  1. I did many orders at Lego Direct (30 maybe). But now, I do not order there anymore. For most of parts, BL prices are much more attractive. There are some exceptions : if a piece is very rare on BL (for example if it exists in only one model), it will be expensive. At Lego Direct, the price is the same, whatever the part is rare or not. But since 2 years, prices have sharply increase at Lego Direct. I remember that I used to pay 3€ for each pneumatic cylinder. Today, they cost something like 7€. edit : today, LUG use the BulkLUG. Prices are VERY VERY attractive (you can't even imagine). But to resort to this BulkLUG, you have to respect very strong conditions. :/ And you have to wait about 5 months to get you parts. This does not suit to my needs when I'm MOCing. When I doing a MOC, I do an order (on BL) every week. Or maybe 2 a week. And I want my parts ASAP.
  2. I came into LSW with the UCS. :)
  3. Times change... Supercars change too. A motor which could drive the car were very boring, IMO.
  4. Babasorhum won the contest with this MOC. And so, he got a 8043. :)
  5. I think the gearshift is used for the functions only. So I say you are wrong.
  6. The 7L is maybe used for the B-model ? And I know that the 6L is very rare. When I built my FSB002, I nearly bought all of them on BL !
  7. Indeed, it could have been like other sets, and so fully motorized. But I think that sometimes it's cool to see different things.
  8. Sorry, I see no suggestion about how to fully motorize the outriggers and the winch in you post. Actually, this is simply : you have no suggestion just because it is impossible to do these changes correctly with a model of this scale.
  9. And what do you suggest for it to be better ?
  10. I think this set lacks a lot of studs. :( So, I would never do that change.
  11. A golden rule at TLG : every minifig or model which is produced has to look good, which doesn't mean that is has to be correct. The normal Darth Vader suits perfectly for every model or MOC. The Chrome Darth Vader was only produced to make money with adults which are willing to pay a premium to get it.
  12. It is very poorly designed. The overall shape of the vehicle is very very coarse. The 2 outriggers are not even linked. -_- (one knob for each) When you play with it, the cradle shacked in all directions (if you put a Technic fig there, it will have headhache, sure !) And the rail of the cradle would only reach the knee of a Technic fig -_-). Details are poor and stupid. Example : the is a roller but there is no hose. In short, this model could not have been worse. Of course ! Nathanaël does only perfect model. 2005 : 8289 fire truck Only 3 years later 2008 : 8292 cherry picker, which, in some extent, is similar to 8289 Got it ? No ? => 8292 was designed to replace 8289 which was definitely a fail.
  13. 8289, 8041, 8063 and some other sets are among the worst sets ever.
  14. That's a damn good thing ! I'm fed up to see stupid minifigs everywhere !! A white boba ? What for ? A chrome storm trooper ? What for ? 20 sorts of storm trooper ? What for ? A Chrome Darth Vader ? What for ? And this trend is still growing with all the useless minifig we have with Clone Wars. A storm trooper is a storm trooper. And a Darth Vader is a Darth Vader, etc. Come on ! We are playing Lego, with bricks !
  15. Please, show your gratitude to Nathanaël : http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=46153
  16. Dunno. But there are about 13,000 parts.
  17. Till today, TLG has been producing many sorts of slopes. But many of them do not exist as inverted slopes. For example, a slope 4x2 inverted and cheesy slope inverted were damn useful ! And that's very basic elements, so, it is totally in "Lego spirit".
  18. Yes, and there is another (very) impressive MOC from babasorhum for this contest. Look at this : http://www.setechnic.com/Forum/post66273.html#p66273 Amazing, isn't it ?
  19. Yes, this techniques was first used in the 10030. But I was not aiming at mimicing the building techniques of this set. I used this technique because it is simply the best way to attach the bottom wings. ;) I don't know a better way to achieve this.
  20. Hum. Dunno really. I would say that it is a little bit less heavy than the 10030. Yeah, I put a lot of effort into the design. It has a true frame and it is well reinforced. So, it is strong.
  21. About 420 meters long. O_o
  22. And thanks for the frontpage ; it is an honor.
  23. As I wrotte, Oxycrest did it on photoshop. He does all the display cards of my MOCs (see my Brickshelf gallery). :)
  24. Thank you everyone for your very nice comments. I'm very flattered you like my MOC. Describing the building process is important to me. I think this can be very helpful for other people. Because a good MOC must first have a good design (something strong, optimised, etc). And the fact that on EB I can post as much photo as I want (but I remain reasonnable ; all the photos on this page are not very big), is very useful for me. Because it enables me to explain many things. On the contrary, on FBTB I can not post as much photos as I want, and that's a big problem for me. For me, presenting a MOC is not giving a link to a gallery. It is much better with the photos in the thread, with comments on each photos. Did you understand well the French posts ? My next projetcs ? Hum, I currently waiting for parts to put bigger wings on my TIE (I will show you some new photos when it is finished). Then, I have to redo my Slave and write some reviews on my website. I hope I will be able to start a new MOC in January. All the parts I have for my MOCs (and so, all the bags you see on the photos) have been bought on Bricklink. I never buy sets for their parts. If I want parts, I go on Bricklink. So, I get only what I need. Besides, my collection is not so big to do MOCs ( http://www.brickset.com/search/?OwnedBy=Anio ). All the UCS models are built. I don't do anythings with my Technic, because it is studless (MOCing with studless is not what I prefere...). Yesterday I bought the 10212. Like the other UCS, I will build it and put it on a shelf. So, I don't have any spare parts with the models I buy. Moreover, I hates having many parts in my storage boxes. Because when I look at them, I think "Do something with these parts !! You can't let them like that !!". That's why I rebuilt my 10030 ASAP. More generally : the fewer useless part I have, the better it is.
