This year forum challenge?
Seasider replied to Omikron's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'd be up for a friendly (non-prize just pride) forum build competition ... as long as enough time is given for the build as I can only spend the odd hour or 2 every week unfortunately. -
Review Review: 21103 Back To The Future Time Machine
Seasider replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'm a major BTTF fan and love this set. The roof looks a little narrow to me, but its difficult to get all the proportions right when working to this scale. So silly Q but when it is out in the UK ? It says 17th July on your review, and then on the official CUUSOO blog page it says it'll be released at Com-Con and in selected European Stores this week and then globally 1st August ... confused as to when I can pop into a store and buy it ! anyone know if there is a list somewhere of the European stores participating in the early release ?- 207 replies

Hi all, I've dug out a few old sets from the loft and fancied making the 'B' model but I can't find the pdfs on the official Lego site. Does anyone know if there is another source for the pdfs ? Also I see there are 2 computer programmes for designing with Lego. Can anyone recommend which is best for studless technic as I'm going to start building a project or 2 and think it would be helpful to try it out on a computer as much as with the physical beams etc?

Having read through the vast list in this thread I'm pondering what to do to my unimog ... at the moment it has the grey bed on the back ... I'm thinking of getting some more plates to put the plow on the front (undecided on colour at the moment) ... but I've read about steering/suspension mods on here and seen someone has made an instruction book ... is this steering/suspension mod worth doing ? what is wrong with the official set-up ? and if i do it does anyone know if i need extra parts and does the instructions show you how far you have to break down the existing chassis to make the update ?

I'm surprised with seeing boxes like that it'll take so long for them to get to the shops. (hoping I'll be able to pick one up)

fantastic model, especially to squeeze all the motors and even an engine within such a neat space quick q but how you you get the curvature for the rear arches ? -
Lancia Fulvia HF
Seasider replied to piterx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Looks great, been waiting for the final reveal. However I agree with Lipko, the roof is too narrow. If you look at the Fulvia the Pillars are more vertical than you have. Which would most probably mean the roof is 2-3 studs narrower that the waistline of the car -
I ended up rerouting the cable around the grey axle outboard of the motor and then back under the chassis and this has taken most of the slack off. I've now built the Cab and Bed, but I don't think I'll build the Lift Arm I'm thinking of a Plough at the front but that means buying some more plates !

I bought the Unimog on Monday and so far have built the chassis. Loving the build so far, although I have to admit lining up some of the axles as you assembled was a pain. One question I have is what route should the power cable connection between the motor and batteries take ? It wasn't clear in the instructions. It looked like they showed it just going externally under the chassis and then back inside where the batteries go. But on my model this means the cable is hanging down slack. i think a slight mod with a couple of pins and the thin half width beams might be my route for holding the cable up.

Hi all, My first post here after many a week of lurking. I'm an AFOL and have CITY (a couple of Trains), Star Wars (mainly Jedi Starfighters) and lots of Technic (mainly studed from when I was a kid, but I have a few modern studless sets). I looked at the Crawler when it first came out but it just didn't do anything for me but the BOSS version looks great ... so now for some silly Q's !!!!! This might sound weird but does it have a B-model ? Also anyone planning to 'drop' it and make it more like a standard road car rather than a monster truck ? ... I think this might be my first challenge ... possibly tring to squeeze a V8 under the bonnet (if it fits) and perhaps take the electrics out unless i can fit them in the boot/trunk Roll on 1st August !
