  1. Well it was not 4 figure battle pack right, it was more liek 6 + animal, and if they'd made 4 Gondor soldiers + 2 orcs I might sjutify spending 45 or even 50$ for it :P You did ''ignore'' that part though, its hard to argue it right? quoted from above
  2. Its Dain 99%...... You think LEGO would skip that character over generic noob dwarf? Good luck!
  3. Why dont you use Bricklink? its amazing!
  4. Good luck dreaming polybags guys :)
  5. Well personally Id rather own another Helm's Deep (for parts) than Dol Guldur or something, though it depends what you like more :D
  6. haha, so anything happens and wave gets produced youll be happier.... fair play :P
  7. Awful set list, trully abysmal..... Treebeard over Balrog :O is the worst part.... you can make Treebeard from the Ent by adding/changing 40 parts...... Ents are finished and you get the fig you can modify easily..... Overall a bad set choices, and even worse Minas Tirith Price point :P
  8. But lets do some calculation here.... lets, for the sake of the argument, say there are 1000 people like me, or even people who buy more..... afterall we all seen that MOC where Helm's Deep had over 1000 uruk hais in display if I am not mistaken (or was it even more?) that guy(s) who made that MOC had to buy 250 UHA alone! You think anyone in the world bought as many Elrond's councils? :P Ok so you say LEGO does not take a factor in multi purchases... but isnt that kinda a bad move? Its a loss of potential revenue, I bet a LEGO LOTR chess would fly of the shelves, and I bet if they've put up a Gondor battle pack with 2 new molds (helmet and shield) and put it on their page as preorder with note: we will produce them if community preorders atleast 10.000 I AM 99% sure it would be preordered atleast 10.000 times....... Now then lets move into the area where LEGO did factor in multiple purchase. Black Gates..... they designed the set with purpose of purchasing it ATLEAST twice (they said that themselves right) and then they make a totally dumb move of putting 3/5 figs named characters...... seriously? Now I did not even buy 1 set of that, because I want two, but I dont want to support their dumb move of selling us named figs...... how can you consider such move of actually advertising multiple purchases and then putting in so many named characters..... even when i was a kid, and my grandfather bought me LEGO I hated it when i got Majistos, was so annoying, i always chose sets that had troops in now majistos, you got 1, thats fine, you did not need anymore, I threw them away.... We are mostly all awaare of that fact, however noone asked for a perfect or almost perfect recreation of the movies, but we did and still do ask, to complete the line and atleast give us figures we need to recreate the ''perfection'' ourselves....... Licensed themes are (to me) 80% about figures and 20% about display value..... If they end the line now, I will be left with a beautiful display of Helm's Deep with 100+ uruks and Rohan soldiers with Eomer and Gandalf assaulting them and saving Theoden, and a nice display of Bag End and whole fellowship + Saruman and Radagast and Thorin...... So much money will be left in my pocket, that I would want to spend it but LEGO is not delivering the ''correct'' figures in better settings.... But LEGO did have out 2 ''good'' castles at the ''same''(less than 24 months apart) time, King's Castle from Castle line + Helm's Deep
  9. Just fixing this, I could not bear Gondor battle pack without unique gondorian knight shield preferably new mold or atleast Roman soldier shield with print........ Oh and same goes here..... armored elf needs that unique shield...... they look so much better with that nicely done shields.........
  10. Well if they take an entire business into perspective they should also have taken a perspective of ''How should a set look and what to contain to be WORTHY of multiple purchases'' and sadly they took such perspective only in 1 set....... and thats Uruk-hai Army....... even the set where they ADVERTISED double purchase for the sake of the looks they put in figures that clearly speak against it...... perfect evidence of a failed decision for me....... Uruk-hai army pretty much flew off the shelves where i still see Elrond's council today........ In my ''small'' town of barely 20.000 inhabitans our local toy shop had to restock uruk-hai army 4 times and was never discounted but they stil lhave 1st batch of Elrond's council...... and I bet if youd replace Elrond's Council with the same looking wall just in white and put in 1 gondor soldier (with shield and spear and bow as secondary option) and Faramir in Gondor attire and helmet on horse + 4 Orcs and 2 with new helmets it would not be there anymore........ Uruk-hai army was amongst the first to be sold out and then retired and not restocked, so why would LEGO who you back up as looking over whole business perspective and when $$$ is the main motivation, not put out more similar sets....... I bought 15 uruk-hai armies 3 Helm's Deeps, 1 Mines of Moria, 3 Orc Forges, 1 Gandalf arrives and 1 Weathertop.......the guy in Toy shop told me I was the number 1 buyer of the whole town for Uruk-hai army and LOTR theme and gave me 1 Helm's Deep for 50% off as a thank you. In Other words 1 LOTR AFOL (me) bought more LOTR sets from wave 1, than a WHOLE town of 20.000 people (that surely has over 1000 kids + there are suburbs who shop in town so there is likely 30.000 people around that go to that shop for toys........ granted its only 1 town and only 1 toy shop but it is from Europe where Tolkien was first presented with his work so it has ''more'' legacy.... Fair enough, but they could still put Witch king in the battle of the black gates (now dont tell me LEGO cares for cannon cos we both know thats untrue) and replace him with Mouth that is (for everyone apart from true LOTR fans) an unknown character..... I dont want Minas Tirith, its impossible to do it and do it justice, But a cool White tower and courtyard (opposing Orthanc that can easily be modded into the Eye of Sauron would be good enough for MOC starting and then another Uruk-hai army repaint to army build Gondor + Mordor and possibly Haradrim...... I think LEGO did a bad business perspective on the line, Kids below 12 dont have any idea what LOTR is because LOTR is far more ADULT than Hobbit, and Adult LEGO fans, mostly would prefer different set choices if they ought to choose..... I am yet to see someone buying the Pirate ship in masses to make a great fleet...... the true Pirate fans think the ship looks ''not pirate enough'' because for true pure pirate fans ships ought to look like Imperial Flagship or Black Pearl/QAR and Black Seas Baracuda, not a boat with 3 seperate sails...... But ye I am not attacking you just argumenting over your reasoning... LEGO is aimed for kids, but LOTR is not a kid friendly theme, mainly because of reasons its adult oriented and because its more or less atleast 14+ if not even 16+ to actually understand it..... and I either think LEGO had no idea what to do with LOTR theme and just ''did it'' cos they got it in the package or they trully did a bad business plan because if its cancelled due to bad selling thats their design fault not ours really..... I just wont buy 20 Elrond's councils to show them I want more, Ill buy 20 Gondor battle packs though, and they saved me money, not me......
  11. By slow i meant, buy when you have cash..... LOTR is hard to army build, even uruks now...... I have 100+ some change and i got them for 4.20€ per fig at start (with sword and shield) now they're not going below 6.00€ for all of that....... You need a plan WHAT you want to army build in LOTR, I made a display of Helm's Deep assaulted by 100+ uruks and Eomer ''army'' of 14 Rohan soldiers with Gandalf coming to rescue Theoden and company...... that display alone is worth around 800€ i paid around 600€ for it....... so go do some maths now.... and i bought Rohan soldiers when they were around 4.50€ per fig now you cant get them below 10.00€
  12. Yes but ok lets assume faefrost is right and licenser decides what sets should be made............... so do you guys believe WB would trully on purpose leave out Gondor and Witch king and Balrog? It sounds totally dumb to me..... afterall they would want the best sales, not the worst..... Yeah its all logical up to the part where there are atleast 3-4 possible sets that would INCREDIBLY boost sale (IMO) that are currently not made for unknown reasons...... and the illogical part is the fact that both LEGO and WB would logically want money, so why were those sets not created...... do you personally believe that WB would demand Pirate Ship to be made over Oliphant or is that LEGOs decision Its also hard to compare to sw because your 20-30% effectively means like 2 sets in LOTR current arsenal of sets........... so you think WB asked for 2 sets that must be done (theoretically) and rest is LEGO choice and WB does not care as long as its under Movie material only? To me personally it feels (more and more) WB sold both licenses together and only discussed Hobbit part and told LEGO do with LOTR more or less as you please except contract says that it must be heavy on builds (not like SW bpacks) because thats the only way to explain such irrational and less pleasing sets for public that probably broungt less revenue :)
  13. Well from Hobbit line I doubt anything would really sell good.......... the Erebor entrance might be the most ''Collector'' valued due to the size and the display value (except for Rivendell) everything else so far was not trully on par with Argontah, Minas Tirith, Minas Ithil etc......
  14. I think currently I have about 2000-2500 parts, but atleast 300-400 are accessories like food, shovels, pickaxe, weapons, hairpieces etc...... Then there are like 1000 1x1 round tiles and 300 1x4 tiles that means I have less than 1000 parts to build...... well unless I take apart all my sets displayed :P
  15. Rivendell is already done, that would be utter waste of UCS set......
  16. I dont have enough pieces to MOC big creations so I limit myself on smaller creations aka Vignettes that are about 50-200 pieces..... Ill try something with 2000 pieces when i reach 10.000 pieces sometimes next year.
  17. BUT if Licenser aka WB in this case decides which sets are to be made, doesnt that mean LEGO has to give us those sets if they signed contract? If you words are correct then if WB decided we ought to get Gondor in wave 3, we will get it then, cos LEGO has no word in it.....
  18. Yes this is the only Minas Tirith Idea that looks in scale and looks fairly good if not excellent..... if i remember that was 4000 pieces or a little more right? But a set like this needs atleast 15 figures.....
  19. Well I will buy this Erebor set for the box art and keep it sealed, after its 30% off.... thats a sealed deal..... Will skip the 2 middle sets and try to get 2-3 of Witch king set once discounted a bit :)
  20. Amazon Germany has had every hobbit set for 30%+ discount at some point...... its very simple, when you see Amazon carrying a set for 30%+ discount you buy it and NOT wait for a better discount.....
  21. you do it slow.... I had a great seller that i totally emptied, he had armored uruhs for 3,25€ a piece, bought 10x each time (3x) then that was it...... Rohan soldiers are the problem really. 11€ is just over the top.....
  22. Well the only good thing (if that would be true) would be then it would be 120€ in Europe and with usual 30% off that would put the set below 90€ (86 to be precise) mark which would make it purchase worthy in my book...... 30$ and 70$ sets I would only purchase if discounted for mroe thna 30%, Erebor is 30% and Witch King I would mass purchase for 30% off :)
  23. Except that it makes the set totally out of logic (afterall Eomer was the one throwing spear on and killing the Oliphant, I would not mind....... Faramirs most logical place to be would be 1. Osgilliath 2. Oliphant Ambush (but that removes any Rohirrim or Haradrim) 3. Forbidden Fountain (removes conflict) 4. Hall of Kings (Minas Tirith) Now personally i (if possible) would then want him in option 1...... since if Oliphant has Rohirrim on horse + Eomer on Horse it would be way better to armybuild for the sake of Pelennor fields battle..... Haradrim Ambush while offering a nice Diorama layout would be (for me) less interesting.
  24. I dont mind brick built Oliphant, Chima version looks decent enough for skeleton start, but now give us correct colors and no trans stuff and add Eomer on horse, + 1 more Rohan soldier on horse then oliphant Commander + 2 archers and 1 haradrim on foot with shield and spear and newly molded helm.... would be perfect, oh and 1 of the 2 horses should be palomino style...... could not ask for more really :P
  25. Well if thats their intention they are failing it with AFOLs heavily especially those above 16 if not above 14 already....... I loved Dragon Knight sets in 1992, you know why? Cos there was not Majisto in EVERY set..... Kids dont care that much for LOTR especially, not even for Hobbit, majority of kids watch Ninjago and Chima, the actual kids, those 12+ or 14+ or even 16+ care more for logical purchases and are not as easily enticed...... some stil lare but more and more are less and less inticed with having the same characters over and over again (that are named)
