Crowkillers' 2011 Supercar WIP
Anio replied to DLuders's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hey, don't be upset. Yeah I know that. Creating a whole new "script" (or whatever) would be complicated. But I guess it is possible to find something already done on the internet, and put it on your website. For example, no one create a forum but take a phpBB and adapt it. :) Selling instruction is something I will never understand (some very very rare exceptions are possible, such as for the NK models which are perfect down to the last part). I get a building instruction for free from CurtisB (Invisible Hand). When he sent the files, I sent him €20. But I consider I didn't buy the instruction. Because he agrees to share it if someone doesn't send money. And IMO, that's very different from selling the instruction. And you get enough money to run your site till 2013 ? So, I guess that if you had given the instruction for free since the beginning, and waiting "fair-play" people to get money, you would have had enough money every year to run your website. Maybe I'm wrong. Or not. I don't have to moderate my website since I'm the only one who can write on it. As for the SeTechnic forum, there are several person to run it. But that's not comparable. -

No. Create something that requires to log in. That's all. -

There always will be morons on the Internet... The one who wrotte this is definitely one of them. If someone could warn Crowkiller about this problem... (by email for example) It is his website, he is the admin, and he has to moderate what people may say on his website. Nico is fair-play with other builders/MOCers. I hope no one doubts about that. -
Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Anio replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Dunno when, but one day, I will build one. -
+1 for combination. Moreover, trust me Pete, a good UCS model have both studdes and tiled surfaces.
-
Nice ! You have some very nice greebs, and the shape of the shuttle is IMO good. It was not easy to capture it. Though, I think I would have done the main wing a bit different. Nothing very important. Do you have a pic with the wings up ? By the way, what's your next MOC ?

Models for 2H of 2011
Anio replied to menad's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
TLG will not add parts such as buckets only for B-model. I'm sure of it. -
I can not believe that even the 3 big slopes are not printed. Very, very poor model... Well, thanks for the pics.

8081 extreme cruiser?
Anio replied to legolijntje's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm not sure, but it seems that the MSRP will be €55 ($55 in the US). -
8081 extreme cruiser?
Anio replied to legolijntje's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The 8081 will be a "small" model. About 600-700 parts. -
What makes me laugh is that this thread about my Slave is to the fore, even when people do not talk about my MOC ! On FBTB, it is even the thread number one of the whole MOC Showcase.

You do not need €200 at all to design a powerful TT... 1,000 parts, 1 XL, 1 M, 1 BB, 1 IR receiver, 1 controller and that's ok ! So, a €120 set is enough, IMO. -

@ Zblj : look at the previous page (nice new avatar by the way :p ) @ Lordgalewind : we could already see that a bit on the previous photos. But now, yes, we are sure the spoiler retract inside the car. -
Rumors: 1h 2011 technic sets?

Yet someone who think that a good model is a model with PFS. Pathetic. -
Sorry, but it looks quite good to me.
-
Yes. In fact, I have "many" technical constraints. Do not forget that my wings, the tan arms and the cockpit rotate all together when you rotate one of them. ;) Actually the main problem is that there is no Lego wing with the right angle. That's all.
-
Impossible. If I want my wings to rotate well, I'm compelled to attach the tan arm with a U-joint, in exactly the same direction than the axis where the wing is attached (dunno if my sentence is understandable O_o).
-
Thanks. :) Instructions are not planed... :s But if you are ok to build some elements yourself, I can provide a new LDD file. In this file there is the main "body" of the ship. The wings, all the greebs, the cockpit and the laser cannon are NOT in this file... (and some parts do not have the right color). So, you can do them as you want, or looking at the pics I did and try to reproduce them. The LDD file is not complete because I do not use LDD to do all the finishes. Otherwise, I worked a bit on the Slave to see what I could do to take into account some of the suggestions above. :) As for the wings : (do not pay attention to the color I use ; I currently do not have the right colors) As you can see, it doesn't match with the tan arm. :/ (with plate 3x3 cut corner it is even worse). To attach the wing 3x2, I also have to put plate/tile above and below the wing 3x2. Thus, the wing became 3 plates thick, which doesn't look very good... So, I think that my previous wings look much better. Don't you agree ? I also changed that : I put Technic parts : a driving ring extension and a driving ring (I get this idea maybe because I'm also a Lego Technic fan ! ^^). These 2 parts are old gray (no choice, they do not exist in LBG and DBG). I think the model look better with these Technic parts. What is your opinion ?
-
The beams ? The tan parts with U-joints you mean ? I will see what I can do. :)
