  1. For me it would have to be: 1.) Clock tower. I don't think the set is perfect but it's an excellent set in most aspects. Dumbledore's office and the DADA classroom are where the set lacks due to having a cramped feeling. But otherwise it's brilliant. 2.) Hagrid's Hut. Great set. I love the new Buckbeak mould and Fudge figure. 3.) The Rise of Voldermort. I don't think the build is bad. It just could have been more. I'm still looking forward to how the transformation feature works though. 4.) Knight Bus. As someone who didn't have either of its predecessors it's good to see this one. And it's by far the best designed of the trio. 5.) Expecto Patronum. Really good set. I'd say this probably ties with the Knight Bus for me. I really hope to see more Patronus pieces! 6.) Beauxbatons Carriage. Although I can't say I'm too interested in this set. I appreciate the thought that's gone into it. Especially the transformation feature. It's a feature that I feel Grindewald's escape could have benefited from. 7.) Horntail/First task. It's not that the tent build is bad. It's just not very... ambitious. Why go for silver when they could go for gold? The spectator stand would have been a better inclusion or heck even a new section of Hogwarts. But I appreciate the inclusion of the four champions.
  2. I really like the sleek design here. I could definitly see this being used in Courscant as some kind of Imperial scout vehicle like you said. And good use of those train parts.
  3. Managed to get the Jaws battle back for £6.99
  4. Two excellent sets too round off the wave The minifigures look great. The Death Eater and Wormtail look particularly well detailed. Especially both the head pieces. I’m wondering if the Filch hairpiece in ginger/auburn might be a better fit.
  5. But people (specifically kids and teens who make up a large portion of LEGO's consumer base) are demanding more Minecraft. Sure a lot of AFOLs may dislike the theme due its blocky designs. But since Minecraft has lasted this long it's clearly been selling well otherwise LEGO would not be churning out more sets.
  6. I'd seen Avengers Assemble and The First Avenger. And although I liked them, I don't think I was properly invested in the MCU and the characters until a few years ago when the Civil War sets came out. Those plus the movie itself are what really got me interested in the MCU.
  7. As said above, Kids movies have always had heaps of tie in merchandise to coincide with the release. However, I feel LEGO movies and the sets that tie into them aren’t mutually exclusive though. I can watch the LEGO Movie and enjoy without having to own the sets and/or CMF series. And likewise, I can enjoy and own the LEGO Movie sets and/or CMF series without having to have seen the film. For me what really worked about the first film was that a lot of the sets like Fire Truck, the Ice Cream van, the Recycling Truck, the Castle set, Benny’s Spaceship. They could all be implemented into existing collections if you’re a fan of City/Castle/Space.
  8. The book build is pretty decent. And a good parts pack for the Hogwarts Tiles. The Fat Lady would’ve been a good inclusion here though.
  9. Really sad to hear about this. Ragnorok 3 was my first game here and definitely one of the most enjoyable. Thoughts are with his Family and friends.
  10. Man that feels a while away. I mean I would rather wait a long time for a good film than WB just churning it out to meet a deadline. I guess they’re doing a thorough rewrite of the script given the ending of the last film.
  11. Some thoughts on the film itself:
  12. I like the Hoth promo. I agree with others that it would have benefited from a minifigure. It’s a good May 4th promo but it doesn’t feel like a 20th Anniversary Promo which is what it’s also being marketed as. A chrome variant of a character similar to the Chrome Darth Vader back in 2009 would have been good.
  13. Exactly. When you’re building an MOC (be it with real bricks or in LDD) you’re not building it for me or for members X and Y. You’re building it because that’s what you enjoy doing. And that’s true to any hobby. Plus there’s a whole host of reasons why someone may choose not to comment on an MOC. It’s possibe lots of people don’t have time to write something substantial other than just “great MOC!”. Or they may not be able to think of anything too say other than that. It’s also worth noting someone not not commenting on a build doesn’t mean the don’t appreciate it or like it.
  14. Overall looks like a good wave. The Clocktower looks excellent. I think it’s the second time we’ve seen this in Lego? The minifigures are everything I could expect from this. I love the stained glass window mermaid in the prefect’s bathroom . I have to appreciate that turntable dancing feature they’ve included. Looks like Ron got to dance with Fleur after all . Dumbledore’s office feels a little... shoehorned to be honest. It’s a nice inclusion but could’ve been saved for a later set where more space was available. I’m not too keen on the Knight Bus since the windows look much taller than they should. But I do really like that Stan figure! I really like what they’ve done with Hagrid’s Hut. Even if it is a facade. All the accessories hanging of the beam give it a more cluttered look. I like the Horntail set but I would’ve preferred a spectator stand like the previous version rather than the tent. Nonetheless the Horntail looks excellent.
  15. The set descriptions sound great! I wonder if we’ll get the skeleton of the dragon that hangs from the ceiling in the DADA classroom.
  16. That's true. And especially since more and more modular buildings are getting balconies and open roof spaces the build feels empty without them. To be fair it's a little more than just that. Sure some bulk buy CMF bags in boxes. But people use different techniques to acquire specific figures. (Namely feeling for certain parts and bump bodes but I'm sure they're other methods out there). But whose to say that CMF minifigures cannot be connected to Lego sets? It's not like when you buy CMF bags Lego tells you that you can't place them in sets or that you can't mix with other themes. Even the description on the Lego website encourages kids to incorporate CMF's into existing sets. "LEGO® Minifigures bring new play possibilities and open-ended creativity to existing LEGO sets. Children love to collect and bring inspiring new characters into their LEGO universe, where they can play out their own imaginative stories and scenes from their favorite LEGO movies – such as the amazing THE LEGO MOVIE 2™."
  17. Stan looks really good. Big improvement on the hat piece. A minor quibble but it’s a shame there’s no hair printing on the sides of his head. But otherwise a solid figure. Harry looks good as well. It’s cool to see they went with the overcoat robe with this variant. I think the previous Yule Ball torso could also work with this version of Harry as well.
  18. 1.) Yes 2.) Yes 3.) Yes! And I promise promise promise I will not post in my real account
  19. Sounds interesting. A big part of me is hoping it’s a remastered version of the original saga complete with dialogue from the movies. Possibly even Rogue One and Solo thrown in as well. But it could equally be the ST only since that’s wrapping up this year.
  20. The Rise of Skywalker trailer actually looks really good. I’m not too keen on the name although I’ll probably get use to it. The one thing that baffles me about the trailer is how a chunk of what is presumably the second Death Star is still intact on an unknown planet. Especially given how it exploded at the end of RotJ. The Clone Wars trailer was great. Just made me realise how much I miss the show . I’m kind of on the fence about bringing Maul back yet again. I love the character and everything that Filoni has done with him but I felt his arc was completed in Rebels. Regardless I’m still pumped for whatever Filoni has planned.
  21. Thanks for hosting Bob, and good game to everyone. It's a shame someone had to post in their real account three times in the day thread. Not sure who that was I thought that everyone having a PR role was neat. I've played vengeful twice in previous games. So it was interesting to be on the recieving end of one The fact Patrick was able to carry out 2 night actions in one night really threw me off because I was convinced there had to be at least two scum left. I was even more baffled when Jack was revealed as town and my body had been Janitored.
  22. But again this just boils down too “he/she isn’t getting set X for the same reasons that I’m getting set X” They’re a multitude of reasons as to why someone may purchase a set. A particular minifigure(s), parts, maybe they’re a big fan of the source material, they may want to MOD the set into something else, they may think the set is useful in another theme, some may buy it because they want to collect the full wave of a theme. But does it matter? Is my enjoyment of the Hogwarts Castle set going to be lowered knowing someone else may have bought it purely for parts? Of course not.
  23. I the look of it. Cockpit could be a little smaller. But nonetheless it’s a good set. Leia’s desk is a tad underwhelming. But then a corridor would have been more awkward to add.
  24. But I feel like this is a “he/she isn’t buying/using Lego sets for the same reasons that I’m buying/using Lego sets” Some will buy sets for minifigures. Others will buy for parts. Some will buy for the set as a whole. Like others, I also like minifigures I wouldn’t say they were over rated. A modular building for example, doesn’t HAVE to have minifigures. It can still be a good set without them. But having them there adds a little life to the set. I’m sure many kids like creating stories with them or just adding them to their overall Lego city.
  25. Lego doesn’t usually know how a movie is going to perform critically though. Nor do they wait and see. They usually produce sets to tie into the release of the movie.
