  1. You're right that it's a grey area. The goal of the guideline is to ensure that EB doesn't become a billboard for Ideas projects, and this first post with its title is still very much an Ideas plug, albeit not for the member's own project. This sort of thing is better suited for the topic Exetrius posted above, and I could just move it there. If it's to remain here, I stand by this needing to be focused on the MOC and not on supporting an Ideas project (which only spawns the comments 'cool, supported' - basically no substantive discussion).
  2. Please do not mini-mod. At the same time, thanks for the link. For the OP, here is the relevant portion of our site guidelines: In addition, this being an adult-oriented site we require that everyone use proper punctuation, spelling, and capitalization to the best of their ability. Please edit your post to make it about the MOC and correct your typing. I will then go ahead and edit the title to reflect that it is about a MOC and not an Ideas plug. Thanks.
  3. Do you? Other people could understandably be a bit dubious when you say a character has been 'heavily rumored' but I haven't read any rumor on any site to that effect.
  4. Please do not bump very old threads in general, but especially do not do so with nothing to add. Thanks.
  5. The Doctor Strange picture is legit, but as it is clearly a leak, it violates our sharing of leaks policy. Thanks.
  6. The suspense and buildup in that whole segment was soo good. My sides hurt!!
  7. I for one like cartoon/anime styled minifigures, especially Clone Wars, but that Raven looks... well.... a bit too far. Hopefully she has an alternate face that is either looking straight ahead or more reserved? Beast Boy actually looks cute to me, though.
  8. Disappointed by the HP pack, that's for sure, but the very fact that they're doing HP means maybe the other pack(s?) will hold more promise. Is an updated Sirius finally too out there to wish for? (Answer: probably) The M:I Ethan Hunt looks well done, as does Mr. T. I look forward to the full reveal later today.
  9. Soon EB will have a quite in depth review too, I promise. Let me know if there are any specific angles or anything anyone would like to see, though I might already have it in the works.
  10. Looks like a bloody awesome set! A real, decked-out slice of a location as opposed to some weird thing (I'm looking at you, Ra's). I think the fig with fans is more likely to be Wong since the Ancient One's costume just does not look like that, but I guess we'll see. Either way the minifigures are great all around. No need to continue discussing if it's ok or not to post. If LEGO asks us to take it down, we will comply. Until that time, it's an unwatermarked image, so there it is.
  11. If you mean questions that Jim gathered from the technic forum, some of them will be answered in my upcoming reports and interview articles. I am *surprise* the mysterious Eurobricks Moderator mentioned above.
  12. There will be pictures when I review the set hopefully in a week or so.
  13. Also, please use proper spelling, capitalization, and punctuation to the best of your ability, as per our site guidelines. Cheers.
  14. Official images online for the Ecto 1 and 2 set showed a total of three faces and two torsos for Holtzmann. The set only comes with one double-sided face (no eyewear and goggles), and one torso that has a canister strap. The Holtzmann with glasses and no strap is not in this set.
  15. I can confirm that the Holtzmann with glasses and no strap is NOT in this set. It must be in Dimensions/another set, or they designed her that way and it will never see the light of day. Hopefully the former, since the glasses face looks cool.
  16. I know this is just a semantics issue really, but what exactly has the word 'review' come to mean? Neither of these are reviews... they're some shots of the product. They're very helpful to our discussion, for sure, but I can't understand how anyone calls word-less, opinion-less content a 'review.' Anyhow, the Ra's set looks pretty much just as lousy as I thought, but the Croc set seems pretty cool. Even though the dentures of doom are a ridiculous, pointless vehicle, the design is quite nice and I dig the play feature shown off in that video.
  17. Wow! Awesome upgrades! I liked the original but yours looks even more fun and cartoony.
  18. People like this fourth Civil War set? I guess good minifigures outweigh everything these days. I can't fault that, especially with the crazy aftermarket prices of minifigs, but as far as a well-rounded set goes this might as well have come with a lamppost and been sold for $15 for the quality and desirability of the builds included. Makes me a little sad inside that LEGO can package a crap truck and pointless airport thingy just to sell some nice minifigures for a bunch of money. I almost wish LEGO had thrown reality out the window and made some cool Avengers arrow ballista for Hawkeye and Vision-colored flying mech, or something.
  19. The set gives me a strong Adventurers Egypt-line vibe, and I dig that, but the Bat-Buggy-Thing-Car does nothing for me, and Batman himself looks like somebody was in the middle of designing a figure, went to the bathroom, and then came back to their desk only to find that the design had already been sent to production. If this is really $40 as rumored to boot, that makes it all the less enticing.
  20. Great minds move quickly alike, or something.Since this is turning into sort of a general toys-to-life/discussion about Disney Infinity shutting down topic, perhaps I'll leave it here. Sorry all for the mix up. Please do see the LEGO Media & Gaming section for the specific discussion about LEGO Dimensions.
  21. This discussion is already ongoing here in our Media & Gaming section. Welp, Hinckley and I were both seeing into this at the same time.
  22. There are plenty of ways they could improve the figure. Yes, Spidey's costume looks similar in most iterations, but there have still be slightly different balances of red and blue and LEGO could make new variants based on that. The most important thing to me would be to change the base color of the torso to red, like in the Spider-Man 1 and 2 sets. Those Spider-Man 1 and 2 minifigs are worlds better than the current one, who looks like he's wearing pajamas. I'm sure the Civil War one will be great, but they could surely update the comics/animated Spider-Man too so that he's not such a dud. Bottom line to me is, if the current minifigure looks a bit crap (which I personally think it does), LEGO could certainly do a better version of the exact same look.
  23. Please keep trades out of this topic. They go in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum, and there is good reason for that and the Buy/Sell/Trade forum restrictions. Thanks.
  24. I don't think it's quite that the discussion went 'this set is garbage, so let's put in a pair of dual-molded legs! (Plus Iron Spider)' More like a sales strategy - we've got an ok playset, but kids aren't necessarily hankering for an empty construction site so let's up the wow factor with better Spidey-legs. But AFOLs still think the set sucks, because, well.... it does. The dual-moulded legs were nice, but the two villains were major disappointments. This new wave is a ton better, but Spidey himself still sucks. I really feel they should just redesign that figure from the ground up, but it feels like LEGO is re-using prints whenever they can in these sets so that seems unlikely to happen soon for the comics/animation inspired sets.
