DC Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
It might be the Adventurers-tinted nostalgia talking but that's got to be the best 4+ set they've done yet. They took the parameters of 4+ and worked with them to make vehicles that actually look good, rather than slamming the parameters into an impossible vehicle (cough X-wing cough) or phoning it in. Joker's car looks like it'd be in a regular set, and the Batmobile looks beefy and respectably shaped. The minifigures are unfortunately overused, but it's still great to see such evolution for the theme. -

There's no reason they have to come in the same set. Plus Cho is just wearing robes when she appears in the Hogwarts battle, I thought. Does she ever wear a sweater like this? -

I have never been blessed enough to lay eyes on the 501st Battle Pack in an Aussie store in my area. I it was almost instantly sold out online from all the major retailers, though it popped back at one for a quick bit. I bought an AAT online the second I saw it available, so I stopped checking after that. Re: the Mandalore duel set 75310, I thought that was confirmed at $20 USD and 147 pieces quite a while ago. Or are people talking about a different Mandalore set now at $30? -

While Cho certainly looks like the back of a torso, I can't find any existent one that matches it. Same with Hermione's torso, which seems to be new. Given the outstanding question marks about the August wave and the changing information, who knows, maybe there really will be a Deathly Hallows themed set. There's the single out of place PoA Hogsmeade set in the June wave after all. It's all topsy turvy. -

If you watch her actual video you'll see she doesn't have the Shang-Chi set, she's just covering images of it from someone who found it in a store in Israel (there's no official LEGO presence in Israel or really any chain toy stores to speak of there so some random shop must have put them out). -

Which minifigs? The golden figures have unique torso designs, while the faces are pretty much the same as the non-gold versions (though printed in only a single colour). -

Really? After I already had a whole public back and forth with someone else about this very thing, did you have reply to it? One person parked a truck with explosives nearby. That was it. Carry on with the actual discussion please and not about the US Capitol. -

Ok, I just did, including the one you intially replied to. They all related to LEGO or other people's points about LEGO, besides yours. Care to carry on arguing and we can do so privately. You started off derailing the thread and now it's getting worse. -

That's not what happened. And I'm keeping this public so everyone else knows too. One person posted with an opinion about LEGO. YOU made a whole post not about LEGO but about your politics. See the difference? We allow discussion of LEGO on here (obviously). We don't allow discussion/posts about politics because we know where it goes. -

Funny how you felt the need to reply to a post that had been moved far past just to share your politics. Stop. -

This year makes no sense to me. Each and every one of these building thing / non-playset sets sounds to me like it could be fine in its own right, but releasing so many at once in one wave is baffling. LEGO must be confident in HP to pump all this random stuff out, but then again, if the "regular" type sets were selling well, it's a strange and sudden detour to make into a year with only four normal sets, and of those only one seeming to share the same design language as previous years. -
Disney Properties 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Not necessarily. Frozen remains extremely popular, and everything they've done for it bar two figures in the CMF has been minidoll. I can see them doing an even bigger minidoll ice palace - why not? Plus if that set number is correct, it's a minidoll-theme set number. Not a total giveaway but a good indication of it being minidoll. -

This is true, but the thing is, I was scratching my head as to which outfits would even benefit from that much printing and moulding. But, I suppose any Jedi could benefit from dual-moulded legs, and would certainly benefit from LEGO finally creating a cloth cloak. Then @Kit Figsto came through with those good suggestions that I'd honestly kind of forgotten about. For the OT the trio could all use new versions from the ANH celebration or Endor. Plus, Rey has needed dual-moulded arms forever, so a CMF would be a place to get them (and finally a different face for her). All in all I should've thought a bit harder about the possibilities! -

Sorry if this is a little off topic (and I should know as a MOD), but if they do do a SW CMF, which could potentially be awesome, I wonder how they'd handle the choices and also their pattern to this point of always including a property's main characters in a licensed series. Every licensed series thus far has included the main characters: Simpsons 1 & 2 (all five of the family), LEGO Batman Movie 1 & 2 (Batman, Batgirl, Joker, Robin), Harry Potter 1 & 2 (the main trio and Dumbledore), DC Superheroes (the most prominent Justice League members: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash, Cyborg, Green Lantern), and even Disney 1 & 2 had Mickey and Minnie, arguably the face of Disney. Star Wars not only has too many main characters with three heroes plus villains in three trilogies, but also almost all of them have been done (and done well) in nearly every outfit they ever wear (besides Padme). So, how would they navigate that? There hasn't yet been a CMF for a theme as long running and broad-ranging as Star Wars, so it would be very interesting to see what they did with it. -

The piece counts are all pretty good. What is this Twilight Zone madness with a Star Wars wave full of new material based on shows, with desirable minifigures, and good piece counts and prices?? -

Dang, that's a small but very juicy order. I procrastinated on the orange spacemen and now I don't think I'll be lucky enough to ever own one unless they release it again (unlikely IMO). -

All of the descriptions are great, but I love seeing pictures of people's orders! Even if you can't arrange it out all neatly, snap a pic of the piles! (Please and thank you of course) -
I can see why I might've been a tad over the line, but replying to a post that uses the term "SJW version haircut" and has gone to the trouble to crop and post a picture but not gone to to the trouble of simply naming the movie, I made an assumption and @STARHAWK confirmed it was correct. Anyway, that was that.

The Great Hall had at least 9 or 10. Some shared with other themes/sets yes, but still. They were: the wand, Harry's hair, Hermione's hair, Dumbledore's hair, Hagrid's hair, Hagrid's body, Hagrid's right arm, Hagrid's left arm, the square lattice window insert, and I don't recall if the lantern first appeared there or earlier that same year. EDIT: forgot the small 4x2x3 cone was also new for the Great Hall. +1 https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=38317&in=S EDIT2: And the Sorting Hat and candle pieces. +3 more That's 13 or 14 now. -
Off topic but I'd really love to know what you think is "Mulan-like" about Raya and the Last Dragon, because from what I've read and seen of Raya I don't see any strong similarities. Or did you just mean all films with East-Asian-looking characters are automatically alike? If you're willing to get a custom anyway why don't you get that Raya hairpiece and draw black on the side of Cara's head yourself? That'd be pretty close.

There are high res images all over Instagram now too.
