LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Clone OPatra replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Besides when Padme stole a pair for that Podracer set you mean? (Not to mention the few other themes they've popped up in now, but funniest that they have been used in SW given the context) -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Clone OPatra replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
If I recall correctly, the mammoth was a call-to-order situation, so the elephant might be the same? All the others should just be available eventually I think, as were there counterparts in the past: big cats, eagle, bears, pigs, cats and dogs, etc. -
Hehe, I hope LEGO's department that looks at sales statistics is prepared for the anomaly of why that set keeps selling out and AFOLs are walking out of stores with ten copies. Reading Wikipedia, there is a rare colour mutation of South African lion that is white with a tan mane. So, LEGO didn't make it up, but it's a semi odd choice.

Yes, like you said here yourself, though we'd like to think LEGO makes animal moulds with an eye to reuse, we can never be sure and mustn't hesitate when they're released! Everyone thought for sure the camel and ostrich, and goat from city would be reused. But nope! Even the cow with the most classic black and white cow print only came in one set. For all we know, that Disney farm set could be the only set to include a sheep for the next 15 years!

Your builds are always stunning Nemo (as is your presentation of them) and this one is so good! I love the very long landscape presentation of it - detailed and yet very very clean. The cross section style of the school building is also very effective and fun, and you can just imagine Juggernaut punching through each section. It reminds me of the very first Juggernaut story in the X-Men books, which was all about him breaking the perimeter and getting progressively closer to the school. Your minifigure designs are spot on as well. That Jubilee is instantly recognisable, to the point that she looks like an official figure (or better than one actually)! My only point of criticism would be, if you bought a Mario starter pack just for the two flesh tiles, why didn't you buy an SDCC Jean Grey / Phoenix? Where is your dedication?

Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

The minifigure pack definitely follows the trend of this wave - being totally unexpected! Personally, it's fine, but it does feel like a figbarf pack made of random minifigure parts, and not very special compared to other recent packs. Some of the parts are quite rare or from very expensive sets, so that's cool, but I do think a Quidditch pack with all four house robes would've been better. -

10772 Mickey’s Propeller Plane - 59 pieces, 10 Euro (so assume Dollars as well) 10773 Minnie’s Ice Cream Parlor - 100 prices, 20 €/$ 10774 Mickey’s and Minnie’s Space Rocket - 88 pieces, 20 €/$ 10775 Mickey’s & Donald’s Farm - 118 pieces, 30 €/$ 10776 Mickey’s Fire Station and Fire Truck - 144 pieces, 50 €/$ Source: https://www.brickfanatics.com/new-details-emerge-on-rumoured-lego-disney-4-2021-theme/ Being a 4+ set and including so many animals including the new sheep, if the 30 dollar mark holds true, the farm set is actually a pretty good deal! -
Lego Minecraft 2021- Rumours and Discussions
Clone OPatra replied to gryffindorbrickkid's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don't think you can really compare Minecraft to other minifigure-based themes 1:1. I'm not into Minecraft myself, but it's not a theme where minifigures are as important or desirable as in other minifigure themes. It's all the different mobs and representations of the wide variety of things in the game that are important. That's why at first there only WAS one Minecraft minifigure at all, and then for a good while longer only two in most sets! LEGO has only recently started making all of the unique player designs. A big Minecraft set with only one minifigure is really nothing new. EDIT: I was forgetting the bad guy minifigs that have existed since the beginning, but they also were just representations of game mobs as much as buildable ones are. -

Not leaked actually - seems the review embargo is up. So it hasn't been officially revealed by LEGO but the reveal is allowed. Amazing actually that it DIDN'T leak earlier. -

New Elementary has now posted their review of the parts of the two Brickheadz sets, but no pictures of the boxes or builds so I still haven't actually seen the Voldemort one. Is a pic out there on another site? EDIT: nevermind, seen it now. That Voldemort, Nagini and Bellatrix one is a lot of fun. And Hagrid is SO much better than the GWP one. -

10773 the Ice Cream shop is the first set I've seen that uses the Dots picture holder piece outside of the Dots theme. I have no particular use for that information, but just interesting. -
The Jay hair in dark orange must be a new BAM exclusive. That's a great recolour for that useful hairpiece.

LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

The set looks good, but it's still dang annoying about the giant (i.e. LEGO standard) BARC speeder included. Looking forward to the official pictures hopefully this week to be duly impressed by the minifigures and unimpressed by the shuttle interior! -
I absolutely love the baby animals and the adult male lion. Fantastic stuff. The adult elephant mostly looks good, and it's nice for everything to share a design aesthetic, but those huge flat sides are a bit too huge and flat for me. The total lack of articulation (possibly including the head) is also disappointing, even if it was expected after the mammoth. A slight walking pose from a front leg might have been preferable for some dynamism.

It doesn't matter how sour people get, they'll swing right around when the set pics finally come out. Unless of course the sets are as disappointing as the minifigures. -

Even though it's not so small, it's good a very chibi look to the proportions. Definitely nice and bulky.- 2 replies

In case you somehow missed it, LEGO has revealed the second batch of products for VIDIYO - including actual sets this time! There will be five stage sets of various sizes and two new BeatBoxes launching June 1st (world) or August 1st (US), and a second wave of blind box BandMates launching October 1st. Check them out along with your local pricing on LEGO.com, and join our VIDIYO discussion - which has been moved to Special Themes. Keen for that 1x5 plate in the largest set? Here's a taste:
-
Actually yes, we are going to move it to Special Themes shortly - I thought the same thing that it'd be a better fit over there.

Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I for one most certainly would NOT have wanted that. Yes that's the way to look most accurate, but it's also extremely restrictive and one use. A single beard-hair piece would've been good though (like Saruman etc), or a beard that could be used with this Aquaman hairpiece, which is theoretically possible. As it is, this is a bit disappointing, but at least the face and hair are both good as themselves so that's positive. -
The response here has been mainly quite positive too from those interested enough to post, but it's clearly just not in the interest area of many Eurobricks users. Our community is fairly segmented I'd say - lots of people are here just for building and not for discussing new product launches at all, while others are drawn in by an IP they particularly like. VIDIYO isn't an IP, most the minifigures could be considered too whacky to be used in what lots of AFOLs like to build (castle, city, even the more serious side of space) - it's no surprise there's not much discussion about them, not because people dislike them necessarily, but because people simply aren't interested in discussing them.

Wow this is awesome! I thought that design was atrocious in-universe but seeing it so big in LEGO almost makes it look cool.

When I first saw that picture I thought the dark tan part on the front of the torso was a beard, not the side of hair. How can anyone really tell if it's closer to the shoulder than to the centre of the torso?
