  1. Thank you everyone for your very nice comments. I'm very flattered you like my MOC. Describing the building process is important to me. I think this can be very helpful for other people. Because a good MOC must first have a good design (something strong, optimised, etc). And the fact that on EB I can post as much photo as I want (but I remain reasonnable ; all the photos on this page are not very big), is very useful for me. Because it enables me to explain many things. On the contrary, on FBTB I can not post as much photos as I want, and that's a big problem for me. For me, presenting a MOC is not giving a link to a gallery. It is much better with the photos in the thread, with comments on each photos. Did you understand well the French posts ? My next projetcs ? Hum, I currently waiting for parts to put bigger wings on my TIE (I will show you some new photos when it is finished). Then, I have to redo my Slave and write some reviews on my website. I hope I will be able to start a new MOC in January. All the parts I have for my MOCs (and so, all the bags you see on the photos) have been bought on Bricklink. I never buy sets for their parts. If I want parts, I go on Bricklink. So, I get only what I need. Besides, my collection is not so big to do MOCs ( http://www.brickset.com/search/?OwnedBy=Anio ). All the UCS models are built. I don't do anythings with my Technic, because it is studless (MOCing with studless is not what I prefere...). Yesterday I bought the 10212. Like the other UCS, I will build it and put it on a shelf. So, I don't have any spare parts with the models I buy. Moreover, I hates having many parts in my storage boxes. Because when I look at them, I think "Do something with these parts !! You can't let them like that !!". That's why I rebuilt my 10030 ASAP. More generally : the fewer useless part I have, the better it is.

    UCS Slave1

The dark green parts look pretty good. I have to do the same on my Slave. At the moment, it is not built anymore (I disassembled in order to rebuild it). I also still have to find a way to do a display stand WITH a display card (I want the card to be on the stand, I mean)
  3. EDIT : Professional building instruction available here : You can email me at setechnic@gmail.com /EDIT Hi everyone ! Today, I present you my latest MOC : it is a UCS Executor. I started this project at the beginning of January 2010. With that project, I had several goals. The first one is obviously that the MOC had to be accurate. And here are the other rules I wanted to respect : - no illegal build - no odd colors - a true frame (like the 10030 ISD) - no use of old parts which are no more used today by TLG - optimisation of the part number as much as possible - the model has to look homogeneous In my eye, I managed to respect everything. :) A few more pictures : http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=425848 The video : I hope you like that MOC which took quite a lot of time and effort. :) Anio
  4. In France, some people already get a credit of 15€. So yes, the customer service is really impressive.
  5. Hi everyone ! I built the FSB002, and it is a great model ! It is very well designed and everything on it works very smoothly. :) You may look at my video on my website or on my youtube. It uses many rare or complex parts, so, it is a very expensive MOC. I sold it some time ago because now I have the 8043 (wireless ) and because I need money to buy parts for my UCS. I've been trying many times to be in touch with the famous Fivestarbrick to send him a little money in order to thanks him for his work. I never succeeded. As for the front loaer FSB001 : Blakbird, do not waste your time, this MOC does not work at all. I didn't write any review of SeTechnic since this MOC is a fail. But I explained how it works : http://www.setechnic.com/Forum/post7214.html#p7214 (honnestly, it seems impossible to know how it works only with the building instruction O_o) In short : - first the model is controled with the same controller as FSB002, although it is not visible on the photos I did. - the bucket works fine - the arm rises well to. The kinematic of the arm is interesting and a bit surprising (red parts). When it goes down, the arm sometime clings on the cabin. - the third pneumatic function is used to... switch the functions. O_o Impressive, isn't it ? - then, you have 2 modes : either one RCX motor drive the model and the other one is for steering, or, one motor drive the left wheels and the other one the right wheels. - and finally, the playability : the model sucks. Nothing works perfectly. If you drive straight forward with AWD (with 3 differentials, like 8466 ), it is ok. The steering works so so... Moreover, there is no white clutch. So, you sometime hear gear cracking. :s But after all, that's logical : a clutch is not viable since the motor is used for driving in the other mode. I also have been compelled to file the yellow ball of the steering (ref x873c01), because there was MUCH too friction because of them (which nearly prevented the steering from working). With mode 2 (drive on left and right side), it is even worse. The steering (which work just like an excavator) do not work at all. You really can not steer. All the gears crack with horrible sound. You can't either go straight forward since the only constraints caused by the ground are enough to steer the wheels ! O_* Actually, there is far too much loose in the steering mechanism. You can steer the wheels without drive the RCX motor. (too much gear down) If you have any other question, I will try to answer. And sorry for the many mistakes I may have done is that message (hard for me to explain technical things in English).
  6. OMG. I discoverd the building instruction of the clone on Brickset. With the mini slopes, there is an horrendous illegal build. That's despicable. re
  7. I found some pics where we can see the model from under. Now, I know why there are no official photo were we see the JSF from under : because it looks rough. PS : Sorry if you already have seen these pictures...
  8. This means that the model is very well optimised.
  9. It's been a while I wonder how this model is built. So, thanks for the pics !

    UCS Slave1

I'm very impatient to see it finished. :) How did you attache the Slave to the black display stand ? Without the display stand, the door can be opened or not ? Hum, maybe I will add some greebs at the back of my Slave...
  11. ACPin, is Naboo your favorite theme in Star Wars ? :)
  12. To work perfectly, the 8043 need very new batteries (9V). With rechargeable batteries (7,2V) the model can not work well.
  13. I'm not convinced by this turntable. To have a similar result, the use of a hailfire wheel may work perfectly. :)
  14. I don't understand. For me, this model is not so great. Ok, the design is nice and I appreciate the color scheme. Steering is also ok. But the rest of the model is borring :/ Rising up the bucket is not very exciting. Even if there is 2 way to do it, it is still the same function IMO . The 8292 has two real differents functions, and it is much more fun and interesting to play with. The mechanism to change the way you rise the bucket is also a bit botch-up... And the absence of clutch gear is unforgivable.
  15. And also because : - studless enable to build much more complex and compact things ; it is easier to build in three dimensions - studless is much cheaper to produce than studful.
  16. That is very true. Building something in a simple maner will make the MOC efficient/reliable/etc. But it's hard to build something simple !
  17. Yeah. And if you add 50 kg, the chassis will break. -_-' The model is perfectly optimised. It works damn good !!!! I played with it last week end during a meeting : it goes easily everywhere where any other truck has difficulties, or even don't succeed to pass an obstacle. In short : the best truck trial I have ever seen.
  18. Cavegod, how did you attach the grey elements on the wings ? edit : your wings make me want to build bigger wings on my TIE.
  19. The 8043 cost 194€ on s@h in France. What a rip off !
  20. Right. Well, it takes all kinds to make a world... fallenangel327, thank for your support anyway.
  21. @ Fallenangel327 : here are the tan wings :
  22. At first sight, this model looks great. It is very detailed, etc. But when you look closer, you can notice that several details are different from the real AT-ST. Besides, with such a scale, the model should have an interior. To do so, the designers should have find a different way to attach the 2 sides (no rubber I mean). I also don't like the studless parts we can see here and there. Proportions are also wrong ; the model is too stocky ; the "V" shape of the cabin is too exagerated, etc.
  23. If I remember well (my model is not built anymore), the lightsaber prevent a red "L" part from going up.
  24. I really never understand how people rate models on EB. O_o For the size, the design is awesome. It has several nice details. The build is also quite interesting for the size. The cockpit use no printed parts, the wings can move. IMO, the designer couldn't have worked better on this model. The only default (which is not a true default, because the set himself is still well designed) is that the set is similar to the previous shuttle.
  25. I won't vote for anybody because I think that TLG take the piss out of us with this contest !!! For the adult models, it is definitely stupid to compare MOCs which have nothing to do (different theme I mean). I also noticed that in the adult models, there is a creation of a child. Maximome is child ; he is 16 (unless you consider that a 16 year old child is an adult ). This contest will be an epic fail from the begining to the end.
