  1. Just the Great Hall itself yes, but the overall shape and look of the set very much matches the 2001 one. That one's Great Hall even had grey rocks integrated into its base, though they weren't for a separate floor.
  2. Those terribly photoshopped images with the scurrier body and digitally re-coloured scuba helmet are clearly fake. There's an image out with where you can see Lloyd with what the actual scuba suits will look like. They do look kind of like military wetsuits. It will be interesting to see what new versions of underwater animals make it into these Ninjago sets.
  3. Well, erm, in a certain sense it is a portable building Thanks!
  4. There isn't usually tracking for B&P orders, but you should've gotten an email with the invoice saying it shipped. Possibly varies by country but if you didn't, probably just a system glitch.
  5. Something I've been wondering - is anyone really nostalgic for the original 4709 Hogwarts Castle? To the point that they want something that looks fairly like it? It feels like an odd nostalgia pull to me because, IMO, while they were what they were the original Harry Potter sets were nothing to write home about, and certainly not desirable compared to modern sets. It's like, the original Millenium Falcon was a thing, but you wouldn't want a new one that looked like it today. As I felt when I originally got 4709 in 2001 and when I reviewed it in 2011, it's really not very good. It's ugly, gappy, a bad mess of colours, and full of under-detailed rooms and random play features that don't make sense. Yes the new one will be better than that, but it still seems like LEGO might be trying to pull at heart strings that aren't there?
  6. Wow, all those little motorcycle sets are unexpected and neat. I like the mustachioed guy a lot. Anyone know a projected price point for them?
  7. Something I've been trying to work out: is there any interior to the wall section of Forbidden Corridor? Because it looks like what's behind the windows is just the background artwork, so any interior would have to either be very low-lying or else it's just a wall. The tower part will probably have some, though. Other random thought: did Cat Hermione really need a full head mould as opposed to a new hair and cat ear mould? Seems strange. It also looks potentially big enough to go over a regular head, which would be the reason to make a whole head-sized mould so then each character can be changed between their polyjuice and non-polyjuice version. Then again, a reversible head with a hair-ear mould also would've accomplished that.
  8. Friends, 4+ Mickey and Friends, Disney Princess, Ninjago, and Minecraft were all there.
  9. Looks like it to me, but bear in mind the images are preliminary so you never know if it will slightly change.
  10. Politics does not belong here, and besides, this is an international forum. Leave it out now or we'll have a private chat.
  11. Hospital beds were included in the top of the clock tower. That's basically a Hospital Wing. However in my opinion we could still easily get Pomfrey in a CMF series. The CMF figures don't correlate to available sets 1:1. Some do and plenty don't.
  12. Exactly the point I made earlier, but the key difference is that now we've seen and become accustomed to a much better style, so these feel like a significant downgrade. I snapped up those 2010/11 Hogwarts sets in a heartbeat, but the 2018-2020 ones blow them out of the water no questions asked. These Anniversary ones themselves might still be better than any prior to 2018 but not as good as the '18-'20 ones. Honestly, I don't care if we get any more Hogwarts sets in the '18-'20 style or not, I just want Deathly Hallows sets covering Deathly Hallows scenes and minifigures.
  13. They weren't posted on LegoLeaks, they were / are accidentally revealed in a webstore. EDIT they are there now. I'm sure some people have saved them.
  14. Honestly if these had been what we got in 2018 I think I would've been very happy with them. To me there is nothing bad about them in their own right - only compared to the standard of this line thus far. The Hogwarts sets have a lot in common with Hogwarts sets pre-2018. The weird thing now is that this is such an abrupt turn from the line we've been getting. It's a reboot of our reboot in a totally different, less appealing style. Hogsmeade is awesome though and the bathroom looks like what I expected, which is desirable. If Harry and Ron indeed have Crabbe and Goyle faces and hair pieces as they should, it's a no-brainer great pickup for me.
  15. Yes! I was so shocked to see those as I didn't know anything about them. Goofy and Pluto together! Hooray!
  16. Do people not get how prelims work? Nothing is necessarily final. Most likely the builds will stay pretty close if not exactly the same, but they may change. Minifigures are clearly completely preliminary. As per our guidelines I had to remove the link.
  17. The OP last logged in in September 2019 and last posted any comment in 2009, so I doubt you'll get very far, but you can try sending him a DM as that may show up in his email. Not sure what happened to all the content in this review unless it was deliberately removed at some point.
  18. Awesome build! I don't come into this section very much but I'm missing out. I'd love to see more angles of this MOC though, and do the buildings have interiors?
  19. Yeah of course. I might even do an "unbagging" video to document my surprise at what I bought myself.
  20. Yeah and it's $2.50 USD plus a bit of tax depending on state to the US. LEGO's operations in Aus/NZ pretty much suck and I never buy sets from them directly because they make it so not worth it. Since December 31st I've placed three B&P orders - one larger ($100) one to where I actually live in Australia, followed by two small ones to relatives in the US when parts I wanted became available. Both US ones have shipped and the first was already delivered. The one to Australia still hasn't shipped 6.5 weeks later. But I digress. This is the cool parts thread, not the regional whinge thread. I look forward to seeing what I even ordered in the Australia order, because at this point I've forgotten!
  21. Since most of the 2020 sets didn't come out in 2020, and it only generated four pages of discussion, you're now looking at it!
  22. Can you link to an example please? I'd love to see what these sites are comparing it to that makes them think these price points are low (unless they're just sipping the corporate Kool Aid of course). Totally agree with everything else you wrote.
  23. Thanks! I was going for something as random as they used to put on the back of boxes / instructions when LEGO still did that. A lot of those builds were creative but objectively pretty bad. What do you dislike about it in particular? Thanks! Only about five parts from the main structure left-over. I didn't use the parts that make up the action feature with the cyclone bit.
  24. After reviewing 71735 Tournament of Elements, I decided to take it apart and build it into something else. Here's the result using nearly all of the pieces from the main structure: My main idea was using the red poles as a hovercraft base, and the rest grew out of fiddling around from there. Bolobo has a big control yoke inside to steer: There's a little engine on the back controlling the turbine made from scythes: There's a ladder on one side... ...leading up to his little covered garden above. Here are a couple of other overall shots. Let me know what you think!
