LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Tariq j replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Looks good so far. Here's hoping for more Clone Wars/PT sets. -
What is your favorite UCS Set of all time?
Tariq j replied to Midlife-crisis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Out of the ones I own I'd definitely have to say the Slave. The Lambda Shuttle would be a close second. -
It would be cool to get the dress slope piece for a Bellatrix Azkaban figure.
-
That's a tough one a Nebulon B would be awesome. But the Republic Gunship is one of my favourite vehicles from the prequels. I'd probably go with the gunship but either of the other two I wouldn't mind.

The use of the boat piece upside down for the Sail Barge is genius. Love the little attention to details here and there - the Bantha, R2 on the Barge.

Thack Desteck—Conclusion: Zandder Earns a yeet
Tariq j replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Great game everyone! And excellent job hosting Hinckley. The set pics looked great. -
Betrayal at Cloud City. I've been deliberating getting this one for a while now. I wasn't a huge fan when it was released but it's grown on me a lot more.

I also really liked the calendar. I actually found it better than the last 2 Star Wars calendars. I wouldn’t mind seeing some Diagon Alley stalls in the next one. Some good ideas and I agree. Things like the chess set, the statue and the Christmas Trees from this year can all be inter-grated into the current sets and don’t feel left out. Some other ideas I have: A student desk with a cauldron and a potion bottle. A greenhouse bench with some mandrakes on them. A four poster Gryffindor Bunk A pumpkin scarecrow

Star Wars VS In-House Space: Which do you think is better and why?
Tariq j replied to Lego David's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I don’t see this as a bad thing though. Even though LEGO do adhere to the films when it comes to the sets, kids will still create their own adventures and storylines with the sets and minifigures. They won’t just strictly stick to acting out the film’s storyline. I would have to say Star Wars but there have been some good offerings from the in house themes like Space Police. -
But with respect though, that’s exactly what an online forum is for. To do all of those things. When you make a post you should expect people to agree/disagree with you, to challenge your views, to analyse your posts, to say “actually, I don’t agree with you and I think this...”. I understand it can be annoying when you want to vent your frustrations and people disagree. As said above, it may have just come across as people trying to have a discussion rather than trying to attack your point of view.

Thack Desteck [Mafia Game] Signups
Tariq j replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
1.) Yep, should be available. 2.) The Phantom Menace obviously 3.) I defiantly think I have. -
Even though it feels somewhat smaller I love the exterior of both buildings. I agree with others that I think given the Bookstore aspect could have been more prominent and it would have been nice to see more book pieces here rather than tiles representing them.

That looks really good. I like the use of the LotR Rings door handles.

There’s some good stuff here. The Mustafar Duel is A bit of a disappointment given how good the Starkiller Base duel set was. It looks very blocky and 4+. The Sith Battle pack looks amazing . I feel like the Tatooine sets might’ve benefited from being one big set rather than two smaller ones. -
[MOC] 221B Baker Street from Sherlock (BBC)

There is so much good about this I don’t know where to start. I love the modular aspect of this and good use of SNoT for the speedy’s sign.- 6 replies

Pixar Animation Studios and Films Discussion
Tariq j replied to just2good's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I like the look of it so far. It feels like it’s going to have an Inside Out/Coco vibe which has worked in the past. I also love the New York setting.- 279 replies

Got round to seeing Joker. Really enjoyed this one. Lots of interpretation for the ending. I now really want an Arthur Flack Joker minifigure!

Shame it's not HP but still an awesome piece anyway. Apparently he also appears in the background in the Half Blood Prince Burrows scene when the trio are talking (albeit very briefly). So they could slip him into a Burrows set should one come along.

We did get Wuher in the Mos Eisley Cantina set so I guess you can never really say never but it's not a huge loss if we don't get him anyway. Rosier and Nagini could make great figures. Nagini could probably benefit from the current dress slope piece. Abernathy is oretty crucial to the plot of CoG but as said above he's not visually appealing and pretty much wears a suit for most of the film. I think Lavender Brown might be made at some point. I wouldn't also mind seeing Barty Crouch Sr. Plus the Patil Twins too.

LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Tariq j replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The Shuttle and the Falcon look excellent. The Hood piece would be very useful in more colours. I feel like the set could've included the doorway for the duel between Ben and Vader rather than the cannon. But its still a decent set. -
They’re doing a Lego Batman Movie sequel, so I think if they see a potential they’ll do one. Plus Warner Brothers own the rights to the films and some characters have appeared in previous Lego films so licensing shouldn’t be a huge issue. I guess it would depend on what the story would be on. Would it be set during Harry’s school years or focus on him as an adult. Either way it would hopefully give us some good sets.
-
And to add even hardcore Potter fans, who may not necessarily be fans of Lego, could still buy some of the smaller sets like the Knight Bus or the Advent Calendar.

If something is making a company money they will continue to sell it. Star Wars is no exception. You may think designs are getting repetitive but it’s those designs that are selling best among the core audience (kids). As mention above there’s a a lot of new material coming in that Lego can base sets off. Space Police 3, Galaxy Wars, Mars Mission. Hasn’t there been a whole wave of a Space sets released this year? Granted they were part of the City line but still.
