  1. I like to think the "father and son" and various uses of the word "generations" pretty specifically means organic reproduction. Obviously they're not going to make a big deal out of it, but they should be and are shying away from the grand, pointlessly mysterious aspects of Gen 1 and making it more relatable this time.
  2. dat mask Fair enough (unlike apparently a lot of people, I'm inclined to believe Deevs since he was there =P), though I'm still of the opinion that the line as a whole isn't being considered as dark as it should be. Undead villains with incredibly violent names might not be "edgy" these days, but it's certainly a departure from the colorful elements of the winter.
  3. Did they ever say specifically that they were avoiding the tone of later years? Obviously there's certain aspects of the 01-03 story that work for them that they want to emulate, but I've said before that I don't think people are properly estimating the "darkness" of this wave. Especially since we have villains with names like "Skull Slicer" and "Skull Grinder". (also I absolutely loathe the term "grimdark" but that's beside the point) Anyway, aren't the skull guys a villainous team, technically? They're not horde enemies...
  4. Excellent, last time I had checked they had a broken file link, so I wasn't sure if they even had images like this. I'm going to go use it on BS01's set database now~ I knew somebody would make that joke =P
  5. Who took those pictures? Some good stuff. I like the prototype MoCr looking at it now. If the mouth hole was open, especially, it could have been really fun.
  6. BS01 has them too! We use the publicly available SWF files that were on the website back in the day, and then the occasional scan of our own. This Brickshelf gallery has most of them handy, and then there's our Comics gallery.
  7. Try LDD. Wait, did that ever update with BIONICLE parts?
  8. It's possible the trans-orange mask doesn't actually have the same story purpose, or any at all. Maybe Gali is the only Toa that doesn't get infected or whatever and actually saves the day. Or maybe she just doesn't get a set mask. I haven't seen Nex or Stringer in years...
  9. I don't see any new promo pack being in the summer, but more likely the winter, if at all. Most dedicated lines don't get that many per year anyway, so just the one works for me. Maybe there will be a European only promo at some point, which happens.
  10. I don't know about cheaper, but they did release combo packs with the Toa/Protector duos. It's on the shop page. Might be, or could just be maintenance. Happens from time to time. While they aren't the best at letting people know it, it depends on the scale of the issue and how long they reasonably expect to take fixing it (could be fixed within the hour, and then all the fuss is for nothing). Putting up a site notice probably costs them more business than the occasional refund. At least for the US, if you show proof of purchase within a reasonable timeframe, they'll retroactively add the points to your account if it doesn't stick for the order.
  11. Mmm mm those shipping costs =P. Thankfully I don't live too far away from a LEGO store, so I'll just pop in from time to time and snag a set and a Hero Pack. Looking forward to when that hits the US!
  12. Oh, nice, thanks for the tip. And a BIONICLE target game, too. Cute. Some stores clearly got them in early, since we got those pics from yesterday. Plus, it's not just UK, it's most of Europe too.
  13. Some people inevitably will; there hasn't been a formal announcement for the US version yet, so anybody who stumbles across it might think it's a European exclusive thing... like basically every Hero Factory thing was. And of course, some people might genuinely not be able to make it to a LEGO store anyway, and figure they might as well pay the cost upfront. Obviously there are price gougers, so the best we can do is just try and make sure everybody gets a fair deal.
  14. Don't worry, people buying multiples in Europe doesn't mean that the American wave will have less stock; on the contrary, they might realize they need MORE and then add it to the original shipment. But they don't just take stock from other stores once the promotion is done... the stores keep it until it sells through. Every store will have their own allocation. That said, extreme scalping is kind of annoying, but it comes with the territory. Both the buyer and the seller are at fault there.
  15. Why do they have to have been villagers? They clearly work for the entirety of the island, so I think their "ethnicity", if you will, is its own thing.
  16. Oh, right, if you want an online version of that map it was recently released on a Russian BIONICLE subsite (for Nickelodeon). It's so damn big I can't get it to display properly on the wiki, but it's there. Doesn't have the golden mask locations, though, I'll like that about the promo pack version. Also, I love the compass image they've created. Has anybody tried making it on LDD? It's so cute. (completely unrelated but somebody should email LEGO complaining that the digital BIONICLE insert is still the wrong file because it's still bugging me and I already sent a complaint)
  17. While I think the colors are probably coincidental, it'd be really cool if they weren't =P. But the leaked docs didn't suggest anything about another GWP thing, and did confirm the summer sets, so probably no more. Anyway, really cool stuff; looking forward to the US version. And I love that they give the exclusives those bananas set numbers.
  18. I don't remember the black brain being available for separate purchase, but who knows. They way overstocked that one, which is a shame, since it probably trashed out chances of getting the other HF polybags. I'm glad they're giving BIONICLE a chance, but I'll have to get in there early to make sure they don't sell out, since they probably learned their lesson from last time.
  19. I doubt they're going to get that specific with the mythos; they're skull warriors guarding an ancient city. Seems like a basic enough conceit to understand.
  20. Like I said, I'm in for Greivous based on the description. The others will have to impress me. (Who knew Mark Hamill would be made into so many constraction figures? :U)
  21. I'm fairly certain it's the same mold, just with a different color (which I appreciate nonetheless).
  22. Right, on the upswing; if it was on the downswing, the horns would likely be too heavy to properly sustain the mask anyway. Now the weight actually locks the mask in place.
  23. Haha, or that. I'll be getting them both, at any rate. I like it because it actually emphasizes the battle/"knock the mask off" function, moreso than the sets in winter. The horns are something tangible that can actually be hit, easier than the back of the head.
  24. Ah, that's where the box ran off too. And actually a box, and not some weird hexagonal thing, amusingly enough. Oh well. Buy both and swap their masks! =P
  25. Could that maybe be a Toyfair mixup? I know the prelim images make it look like Grinder has silver, but still... these things have been assembled wrong in the past =P.
