poor blue coats so its time to raise them a decent Navy Fleet!

Hello everyone. It has been along time since I've posted any MOC's here. My last one was my ship the HMS Saint Matthews back in July of 2011. Well after that ship I went on to make 2 more which were made back in late 2011 early 2012. The HMS continental and the kingston were both made. I never got around to taking photos of them , but now better late then never I have took a bunch of photos of them as well as more of the Saint Matthews. I agree with what you said. Its so sad to see how lego has over half its themes licences.I think they saw success with star wars and went overboard making every popular movie into lego sets. It seems like pirates and other themes just are'nt popular, however lego doesn't do any justice by promoting them as well...

I think this line was alot better then the 2009 line, but I didn't really expect it to get anymore waves except for a DSC set by the begining of 2016 (hopefully). If so I hope to get a port with a small tade ship this time. Another imperial flagship would pry look like a rehash of the 2010 one, not that it was bad but I already bought a few of those and want something different this time around. Lego is alot different these days vs. The old days back in the 80'and 90's, most of the AFOL here like myself can see kids now are more into the whole super hero/fantasy and not into the good old pirtes,knights, and cowboys. I did enjoy the POTC line however I hate flesh figures. That was the only drawback to that line. Anyways hopefully we get atleast one more set before pirates goes back up on the shelf again, so we can only now keep are fingers crossed!

Great job so far elephant knight! I love the way you did the modular, easy to take apart and move if need be. My favorite building so far is the magistrate's office. It looks similar to governer swans house with that round driverway. You should put a fountain in where the green patch is in the front. It would make a nice addition. Looking forward to the progress!

Has anyone noticed in all these sets there are no cold coins, just jewels...Not a big deal but I think its just traditional to have the gold coin in the pirate sets.

Man these high res official pics have totally changed my thoughts on this line! IMO this line kicks butt out of the 2009 line for sure! The mini figs are all awesome and I kinda like the soldiers with the white emplauttes something new for a change.Also I like the new skull and sword logo, for some reason the 2009 line one seemed kiddyish to me.Anyways the sets are alot smaller but, the fort and ship are 10 dollars cheaper then the 2009 ship and fort so to me the prices aren't bad... Anyways I'll be picking up a lot of these sets when they arrive in stores! Does anyone know for sure if there going to be released in Jan. Or April?

Awhile back I showed my Coca Cola truck,I now have my Sysco Delivery Truck. Sysco for people who don't know is North America and Canada's largest food distributor. I'm sure if Lego did produce this set they would have to get some sort of lisence. But like lightningtiger said the soccer series had coca cola on there torso's of some of the mini figs. The other thing Lego could see to is the die hard Coca cola collectors who don't buy Lego would pry but this set for the Coca Cola brand logo.

So this past week I put together an American style Coca cola Freightliner delivery truck. This Is a build I've been wanting to do for sometime but never got around do doing so till now. Pry the biggest obstacle for this truck was making a real working lift gate which I seceded in! So now to display this Rig I thought instead of showing a few Pics of it, I would show you just exactly What it does on its everyday delivery route... So here it is enjoy!! So here we have the coke truck pulling into one of its stops here at the Pizzerea. Here you see my Lift-gate fully functional folds down and lowers and raises Now the delivery driver pulls out all the pallets to deliver Now time to dolly in all the soda Now time to collect the empty crates. Now to load back up the truck That's it off to the next stop! I think the best thing about this line is the figures. To me the most of the set designs are not very appealing to me. The other thing that I don't get is, why Lego doesn't have more minfigs with there big castle sets? Many old castle sets use to come with 12 figs ,4 horsemen,4 archers and 4 guards. I was suprised when I saw the new castle has a king, 1 knight, 1 guard, and 1 archer, and then 3 bad guys. I wish they would go back and basically make sets with one faction instead of mixing sets with 4 good guys and 3 bad... If these sets make it to a second wave I'm curious to see what other sets they woukd make. Like others have said I think the lion mascot needs to be laid to rest! If it was up to me I would like to see a crusader line silver and white knights with the red cross.... I can dream cant I!!!!!

Well it looks like I can stop dreaming of falcons and forestmen returning... Even though the pictures are small and are hard to see all the details the sets dont look that promising. Also when i looked at the kings castle at the top of the box it looks like it only has 7 minifigs... 3 bad and 4 good, i wish lego would start putting more figs in those large castle sets like they use too. Oh well before i really judge these sets I, like many of you want to see some better pictures. From what I can see now the line looks ok and im sure i'll pick up most of these sets anyways, some castle is better then no castle.
