Yeh but thats the biggest problem with LEGO and LOTR ..... They care about sales (all logical and accepted) but then they make illogical decisions based on first logical assumption that they care for sales..... Had we gotten 4 same sets like Uruk-hai army was just different figs and different builds - 4 Moria Orcs + Boromir + Gimli (and a part of Moria) - 4 orcs + Legolas + Aragorn (and a part of Amon hen) the sales would skyrocket...... And thats just 2 simple sets.... LEGO doomed their own sales with set decisions.....

Exactly average price of LEGO per kilo (KG) varies between 10€ - 20€ in Europe, it really depends on 2 important factors: 1. is it pure LEGO and not mixed 2. Is it clean?

Hello dear AFOLs.... I have 1 question.... Was anyone in this LEGO shop in Vienna lately and can report what is in the PAB wall....???? Or is anyone going in the next 14 days (before 7th August) ??? I would love to hear what available since I am planing on going there on a trip (4 hour drive) on the 9th.... so I can prepare what and how to fill my PAB cups Thanks in advance!

It doesnt really matter how many times it happens, I am looking for a semi logical explanation, that does not make builders on a level 1 dumb user for instructions :P Ill still probably buy it soon!

Ok lets assume they made the decisions 2 years ago when movies were split in 3..... Why keep the 4 set decision then,,, they could indeed add 2 more + 1 exclusive andm ake it the same as wave 1 and please 99%.... (Faramir, Eowyn, Witch King and Gondor soldier) 2 sets could contain 4 most needed and wanted figs with 1 unique shield and unique molded helm for soldiers of Gondor and a few new printings and witch king mold (instead of Mouth wtf!) I really dont know, but it seems weird and ridiculous to say the least..... If LOTR is done, this will truly be the biggest missed opportunity for LEGO ever...

Yes ofcourse I am not like crying, I just feel ''sad'' because I will/would haven o use of them in my creations and yes I also know I can sell them or even donate them :D I also wrote countless under '' '' exactly because its not really loads, I just think personally even if its 1 its 1 too many :P I am not getting worked over due to that fact, just find it weird and how would I word it properly...... :P And yes the fact that those might be the ''only'' ones currently widely available its entirely possible and I understand its just too bad :P

I think you and missed my point quite heavily..... its not about swapping them, its about buying Orthanc which looks 100% black (dark) only to then use it for MOCs where ''countless'' pieces fall from usage due to colors...... when I do MOCs I almost always use only ''earthern'' colors, since I mostly build landscape (so green, brown, tan, gray black and all those mentioned tones (olive green etc)) so chances of using red technic connector are pretty much 0, while I could easily use black/brown one...... yes I know i can bricklink them, but you would think when you buy a set for 200€ that you get the feeling its 100% dark, you wont receive orange, yellow and bright red colors in the build, atleast not in form of bricks and technic connectors.... Also dont tell me http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ogJzkvtOjyA/U8TSeNy5WXI/AAAAAAAANOg/WanQErgfIao/s1600/P1130194.JPG those red two swapping with black would change the difficulty of finding where to connect them.... thats almost insulting to the brains of builders imo.

Yes but that passes for ''small'' builds or builds for actual children... Orthanc is 16+ and a 16 year ''kid'' or older I expect to be able to build a build even with all black pieces.... its not that hard is it?

Well I would assume someone buying and building Orthanc is not a rookie builder and not 10 years old really, but its atleast a logical assumption The problem I have with that is, that its alot harder for me to reuse such parts in MOCs due to colors....

Possibly... we can all hope.... But the best I hope for, is that theory of wave 2 for both Hobbit and LOTR being split due to 3rd movie is true, and next year December we get 6 or so sets 4 LOTR + 2 hobbit with the Blue ray release of both Hobbitand LOTR collection + 2 LOTR polybags preferably Gondor Ranger and some bad guy maybe a new Orc or even Gothmog.... And we get 2 Hobbit sets, whatever, maybe another extension to Erebor (20$ set) like the one for Dol Guldur and then we get 26.99$ set Balrog with Gandalf and possibly another Boromir, and a few bigger sets including Gondor soldier(with unique helm + shield), Faramir, Eowyn and Witch king on fel beast..... that would be enough for me :P

Do you think thats intended? Because to me such variety in colors really annoys my re-sage if I want to create something and MOC cos those colors are so bright it destroys my ''earthern'' feel.... Is there any explanation why such bright green, yellow orange red are used as fillers that are not seen on the end model, is it cheaper for LEGO to produce those colors or do they have them leftover or what?

Exactly, now it only depends if such theory is likely or possible..... I sincerely hope it is, and they left out the best 3-4 sets of LOTR for last (including Balrog, Gondor soldiers/rangers and possible Witch king on the fields of Pelennor.

Well it depends if you accept or think the following theory is likely.... Wave 2 of Hobbit (and LOTR) was split in half after announcement of the 3rd movie for Hobbit and 2 polybags for Hobbit wave 2 and 0 polybags for LOTR and in the wave 3 it would be the other way around, so we get 4 polybags for each theme..... If you think such theory is likely possible or you believeits true, then that would indicate 0 polybags for Hobbit wave 3..... But that would also indicate LOTR wave 3 next year which would include 2 polybags.... :P

The thing is, even if Hobbit sets do outstanding I do not think (granted its ''retired'' theme) LEGO can launch production cycle fast enough to hope for 2015 release of LOTR then....... If we are supposed to get LOTR in 2015, it means plans should be in motion about now :)

The problem is Hobbit is quite thin on the factions and especially on characters.... we got the dwarves, we got Bilbo, Smaug, Gandalf and Dain and Bard and even Thraunduil/Radagast/Witch King So what is left to do...... elven soldiers in armor and unique helm mold/ shield mold..... and thats pretty much it...... What would you put in this D2C set? What would be its showpiece ???? The only thing that looks really good is the entrance to Erebor with those 2 dwarven statues..... Rivendel would be a HUGE let down imo especially since we already have it atleast partially

The only thing is, the next 12 months = July 2015 not December 2015 :) So he might be right and LOTR might still come.....

If there is 0 appeal in Silmarillion then there is even less in LOTR and Hobbit..... Silmarillion is far grander and more diverse than LOTR and Hobbit can ever be.... far more to work with.... if Hobbit can be doen in 3 movies Silmarillion could be 30 movies or 60 Episodes easily......

Eowyn if done will highly likely have hair on her, to make 100% disctinction I just dont see LOTR making a mold for her helm, somehow....

Yes he is.... Thats why I am saying its 99% not the last Tolkien movie to be made... allthought it quite well be the last one for those over 50 since I dont see another made for quite a long long time.

You can far easier create Eowyn and Faramir(out of gondor soldier) if we get one Gondor soldier with uniquely molded helm and shield..... Its all we TRULY need... unique shield and unique helm with new torso and leg printing... head whatever it is.....

It will never be the LAST ...... I bet sometime down the road Silmarilion will be made.... 1000% Not yet, but some times....
