Thank you everyone for your kind words. I'm pleased to see you like my Slave. :) Yes, I did. I added a lot. I've been working on 2 projects. But currently, both are very very far from being complete. So, I prefer not saying anything about them (oh, and don't waste your time browsing SeTechnic ; you won't find anything about my next projects there too ;) ). That's not easy. I've put some light bluish gray and dark brown slopes and wings, but Ithink it is the best I can do. Yes it is ! :) It is smaller. Actually, with the size of my model, the minifig should be something like 3.3cm tall (whereas it is 4.1cm tall) The sticker is home made photoshop made. Not by me, but by Oxycrest (as always, I would say :) ). He is good, isn't he ? No, unfortunately, there is neither compartment, nor Han in carbonite. :( I had originally planed to put the new Han in carbonite (set 8097). But in the end, I had no room inside the MOC, mainly because of the black stand that goes inside the MOC. Moreover, I noticed few weeks ago than Han in carbonite is much bigger than I expected (4 studs wide O_o). Unsier maybe ? Impossible. Does it surprise you ? I know that. I've tried with 2x3 and 2x4 wings and it doesn't look good since the part that was cut didn't match with the tan arm. Maybe I should try with plate 3x3 cut corner... Yes, I know that too. But if I put some bricks there, they finally will be outside of the green arches, and also perpendicular to them. So, it won't look good, sure. And I can not put them more "inside" since there is a dark bluish gray axle joiner I can't remove. I don't see what's wrong between the green arches and the brown "skirt". Among the changes I did, that is one that I really appreciate. I think that this little slope give a much more agressive look to the Slave 1. It also enables me to have a very good "join" with the SNOTed light bluish gray wings 2x4. I like the current color scheme. I don't want to put to much green (especially dark green) for the MOC not to look too shiny. I also like the tan parts, even if this color is not on the studio model. It contributes to make the model "battle-fatigued". And if you look at my photos, you will notice that I put the dark green parts symetrically to bring some sharpness and clarity to the MOC. Indeed, the dark green is the color that catches the eye the most and that do not contribute to give a "battle-fatigued" look. No, I won't for 2 reasons : - to put a dish 2x2 (an other dish would be too big), I have to put a plate 1x1 round between the four studs. But this plate 1x1 wouldn't be well attached. Indeed, it is not equivalent to put such a part on 4 bricks 1x1 and on 1 brick 2x2. - moreover, if I put this plate round with a dish, the 2 cannons would be even wide. Actually, they are already a bit too wide. Honnestly, I think I can't do much better... :-S My back is only 1 brick thick. I know the back of my Slave looks quite different from the studio model. Nevertheless, I think it doesnt' look that bad... :) Just one thing Fallenangel : believe me, I really appreciate every of your suggestion (I do, really). It enables me to explain many things. But do not forget a very basic thing : a MOCer is NOT a model-maker. ;) He ALWAYS has to do compromises. PS : sorry for the mistakes I may have done, and especially, sorry for writting such an unreadable long message. @_@

It took me a lillte bit less than 2 hours to build. But I REALLY envoyed building this set. There are very nice bricks and colors (compared to the other UCS I'm used to build).

TLG can not afford to sell 10212 at a high price since the model was nearly entierly designed by an AFOL, Dmac.

Hum... When I look at that pic, there is something I do not understand : The bent black liftarm is 1 stud wide. How can an axis/pin go through the brick 2x2 ?- 782 replies

OMG ! What a terrific One set MOC ! :O It has great functions and awesome design ! Building a One set MOC is not easy. But building a One set MOC which is far better than the official B-model is truly very tough ! Frontpage required ! :o Kudos, Grohl !- 782 replies

Noooooooooooo ! Don't want to pay twice for it. Cause if TLG produce such a model, I will have to buy it. Sure. :/

The power puller tyres are much too heavy for most of TT. -
Yeah. I can read. But we usually calculate thee price/part ratio. So what ? I do not care where your (wrong) figures come from ! ;) Yes, I noticed that. I also noticed how stupid such an idea is. You can not compare the price of a today set with the price of a model that was released 10 years earlier. Otherwise, of course there is an increase. That's logical ! But this increase does not involve 10215 only. It is the same for all the LSW models. So, the trend of the UCS line (and so the price of 10215) is equivalent to the trend we can see on the whole SW line. PS : a good LSW fan knows that 10195 (and 10188, but that's more debatable...) is not UCS.

What a clever message ! First fail : you don't even know how to calculate a price per part. Price per part = price / part Second fail : many of your prices are wrong (the 10030 for example) Third fail : you do not compare the 10215 with the current models (I really don't care about the 10 year old models for such a comparison !). So, the PPP of the 10215 : 100/676 = 0,1479 And here are some models which are currently for sale on s@h : 10198 : 170/1408 = 0,1207 6212 : 62/437 = 0,1488 7754 : 110/789 = 0,1394 8038 : 119/890 = 13,37 8087 : 53/304 = 0,1743 8097 : 95/573 = 0,1658 8129 : 100/815 = 0,1227 7752 : 62/385 = 0,1610 8036 : 40/259 = 0,1544 8095 : 55/454 = 0,1211 8098 : 150/1141 = 0,1315 8088 : 75/396 = 0,1894 (@%§#&§!) 8019 : 75/ 636 = 0,1179 (and just for fun, the absolute record of TLG : 8091 : 37/176 = 0,2102) As you can see, the PPP of the 10215 is not really higher than the PPP of the other current models.

Haha. The problem is that most of the CW ships and vehicles do not have a good design. Not because these ships or vehicles aren't well reproduced with bricks. But because the first models done by the designers of Lucas Arts are very ugly. So, whatever a Lego designer is good or not, the final Lego model will be ugly (7930, 7931, etc...) And some time, even with a great model, the Lego set is horrible. Best example : 8039. And the fact that we see more and more reedition of past models (turbo tank, slave, and many other models) is also a clear proof that the Lego Star Wars line is slowing down. If TLG's motto is "Only the best is good enough", It is certain that this motto became "Only the money is good enough" with the current Star Wars line.
-
I do not understand those who say that the 10215 is overpriced. The price per part ratio is much more attractive on this set than on many other star wars models.
-
Thanks for the pic ! :) So, I only put one slope in SNOT. Why not. :) As for the bracket 2x2 - 2x1, I won't be able to attach it to the wing since it is wider than 1 brick. Then, with only one axis to attach a wing, the model will be damn fragil. :s
-
Your French is excellent ! As for the pylons, do you have a pic to show me what I could do ?
-
Does the studio model of the Interceptor TIE have this two red lights ? Cause there isn't any red light on the rear of the 7181. One day, a famous Lego Designer told me : edit : As for the lypons, take few parts and show me what do you suggest. Be sure I were glad the improve that part of my MOC. :)
-
If I have only 4 studs, the wings of the TIE are not well attached. I also can't put Technic Connector. My wing is much thinner (2 plates) than 7181 Interceptor (1 brick + 1 plate = 4 plates). ?
-
Hello, Few weeks ago, I changed the wings to make them bigger (and so for the MOC to be more accurate). Here are only 4 photos. I will have to do more when I Oxycrest has redone the sticker. PS : sorry to be back on this very old topic, but...

I do want an UCS ARC ! :o

This is a great set with very nice parts ! The B-models also look good. Thanks for the pics and the review ! ;)

The first question you must answer is : How much do you plan to spend ? Because you do not buy the same things with €80 or €350.
