LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Tariq j replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It’s an alright wave. I’m excited for that Mandalorian Battle Pack. It’s a shame at the lack of RO stuff but hopefully in the next few years with the absence of new films we’ll see some more sets from those movies. -
I wouldn’t mind seeing the Battle of Endor as the next big playset. A new shield bunker, an AT-ST etc. I’d say most of the mini figures have been updated well since 2009 in other sets though. The last Ewok Village was close to perfect in design. Aside from some updated minifigures I don’t know what else they could add to it that isn’t already there.

Looks brilliant! I like the SNOT built table. -

The new hood piece for Obi Wan looks fantastic. Hopefully we’ll see more of it in different colours. The Kylo Brickhead looks a lot better on the back of the box on the bottom right corner. I think it’s just the unfortunate angle of the photo. Plus all the pieces are black so it looks like there’s no depth. -
Does (not) enjoying a movie/series influence your purchase decisions?
Tariq j replied to Flieger's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yes but it can depend on the era. I wasn't a fan of the first season of Rebels but there were a lot of good OT/OT esque minifigures and ships in that wave. There's been quite a few sets I haven't been interested in the action battle sets, the microfighters, even most of the 20th Anniversary sets even though I'm a fan of the source material. So yeah, buy what you like; don't buy what you don't like. -

Fantastic! Love all the little details here. Like the Health Inspector card and the mini rat restaurant.- 14 replies

It's an excellent design. Space is definitely going to be the big issue. Regardless of price per piece/ price per weight or however you choose to measure the value £650 is still a lot of money to just drop on a set. It's certainly gonna look impressive on display at that size but I'm not sure if I'll buy it just yet.

It looks brilliant so far. Looks like a Stormtrooper (?) and Imoerial Navy Office (?). I guess we’ll see tomorrow. Also looks like a mini Tanitive IV is included. -

The Falcon made it very close but then was leaked on a poster a couple of days before. But yeah I’m hoping TLG can keep the teasers up until the release date. I think that’ll be issue as well. I think a trip to Ikea will be in order -
Who is “nobody”? Adults who make up a small proportion of Lego’s market or kids who make up a large proportion of Lego’s market and are Lego’s intended target audience? Don’t get me wrong, I’d also like to see more sub themes other than police, the 3182 Airport was a great set and I’d love to see more airport related sets in the future. But as said by many others if its Police, Star Wars and Spider-Man that are selling then it’s those themes that Lego will produce. But kids interests change over time. Kids who grew up in the 90s have different interest to kids who grew up in the 00s and those kids have different interests to the kids of today and I’m sure kids in 10 years will have different interests to today’s kids. Growing up you may have enjoyed certain themes but those themes may not be popular today.

Definitely, they could even do little stalls like the Owl Stall or the Wizard Hat stall included in the 2011 Diagon Alley set. I'd love to see a Quidditch Battle Pack of some sort. Maybe have 4 players from Gryffindor and Slytherin in each pack.

Some good things here. The Millenium Falcon and Kylo Ren's Shuttle are vastly improved over their predecessors. Millenium Falcon looks more modular, seems as though you can take out sections of the interior. Y Wing and Speeder Chase look pretty good. The Death Star Cannon is an interesting set but feels far too simple. Almost like it was meant to be a 4+ set. -
Not to mention the moon being an egg all this time . As much as I hate to admit it, the merchandise has dropped significantly since the 10th Doctor's era. Heck even for the 50th Anniversary Episode we only got something like 2 or 3 figure packs.

Hopefully this will definitely mean the HP calendar becomes an annual set like the other calendars. There's a lot of content for future calendars; Fred and George in Christmas sweaters, Hogsmede variants of the main trio.

For the UCS Falcon about a month before the release Lego released a small teaser each week. (Teasing things such as the piece count, weight, box size etc.). Then again there was never full image of the set until the actual release date but something similar could happen here. The Endor Promo looks okay. I actually prefer it to the Hoth promo since there’s a lot more going on with the terrain. -

The Calendar looks good this year. Granted there are a few fillers but still a good offering overall. The Luke figure looks excellent too. The R2 promo looks neat. Although interesting they've gone for the existing R2 design as oppose to the 1999 variant like the other figures. -

Both heads looks pretty good. The detail on Obi Wan’s beard improves the headpiece. -
I'd like that too. Maybe have Ollivanders and Flourish and Botts as one set. Fred and George's shop as it's own set. Gringotts also as it's own set etc. Maybe even The Leaky Caludron given it is the "entrance" for Diagon Alley.

That’s a good fit. The undercut on the sides works well there. Grindelwald’s hair is just so damm specific . This piece in white would be the only other alternative I could think of.

General Pryde could’ve benefited from the Draco Malory/Thrawn hairpiece in a dark grey as oppose to the Tarkin one. -
That article seems to be more focused on the lack of people going to the theme park Galaxy's Edge rather than Star Wars as a whole. And the fall in Toy sales they've talked about seem to be aimed at Hasbro specifically rather than LEGO.

That looks brilliant . Detailed and accurate to the actual show. Nice how they finished off the exterior as well.

Honestly one of my favourite themes. And one of the reasons I got back in to LEGO back in 2008. We got a good selection of sets and minifigures. There were a lot of standout sets. The Truck Chase from Raiders. The Venice Canal set, the Mine cart chase from Temple. Plus the video game. My only criticism is that we didn’t get enough! Which is why I’m hoping when the new film comes out things like the Circus Train and Grail Temple are made into sets. 10/10 Architecture

I’m glad our plan of going after each other payed off! Good game everyone! And thanks for hosting Bob.

You can also see Kingsley Shacklebolt on the book! Admittedly it would have been nice to see a more exclusive figure. But I guess it’s better than another Harry or Ron.
