Those decals really make it stand out! Who said Lego wasn't capable of prototype modeling?

Well done! Sorry to see Peter has ran out of paper ;)

I really like HO Trains, but they are really expensive and time consuming, so I don't have a full layout yet; and the only time I get to drive HO Trains is if I go to a local club track and bring my Trains with me. I also railfan, but I'm still a bit of an amateur at it, I don't have a scanner radio so I mostly chase local trains or visit museums to get train photos. I like video games, but since I'm in college I left my Xbox 360 at home so I wouldn't have it as a distraction in my dorm room. I'm also waiting for some snow and money to go skiing this winter! It's been 2 and a half years since my last chance to go skiing.

REVIEW: #7467 International Space Station
xboxtravis7992 replied to Kai NRG's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I have this set, but sadly it's torn to bits right now... Agreeded that it is disappointing the set represents the ISS in 2003, because it looks so bare compared to the finished station. -
Even better, it would make Lego City a more "connected theme" for example with my Oil Refinery idea, it could connect to a number of other sets such as: The Haz-Mat Fire Truck included in the Oil Refinery could fit the garage of a Lego City Firehouse. The rail connection and tank cars would easily connect to a standard Cargo Train set. The railline could be expanded further to connect to an "Oil Field"set which would include an Oil Pump, a few workers, a work truck, and a few more rail tanker cars. The Oil Refinery could have a loading dock to to connect to a tanker truck which could be included with a Lego Gas Station. The Gas Station could fuel any Lego vehicle... ... Thus linking it to the police set when the police figures go to get gas for their cars. In a sense, it would make the Lego City line less of a series of separate buildings, but a connected " Collect them all" layout, kind of like what Harry Potter Sets did for Hogwarts Castle back in 2001. Any train, police, firemen, car, and other city sets could be advertised working together.
-
Maybe they should then incorporate more train stuff into the city theme like this: #4**** Freight Dock Showdown Help the Lego City Police track the crooks to their dockside hideout! Beware the crooks using the freight crane above to hide their stolen goods. Inspect the parked train cars to find out where the crooks are hiding! Watch out for their escape boat! Or maybe: 4**** Oil Refinery Fire Help the Lego City Firemen stop the oil fire! Arrive to the scene in a special Haz-Mat truck. Keep the fire from spreading to the parked rail tanker cars! Save the day with the Lego City Firemen! That would get AFOLs to stop complaining about all the police and fire sets each year!

Amtrak GE B32-8WH /w Passenger Consist - WIP!
xboxtravis7992 replied to legoman666's topic in LEGO Train Tech
New locomotive? Nice. I like the WIP pictures, its good for guys like me who haven't built a GE style cab before (those danged angles!) -
For some reason I imagine Yularen was a man of duty; who participated in the Empire not because he was evil: but because he had a duty to perform. Nice fig and review. I want one :)

A YouTube channel for Eurobricks?
xboxtravis7992 replied to YellowCorvette's topic in Forum Information and Help
^Spoiler Alert :) If you guys do make a YouTube channel I hope the videos are short, I can hardly stand watching through some videos on BZp or TTV because they can be ridiculously long rants with a static background image. I'll call it the "Let's Play Minecraft Principal;" I.e. a short highlight video of a particular Minecraft map (5 minutes) is more interesting then an hour long map tour video hosted by the voice of the squeaky teenager from The Simpsons... Same with Lego reviews, a 5 minute video can tell me more than a 20 minute video. -
Nice to hear I'm not alone here! I am waiting for the money to get Ekimu and Skull Basher; and I only have two Protectors and a Skull Warrior. Gotta envy the guys who get the complete wave! Then again thanks to a temporary job the 2015 wave of Bionicle is the first time since 2006 that I assembled a full team of Toa! So no complaints... Anyway back to the topic: does anybody know the names for the summer villains yet?

The only time I have seen MOD's being direct with members is 1: Spam 2: Trolls 3: Leaked Pictures (which is a no-no in almost all Lego websites). Seeing that, I think that actually makes this community better, since it is a lot more civil than the crap going on in other fan communities. In short, keep it up!

Fallout 4 - Red Rocket Refuelling Station
xboxtravis7992 replied to Rolli's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Not a fan of Fallout; so I don't know the source material, but this is an excellent build. Works great as both a post-apocalyptic build, or an abandoned gas station on a rural highway. -
Yeah, now that I have the 2015 Toa, I don't know if I'll make the effort to get all the 2016 ones. But the creatures are rather well done in the photos I have seen. Umarak has some ugly features, but looks like he'll match the Skull Army well, plus he has the Mask of Control! Besides if Umarak is a marked improvement over LoSS... Then we should have some good villains in the summer wave!

The Casey Jr. ride at Disneyland would make an interesting narrow gauge prototype: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/attractions/disneyland/casey-jr-circus-train/ I think it runs on a gas engine: but has been at work since 1955... That's a longer life than most diesel units we like to model. But if you want a more realistic Disney train, then the steam locomotives at Disneyland and Disney World are iconic, and run on the same 3' gauge track commonly used in the U.S. steam era.

Very nice. I like it without paint. I once saw an RDC in a rail yard on a road trip through Nevada, yours looks spot on.

My tiny little gentle modification of 75094 is in progressing
xboxtravis7992 replied to billyamy's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Nice, took a normal set and made it look like a UCS set, well done. -
^Its gonna be three years since our last Creator Expert Train pretty soon... At least we have had a few City train releases to fill our time. I noticed there was a Creator set without a picture on the Italian magazine Brickset leaked, I got all excited it was a Creator Train until I put it into Google Translate and realized it was just the Winter Toy Shop... Grrrrr.

I say we just promote Octan and shove it down Greenpeace's face... Sad to see Shell go. Seeing Lego is made of plastic though, it means every Lego set promotes big oil. Cheers.

Are Chinese Bricks getting, Better?
xboxtravis7992 replied to xboxtravis7992's topic in General LEGO Discussion
^ We are all agreed on the low quality of knockoffs: but the real question is to answer is if official Lego made in China is getting better (as in the collectable minifigures) -
I have seen a lot of bootlegs like this before but never bought any. Thanks for the review of this strange side of our hobby!

Just curious what other Lego related websites Eurobricks members visit, or have accounts on. I myself have an account here, Brickset, BZpower, MOCpages, Bricklink, and Brickshelf. Where are you guys at?

What was your first lego set?
xboxtravis7992 replied to Chilly_Productions's topic in General LEGO Discussion
My memory is vague: if I don't count a few McDonalds promo things (which I am not sure when I got them) my first Lego set was either 6454-1 Countdown Corner (http://brickset.com/sets/6454-1/Countdown-Corner) or maybe 7140 X-Wing Fighter (http://brickset.com/sets/7140-1/X-wing-Fighter). Although they were sets released in 1999, I want to say I got them as gifts back in 2000 (I have a memory of my Grandma pointing out that the solar panels on Countdown Corner had the number 2000 on them so I could remember the year I got it). What I do remember clearly was my first Bionicle set 8538 Lewa (http://brickset.com/sets/8535-1/Lewa). I remember buying it at Wal-Mart and then my mom making me do my homework before I could open it! -
How do you display your models? With or without stickers?
xboxtravis7992 replied to hallonsylt's topic in LEGO Star Wars
With stickers, I stick to the instructions that way.
