The thing is so far kingdoms was the best line after Falcons Black Knights and that astonishing Black Knight's Castle...... together with those Outlaws with Den and Forestmen.... The only thing Kingdom lacked was more waves with 1-3 more factions and interesting stuff including some more civilian buildings (Like the Farm) The thing that turns me off of a theme is the lack of factions, I really want 3+ factions in theme..... now if Im ok with LOTR having 2 factions of Good vs Evil, in made up themes like generic Castle (or pirates and else for that matter) I find it kinda unacceptable, despite understanding the move from TLG point of view.

Can i get official that it failed? Liek some actual proof not your made up believe things please?

You know what would be funny if Castle 2016 really is just new wave of LOTR.....
-
Mumak should be atleast 60$ set really.... it needs 4 figs (minimum) 2 archers + chief and Legolas..... now if we would get a Rohan soldier (Eomer prolly) on horse with spear and shield, that would be amazing for armybuilding, but id be happy even without him..... The problem is if there is a choice between brick built Balrog + Gandalf and 1(or2) moria orc (with new helmet) against battle pack of Gondor soldiers and orcs(4 orcs + Faramir(on horse in Gondor attire) and Gondor Soldier with new shield and spear), what would you pick :P :P :P Id prolly pick Battle pack (90%) Well tbh, the Mumak on poster looks amazing, I would not hate having it like that tbh....

When will those crying for closure of LOTR thread apologize?

Sadly I cannot agree https://ideas.lego.com/projects/70809 This version above is far better looking Minas Tirith (still bad compared to actual thing, but a far better and more in size of itself) than the one that reached 10.000 votes, It just happened to be the ''1st'' one I guess, but far from the best one. Remember this, the next time you criticise your goverment or anything ;) Guess in your world, we have to agree or be quiet, critique is strongly forbidden.

Sorry but NujuMetru has absolutely 0 credit, because hsi creation just happened to be there and most advertised, despite not being the best looking and many members here kept ''forcing'' it to the public so that ''atleast 1 Mians Tirith'' reaches 10k supporters...... I did not even supported it, and I love LOTR, Gondor and Minas Tirith, I supported the one that actually looked decent. As for the picture on video goes.... I surely hope that most right White monstrosity is NOT Minas Tirith....... id be happier if they reject it then.... however the left thingy near the lady looks decent, just needs some height and a Grond and Id be ok with it :P

Yesterday i watched Return of the King and realised just how many things are missing especially Gondor wise...... its just unforgivable for LEGO to pick up a license and pretty much leave out the most important adversary of Mordor and Sauron........

Ents were mentioned as shepards of the trees when that Valar went crying to Manwe that Aule's dwarves will ruin the trees, and then Manwe decided that only Aule's ''trees'' (mountains) will be high enough for Eagles to live ''in'' and through the trees the shepards/keepers of trees shall walk. Thats from Silmarillion at start, before Elves came. Even before war with Morgoth, BUT Balrogs the fallen Maiars are definetly older.

Why do people keep thinking Treebeard is so important and such recognizable character of LOTR franchise to be worthy of its own set.... Treebeared is far less interesting and recognizable than Balrog is for example... The fact its not written down is the fact it can be what YOU want it to be. thats it.... but everyone has a right to dream afterall so dream away :P Treebeared is a walking tree, thats it, oh and he taks slowly aswell.... a couple of Fire arrows and no water = burned ''dead'' Tree
-
Reps know nothing..... besides OBVIOUSLY noone will confirm it because then it loses the army building appeal..... Now you can decide what it is, for oyu it can be treebeard, for me it can be a normal ENT thats attacking Isengard.... and thus I can buy more and make an army, which I would less likely do if it would be written Treebeard on the box.... see the psychology.... it is Treebeared and its not, whatever YOU want it, it is.

I am not saying to demand a million $ set cos it looks good, but the set with most votes is pretty ugly......... i supported only 1 of the sets, that met my standards (minimum ones) for a LEGO Minas Tirith, and refuse to support anything else, regardless of the goal................................... LEGO ideas are meant to be for you to support vote for sets YOU LIKE not what you calculate over parameters of chances and so on and on..........
-
You have to also take in account that LOTR fans are mostly AFOLs........... and AFOLS are demanding......... I for one did not support any ideas about LOTR or Tolkien world except the one Minas Tirith (which imo is the only one that can suffice my absolutely minimum standards for a set with WHOLE Minas Tirith)

To be quite honest, The Gates had majority of action (and the 1st wall, well 2nd if we nitpick that outer rim is also a wall) like 75%........... so a 140$ Gates of Mians Tirith + Grond with 40$ wall would cover majority of action........ The only trully memorable scene is Witch king destroying Gandalfs staff, Denethor throwing over the wall and ofcours the 1st sight of Gandalf arriving to Minas Tirith......... rest is neglectable in terms of action or sight seeing value. Ok and the crypts, but i never saw those in any MOC or idea The only thing we really need is 140$ Gates with 7 figs + Troll and 40$ wall extension a copy from UHA...... and then Witch King showdown set and possibly Balrog anything above that is cherry picking in terms of importance (as far as the figs and scenes go)
-
LOL As copy paste i meant buildings not height of it, obviously it would have to be adjusted, but still the core remains the same, Hall of Kings + White tower and courtyard with white tree.... 2500 pieces 200-240$ ....
-
Ofcourse, BUT thats why a perfect option for Minas Tirith would be: 40$ wall addon (same as Helm's Deep battle pack) 120$ or 140$ Battle of Minas Tirith = Grond + Gates with play function of destroying gates 200$ exclusive Minas Tirith Courtyard Pretty much copy this picture into LEGO set for 200$ Now you have 3 sets, 1 perfectly suited for kids (120-140$ range) with memorable scene of battering down the gates, you have a perfect addon (again okish for kids and AFOLS) and you have pure cherry pick of the tower of Ecthelion for AFOLs again for a solid price 200$...... with those 3 pieces hardcore LOTR fans could buy multiples and make their own Minas Tirith that looks way better, kids would get the most essential play ground part (Gates and maybe 1 wall) and army builders could build armies of Orcs and Gondorians from the battle pack and get loads of white bricks to sell to Mians Tirith builders/modders. WIN-WIN-WIN Now the only problem that I can see is the fact that LEGO would probably be hesitant to release a WHITE TOWER exclusive with already having Orthanc out..... but such is the importance of both towers that despite LEGO views it would be essential that we got both, if not 3 actually :P
-
Do they have cash to buy 2x Black Gates as advertised for the full build? Probably no, kids got 1..... so where is the problem

https://ideas.lego.com/projects/70809 This one, much better and in better proportions with itself (no giant trebuchets, and its dimensions and scale is proportionate in terms of measures compared to the other one) The above one is the best Minas Tirith up to date I have personally seen built or ''built'' it also has a ''realistic'' piece count for a set (a little less than 4000) and still looks good. The most supported Minas Tirith is not half as good looking as this one really.
-
Its such a shame, that more supports go to the lesser version of Minas Tirith...... when another version out there is sooooo much better.
