Disney Properties 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Wealth of outfits perhaps, but not characters. There have only ever been four human characters in the Frozen and Frozen II sets - Anna, Elsa, Kristof, and Lieutenant Matthias. That's it! Olaf would work just fine against minifigs. Sven is a rounded Friends-style animals, but he's a cartoony reindeer to begin with. -

I think it's fantastic that they perceive enough market appeal to create a large D2C tied to a minidoll theme. It signals that LEGO has well and truly dismantled the "boy toy" image that plagued it for so long. I also don't totally get how everyone can pass judgement without seeing the thing. As the ice castle, there are hardly many characters that are even relevant to the scene, so it's not like they are going to be doing lots of new characters as minidolls and thus NOT doing them as minifigures. The build will surely be as magnificent as it's going to be regardless of the type of figure, because the scale is pretty much the same (and it's a fantastical ice palace, not something grounded in the real world where slight scale variations might make a difference). The most valid criticism before any pictures have come out, in my opinion, is why another Ice Palace at all? They've done it several times now, and decently in the latest iteration, so did this need to get a big D2C no matter how good it ends up being? Something novel would've been more interesting. -

There's not going to be an official solution for combining these two sets or somehow building them into a building. If you want to do it, you'll have to MOC it. -

REVIEW: 71014 LEGO Minifigures - DFB Football Series 2016
Clone OPatra replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Five of them are theoretically possible to accurately identify through the packet because they have hairpieces unique to them within this series. The coach is easiest because of his accessory, but then there's also Manuel, Jerome, Toni and Sami. As for the rest, there's no way to identify them accurately and nobody ever did a chart of their order in a sealed box because these had such limited availability in the first place. -

It's Phoebe's Gladys artwork. This set is above and beyond anything I was expecting. For a Friends fan, it looks magnificent. -

Intriguing and cool to see Sally's hairpiece back and recoloured for Phoebe. I kind of didn't expect to ever see that again especially when there's the Dumbledore one that's so similar. -
It was a Coles. I'd noticed a few weeks ago that this Coles got a whole LEGO stand with a bunch of polybags (nothing too interesting - City, Creator, Dots) as well as VIDIYO stuff. Yesterday they'd moved the whole stand with what was left to their clearance section - polybags ~$3, VIDIYO Beat Boxes ~$8. They only had the Llama and Horse Girl left though.
-
Picked up a Party Llama Beatbox on clearance for $8 (AUD) at my local grocery store. That price was low enough to have me interested. Still mind boggling that they priced these at $20 USD and full Australian RRP of $26.

The perspective is a little wonky as the minifig is positioned in the foreground in front of the elephant, but everything looks roughly proportionally correct to me. The new elephant is really not huge and that truck is very tall. See the same picture with an edited background on the back of the box, and the perspective becomes clearer.

Thanks! Now that I've checked out their article, I see the most expensive set has fewer pieces than the second-most expensive one! Though it does have more animals. Curious to have two sets so close in price as well in a line like this.

LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Clone OPatra replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yes it looks like the top could either lift off or flip open like the latest Lambda, but only the centre portion of the top, not the sides sloping down to the wings. Even still, there should theoretically be room to seat a few figures in a line in that centre part of the hull running from the cockpit to the back. -

I like the shuttle much more from that front view. The way the roof of the sides is built looks very slick. The cockpit looks fairly deep so it should seat at least two figures, and then surely there will be room for two inside? Unless they made space for the lime speeder inside instead. Maybe I'm dreaming. -
Where can all the HD pics be found in one place? I hadn't seen that lineup with the minifigures and animals before. It's fantastic that the elephant head can move around. That really helps.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

Nice stuff both of you! It's a fun change seeing people use B&P for actual standard part orders rather than just all the latest / interesting stuff. Speaking of that sort of stuff though.... here are a couple of orders put together from a while ago that I only just opened: And though it's not the name of this topic, here are two small Bricklink orders (had to make up for my mistake of missing out on the shopping cart when it was available on B&P): The pink hands were so that I could make customs with the Pigsy head from my previous B&P order: -
Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
@Salix and @krimimimi did you get multiple Cedrics because you buy CMF actually blind? Genuinely curious. I haven't bought any CMF blind pretty much ever so I'm always getting exactly what I want. With an eye to buying multiples Cedric definitely would rank below Draco, but from the perspective of buying just one for the purposes of having a unique character/outfit, Cedric was much better. On the subject of Quidditch players in a CMF, I certainly would want to see HBP Quidditch Ron get the decked-out CMF treatment, but I wouldn't want a third of the series to go to Quidditch unless the series also covered all of the most notable character gaps in the HP line. -

IMO also Draco was the worst. Cedric was a character in a unique outfit needed to complete the Graveyard Duel scene. Also gave us a unique Cedric face unlike the one used later in the sets, plus the legs were good for track pants in other settings. Draco brought nothing special whatsoever besides a recolour of the broom, which didn't even make sense because nobody has a dark green broom. -

Sure you can Bricklink them if cash is no problem. Currently the cheapest Ravenclaw Quidditch mannequin is selling for 6.34 euro on Bricklink. For US customers not wanting to pay absurd shipping, the cheapest is $10. The torso isn't currently available by itself at all. The Hufflepuff one is cheaper probably because of the magazine availablity - somebody has nearly 400 of them in the US for $2.50 a piece, and there are comparable prices in Poland. But, if the Ravenclaw one doesn't show up in a cheap set soon, its price is not going to drop. Did you not understand the rationale behind the four-student pack from last year either? Obviously people don't care about the specific characters and just want the robes to build Hogwarts students. An accessory pack was the best chance to get easily accessible and mass-able Hogwarts Quidditch robes for all four houses in one go. Instead, it's three new characters made out of (rare) reused parts, which many people will buy one of, and no obvious chance to get quantities of Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw robes directly from LEGO yet. -

May the 4th 2021: Star Wars Concept Art Contest

Would something from the "The Star Wars" comic series by Dark Horse based on Lucas' original craft be allowed? They mostly used designs from existing concept art, though possibly changed a bit.- 58 replies

Very lively and fun! I love the bit of brown and pink alien landscape - the pink is just enough to sell the sci fi aspect.

Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Context is key though. In the context of Hogwarts students, people are tired of repeats and want some less known characters (in my opinion all that really matters are the torsos as the hairs and heads are easy to customise, but that's just my opinion). In the context of a figure pack, three fig-barf figures potentially passing as characters plus Harry aren't what many people were after, or certainly not what some people were expecting given that last year's pack was a mass-able student pack.
