  1. *skips five pages of chatter* Sweet pics. Good to see we're keeping "Toa", too.
  2. Mmm, saw that. Shiny. Looks like they're definitely gearing up for the reveal.
  3. Or they could not be hinged at all and the pin is purely for the purpose of attaching to the feet. I'm starting to think this is more likely.
  4. They might be similar, with an eyestalk, but I very much doubt they were "modeled after". They'll contain similarities, but only as much as any other head. Besides, assuming the clip-on method, they wouldn't even use an axle opening (although it'd be nice if they included one!).
  5. Well, we already see Tahu lavasurfing in his new picture, so that's likely what the background is referring to. But yeah, I hope we get some kind of volcano fight. That's be pretty cool.
  6. Hah, thought there might be some setup. Lava, son!
  7. Nah, it's just two of the standard spike pieces you see in HF sets. Also gatlingchest ftw.
  8. Thanks man! Our clearest look yet at the Defenders. Looking snazzy. Dual colored masks is also really neat.
  9. And Lewa does have Katanas with wings oooh man this is gonna be amazing.
  10. I dig it. Pun FULLY intended.
  11. Ah, gotcha. Very cool then, not long to wait at all.
  12. NYCC officially begins Thursday, Friday is supposed to be the reveal. MAYBE they'll be setting up and we'll get a picture of a banner or something, but short of that, everybody should keep their pants on until Friday =P. Edit: I appear to be mistaken, Thursday night is when BZP says the special event is. So, Thursday night.
  13. You have the habit of asking the strangest questions... As I'm sure has been answered by reading the topic, yes and no. Are they shooting for a similar vibe? It looks like it, and the reuse of the OG 6 certainly helps, along with facehugging critters (so excited for that!). Will the story itself play out like that? Impossible to say. It could be something much darker, lighter, etc. If LOSS isn't the "big bad", and that's being saved for summer, that in and of itself is a fair deviation from the original storyline, wherein the final boss battle was much more... metaphorical in nature.
  14. (Ahkmou also knew, because the Toa lost his Matoran Sphere and Teridax found it. Teridax then told Ahkmou the truth but made himself out to be the hero and made Ahkmou his ally in fighting against the "corrupt Toa". Which leads us to MNOG.)
  15. Citation needed! I'm probably just misremembering. I know there were definitely certain unrevealed elements (like the aforementioned graveyard), about where Matoran come from, that I thought were being saved for its relation to the Red Star, but maybe that was all just sort of co-opted near the end.
  16. Honestly, reading back, most of the serials were really good. The last ones were just unnecessary, and being unfinished only tainted them further. The 2007 ones are still the best, though. The fixed biweekly schedule worked wonders, and those were all rock solid.
  17. The Red Star was actually planned as one of those mysteries a good ways back, as far as I know. More recent plot developments make the whole thing a bit screwy (the aforementioned Dekar-Hydraxon), but it was always supposed to be what it is, in concept.
  18. They cannot reproduce biologically, no. Spherus Magna inhabitants, on the other hand, can. Anyway, the whole timeline thing is pretty wild as it is, but whatever serves the story. That is something I hope new BIONICLE does away with, at least; make the timeline far more realistic.
  19. I'm still hoping for one of those polybags to make it for a winter promotion. The lil' beast is just too cute not to have, and it would be a nice acknowledgement of the line ending, which looks to be otherwise unceremonious in nature.
  20. Ah, I getcha. Basically a dedicated, single titan, not a grouping of figures or a vehicle of some description. It's true we haven't seen that in a while; I personally thought Hero Factory was getting a bit stale with that, so hopefully BIONICLE can create enough interesting designs. I never quite got why the Fikou was so popular. I mean, it's cute and all, but of the Rahi introduced in 2001... we all know the Mukau is best.
  21. Not sure what you mean by extra large? The biggest HF set was Drop Ship, valued at 50USD, and from there it's a collection of $35 sets: Witch Doctor, Speeda Demon, Jet Rocka, and Queen Beast (et al), respectively by year. For all the fluctuations in the set count, the price range of the sets has always been pretty consistent. The big constraction sets have always been known to be less effective item movers ("impulse" sets make up the bulk of that), so LEGO must be confident that introducing only larger sets will work for them for whatever reason. Aanch's point about redirecting focus by specifically not including smaller sets is certainly a plausible one. BIONICLE's habit of using the same names for multiple things always cheesed me off, so I hope it's just the island.
  22. So, Okoto's legit, eh? Sweet.
  23. Even if there isn't a storyline reason for it, I like that they have the same masks but in different colors. It makes customizing that much more accessible. I mean, it'd be great to have some extra options, but the jury is still out on mask packs (seems unlikely to me, but still), so this is a fun way to give options while keeping the line cost where they want it.
  24. Sweet collection. I never managed to get all of the Roboriders, which is something I always regretted, but the Throwbots were all fantastic; Millenia was my favorite. So much personality. Still have the old containers and everything.
