I don't think the "half a mask" thing actually has anything to do with it, for reasons stated. If anything, maybe this universe ALSO has a Vahi only this one can be used for time travel etc. Or maybe it's just a neat little easter egg. Yeah, let's go with that.

I still think seeing a BioShock Infinite style twist at the very end would be cool. "There's always a mask, always a Toa."

Battle for the Gold Mask Semi-finalists and Winner
Dorek replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Congrats to all the winners! Best of luck to you all, some killer (no pun intended...) entries here. -
Nice, CGI stuff. Wonder who does it, looks pretty solid. I can see where people get lasers from, though.

Oh, dip! Didn't catch that one. Nice eye! It's an easter egg, yeah, but it's a remarkably coincidental easter egg, since we have the Temple of Time... (totally hoping for a BioShock Infinite style twist; there's always a mask, there's always a Toa) Anyway, watched all nine. I liked the humor, personally, because it's just so at odds with the dour and serious Protectors, which is exactly what it needs to be; when it comes down to it, these Toa will step up to the plate, but they're also amnesiacs tasked with saving the world. A little bit of "wtf" goes a long way. The animation is just superb here, and I love the little touches; baby Protector, the golden Protector Mask they put on Ekimu, the fact that the Toa actually swap masks instead of overlaying them... it shows an incredible amount of love for the story and the craft, which has me immensely hopeful for the future.

While Seattle/upper Northwest usually gets nothing =P. I went to my local Target and Fred Meyer today; nothing to speak of. I'll be heading to TRU eventually, so maybe I'll get lucky.

Remember, it's not necessarily the company at large doing this, just an individual retailer who mis-stocked something, perhaps. TRU just happens to have a history of stocking things around this time as a whole.

Swank, new tags! I might have to swap out the Hau for the HF logo... but it's the Hau... Also, looking forward to seeing who earns the black MoCr; there's certainly plenty of good candidates around.

Still super jelly that you guys got these early, but I'm looking forward to having them in hand myself. Now, of course, we're all gonna be disappointed when you don't have the summer set reviews up in April =P. That's from way back in the day when we learned there was more than one Makuta and he was just the one assigned to Metru Nui. Somewhere in between 2004 and 2006.

While I often think it's silly that people are so jazzed about broken street dates, it's bringing back some fond memories. I probably won't be getting any sets for a while (I'm hoping for review sets, but as a newbie Ambassador, I gotta wait :< ) but if I see one in a store, I might not be able to help myself... Totally not me no sir. Anyway, I like the name, and it fits with what we know about him. I'm glad to see Masks receiving such a huge focus this year, makes me hopeful that we'll get more promo items and such.

Oh, looks like they changed the "father to son" bit to read "through the generations". Good going, LEGO.

Last time they had CCBS in PAB it was to coincide with the Hero Recon Team releasing (god I miss that service). As far as I know, they don't stock it otherwise. That said, with BIONICLE coming back, they might change that, or we might see similar promotions in the future.

Thought it was until the fifth, for some reason. Ah well, wouldn't have had a chance to scrounge up anything anyway. Had some good ideas, but no time. Good luck to everybody that entered!

Hey, this is what LUGs like BS01 and BIONILUG should work towards; showing the AFOL community that BIONICLE, and constraction in general, is just as worthy of being a LEGO subset.

Only three years, as opposed to a year-by-year basis? =P I'm sure they'll have a story bible for in the event it proves to be a continuing success. Constraction doesn't need to be a smash hit anyway, but I'm sure they have high hopes for this relaunch.

I liked the original Hau, but I liked the new one better when I saw it. A win-win, really =P. As for the realm of water stuff, yeah, I'm hoping we get an aquatic theme in the future. I'm a sucker for that kind of aesthetic. Also, looking good, VBBN. I can't wait to get the spider masks, in particular, those are gonna be nice.

Did anybody actually grab the full Okoto map from the site? It'd be lovely to have the thing as a whole image. So much detail...

I'm sure the LEGO shop descriptions will make more of a distinction; they always have five billion bullet points devoted to elaboration like that.

#pantsgate2015 He was probably referring to the movies, which people have mixed feelings on. I'm personally quite excited for the 2D animations; they seem really well fitted for episodic content, and will be able to tell an interesting and ultimately cohesive story throughout the year, which was always a problem Hero Factory had.
