Don't worry about upsetting people on Cuusoo, I surmise any museum would offend them if, they are making an issue out of it. It is appalling that anyone would not support a project based on their belief system. I've stated elsewhere that Lego is about Lego and nothing else. If you don't like it, don't buy it. It is as simple as that. Most people should know by now that any Cuusoo project will not be the same once it passes a review and produce it compared to the original design. At least you put a lot of thought into a design that should appeal to kids and AFOLs alike. I do like your dinosaur designs. I suspect you are correct. Lately been seeing a lot of people on Cuusoo complaining and criticising rather than contributing. Perhaps its a phase of a few individuals and it will pass. Usually I have found the Lego community is supportive rather than negative. Besides if your project was ever picked up these commentators would not matter once you make money off it.

True Kivi but to the inexperienced builder perhaps it is necessary. There is also another possibility, that using the set to build something else in the design phase they needed that extra part? Should we all ask TLG why it is there?

I had originally thought what Hey Joe said. I had assumed that they put it in there to stabilize the brick. Whenever I place a Brick on a baseplate like that it doesn't hold well because its in the centre with no support. I think the other reason is to act as a guide piece to its location on the baseplate as was mentioned. Lego rarely puts something in a set that doesn't have a purpose.

I so want the car transporter! That will be a sweet set. Hell why be picky, you know we will buy them all.

Thanks Lightning Tiger. Indeed there will be a proper interior. Thank you Kristel! Will do Eurotrash. I am thinking the roof garden will be great! I would like to include that feature but for the sake of simplicity I think I have to omit it. I really don't know what one would use for that. Thank you Esurient and Redhead1982.

That is awesome! I would prefer to build like that but as I do not have the parts available I would be acquiring them from scratch. Do you just purchase quantities of parts for a 'what if' scenario?

So I've been designing something new that I'm excited to put into production. Once I finish my design of course. But I wanted to see what people thought of it. These are two images of my Hermes Sellier store. It will be 2 floor building with a garden roof top. I've added a few items in the display window but for the moment I still have to think about the layout of the stairwell or elevator and the floors themselves. I think it's looking pretty good. Spent a whole afternoon trying to figure out how to get the trim right around the windows on the second floor only to realize I have to separate the second floor from the first for a proper modular building...anyhow I've made some adjustments to it naturally as there is way too much tan colour to the building as a whole. I wanted to spice it up a bit. The building itself is based on a building in Paris as shown below.

Actually Tom I do know. I was referring to the how Lego attributes number to various colours. That is the part I don't know.

I was quite happy to own the Recycling truck, Bank & Money transfer. These aren't as popular but a definite AFOL must have. (Really want the town square but drastically overpriced in Canada $150, a $50 mark up from the US price is horrible.) How cool would it be if they did make a post office in 2015?

I was speaking with TLG customer service. No definite colour numbers yet as its still too new but will likely be a new favourite colour for people. :) (Purposely not saying as I don't want to spoil the excitement.)

Loving the layout and your buildings Castor-Troy. I only hope mine will look as good as yours one day. Your harbour with the backyards from Market Street and the Police station are very nicely done! *drools*

Hey Timmyc, well I lucked out with that. There aren't too many people selling them on Bricklink. I managed to get mine used from a guy in Italy as I wasn't too sure about the dealers in Hong Kong. They seem to have quite a few but I am uncertain as to their authenticity. Even though my part was listed as used its pretty much mint condition. So I was quite happy. Right now I've had to stop as I am in desperate need of cash. I will have to make some sacrifices concerning parts. Buying 2x10 reddish brown bricks for example has proven elusive. Dealers on BL are charging too much in shipping and handling fees, not to mention the minimum order requirements for the sake of two bricks. I'm not paying $10 in fees for two bricks that are already overpriced at $3 each. As much as I wanted 1x8 Sand green bricks I think I will have to opt for 1x6 and 1x2 bricks instead. The build will be pretty consistent with those. The Bright blue bows on the Green Grocer is also an issue. Again same issue, $2-3 per piece and too much in the way of fees and shipping costs. The cat is difficult as well so I may have to swap it for the one from the Pet shop. Really I do not like have to change the integrity of the set as I wanted it 100% authentic. It's just harder to do without unlimited funds for certain parts. Maybe if and when I have more cash I will order the other parts to have it authentic but for now it so far hasn't been compromised. Rloesberg let me clean up a version for you and I will email it.

Excellent work Snaillad. I really enjoy your MOC buildings when you post them. Do you think you would ever share these creations on LDD? I loved your Avenue Saint-Jacques. Could you tell me if only a portion of that MOC opened up and the far left side was open backed like this creation?

I think the friends line is refreshing for the TLG. For many years girls I believe have been excluded from Lego as a toy of choice for them. I found both Daisy and The LegoDr's comments very insightful and exactly what we need to hear. They should be encouraged to pick what they want but also have some catering to them as well just as boys do. (Chima would be fair to say is a boy's line) In the end though kids will play with what they want. So long as there is a choice, I welcome it.

It's true that airports has become sidelined since the 2010 sets but in terms of making an airport. Is this not a possibility? This was an image I took off of the Lego commercial for the new Cargo sets. It looks pretty spacious to me. Incidently I noticed TLG using the same buildings in multiple commercials and the hand that holds the objects is a woman's hand not a kids. It's fun to analyse what they did to achieve it.

An Airport city firetruck would be cool. I missed out on the last one. As for the police sets, fret not! They are going to be very must-haves if they all will look like this: Personally I can't wait to get my hand on these.
-
I am pretty excited for the Lego Movie sets. The police look fantastic and will give those of us with City Sets a chance to own elite swat units. Any extra vehicles are always welcomed!

I'm really loving this creation. The interior I think looks fantastic! You've set the interior up nicely. I do like how you used the pipe piece for a bannister and what you did with the pantry in the kitchen.

Are you a member of a LUG? No, I only found out about LUGs last year. Currently I have no idea if there are any LUGs in Ontario. However I was heavily involved with the staff at my Lego store when I lived in the UK. Are you actively participating in your LUG? No, don't know if one exists. I don't think I would join one as I would prefer to be able to chat about Lego than helping with an event. Would you consider supporting more actively the online AFOL community (e.g. Eurobricks) as moderator, regulator (indexing, ...), making set reviews, etc.? I used to act as moderator in a few online games so it wouldn't be an issue to moderate a forum. I would love to write a review at some point. However what is holding me back is that I am quite busy trying to keep up with collecting and I don't give myself time to review sets. I would also need to have proper room to do my photography justice when creating images. I have been participating more regularly on these forums since May 2013. I'm into Star Wars and Town sets. Mainly, I love seeing what others have built and use that as inspiration to achieve my own take on things. Figuring out how they built it is what drives me. Unfortunately my Lego OCD won't let me mix my sets like I did as a kid. So any creations I wish to show off require me buying new parts, which of course requires more money than I currently have at the moment.

Loving this idea. Question, I was unaware of Lego making a lamp post piece in red. Is this a custom product?

Well I do have an idea of what one of the buildings colours will be and it is coming out next year. I will say that it will be a new shade, not something we have previously seen. On a different topic I was thinking Lego must be spending quite a bit on moulds lately. There seems to be more new parts than I've seen in years. I just hope they do not have a repeat of the 90's where they produced too many new part types.

Well done. It is challenging to consider keeping in certain details if possible or leaving them out. I know what you mean about the other side being different. There are only so many angles with photos on the internet. But a useful trick I found was to use google street maps to look at the building from that perspective.

According to this logic, which by the way is an astute observation, the Parisian Restaurant fits in with the Retail/Residential category. This means the 2015 will be a government building. Maybe a post office or bank? Or as someone else suggested a court house? Knowing TLG it will be a pleasant surprise. 2007 - corner, business - Cafe Corner 2008 - retail, residential - Green Grocer 2009 - government building - Fire Brigade 2010 - corner, business - Grand Emporium 2011 - retail, residential - Pet Shop 2012 - government building - Town Hall 2013 - corner, business - Palace Cinema 2014 - retail, residential - Parisian Restaurant 2015 - government building ??? 2016 - corner, business ??? 2017 - retail, residential ??? 2018 - government building ???

I'm getting so close to completion of these sets. So far I've made all the mini figures (with the legs on order for the kid), lack a few speciality pieces (1x8, 2x8, 1x10 bricks, Bright blue arches) and some commons plates and tiles mainly. I figure about $200 will finish them both off. I was quite happy that I managed to order sand green 1x2 bricks with grooves from Lego before they ran out again. A definite win there!

Ibecks, the Dark blue arches should be available I think in September or October 2013. The Winter Village release date is Oct 1st in N.America. I was a bit annoyed at paying 10 Euro for my arch as it was the last one and the same guy off bricklink managed to come up with another 124 of them at half the price I paid nearly two weeks later...I do not know where he acquired them.
