  1. Rumors of a sixth summer set? Even if it's for a sudden finale, it's cool to think Lego expedited something for it. If it's a large Makuta set with the two Legendary Mask we haven't got yet, I'm game.
  2. Agreed, weathering and scale modeling is for my HO stuff; not my Lego!
  3. I've never tried it, but now that you mentioned it compressed air might do the trick! The roofs on my older modular buildings are due for this kind of TLC...
  4. Exactly. As much as I would love to see old Bionicle masks in new sets again Lego has no reason to do it. Even in 2010 when Lego did a Tahu in his classic 2001 style, they made a new part from scratch for his mask, rather than reusing the original; despite how the two designs are very similar. It's also a factor in why if Lego ever did a new Monorail system, it would be NEW from the ground up. The old track while classic and valuable has no purpose in being resurrected. (In my opinion the original Monorail looked less like a Monorail and more like a People Mover or elevated Tram since the car didn't straddle the beam as an ALWEG Monorail and it's successors do in real life...)
  5. Wow this series is truly the first minifigure series to pull me in like this. Today I found Minnie Minerva Mouse and pulled a second Syndrome (I thought it was a Malifecent, maybe next time). Special thanks to whoever mentioned Minnie's skirt piece rattles rather loud, all I had to do was identify the head mold then shake the bag a bit. And with that I now have 12 figures from the series, only 6 more to go! 2/3 of the way there! Also I hope series two becomes a reality. Scratch that, I want to see this go to series 3!! I'd love to see more Disney classic characters ala Goofy, Pluto, and maybe even Oswald. Also more figures from newer films to! Quora and Finn from Tron Legacy, Anna and Elsa, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider; maybe even some new versions of the Pirates of the Caribbean characters. Or old classics like Mary Poppins or 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Theme park characters would be great (Hatbox Ghost anyone?). I'd also love it if they produced a minifigure actually based on Walt Disney himself. If they ever did a series 3 they could have a young 1920's Walt in one series and an older 1960's "Uncle Walt" in another.
  6. Two words from that leak: Tie Striker
  7. There is a point I understand from that post, people who create poor Ideas projects oftentimes support great Ideas projects. And I will admit I had forgotten to consider that action. But, for those who want to find those great projects; I think Ideas is unnecessarly cluttered by the poor projects many of which have been highlighted here. Yes I'm glad the creators of low quality projects are supporting other projects, but low quality Ideas tend to make it hard for me at least to find the great ones.
  8. Wow great! I want to MOC an Omnidroid for my Syndrome figure one day. Great use of the planet dome!
  9. Yeah it's like I said earlier, the Civil War wave isn't accurate by "rivet counting" standards, but by Lego standards it's pretty good. Each set can be used to recreate a scene in the film, even if the color and design of vehicles are a bit off. Overall a huge improvement over the debacle of the Iron Man 3 set accuracy issues! No flaming zambonis this time!
  10. Oh gosh don't make me think about it! :( Then again, who knows how old the kid was? If he's a teenager who lost interest in Lego, maybe his mom viewed it as clutter. Glad though a serious FOL was able to buy the collection instead of it being lost in random places.
  11. There is a long list of Roxxon cameos in the MCU according to Wikipedia. I guess it's just very subtle. Although the funniest Roxxon cameo for me was the Agents of Shield episode with the man who became a ghost because of a partical accelerator. That was a funny episode to watch because the location "Batesville, Utah" threw my family of at first, then we Googled it and as it turns out Batesville was a pioneer name for one if the areas in our valley now known as Erda. We then spent the rest of the episode commenting how Batesville on Agents of Shield looked more like the street from Desperate Housewives than it looked like the real life Erda ;D
  12. What do those rankings mean? Does that mean Lego views rank 1 as Big Bangs and Evergreens, and then it drops down in classification?
  13. I don't have a lot of Technic MOC's but when I saw this thread I just had to chime in, just excuse the focus more on Bionicle and System MOCs: This is a digital "recreation" of my first Bionicle MOC; when I was seven years old http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6390909 Another Bionicle one, when I entered a BZpower contest in 2006: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=2177901 And a whole MOCpages post dedicated to the rainbow warriors of old: http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/357049
  14. Yes!!!! That's going to save me from buying a few AoU sets. Vision-Hawkeye-Spidey all in one fell swoop!
  15. Wow! I want one to throw minifigures into! ;)
  16. Actually the Helicarrier is the only small nod that Agents of Shield exists from the movies:
  17. A few goodies: P-38 "Magna Guard Starfighter" - An obscure Episode 3 ship we got as a model thanks to The Clone Wars. It feels decent to swoosh around, and it's similarity to the US Army Air Corp's "Lighting (1)" aircraft from WWII helps sell the model to me. Original AT-AT: Other than the fragile neck connection this is a near perfect rendition of the AT-AT... from the yellow faced licenced minifigure era none the less! Oh and it's old gray bricks help it look more battle hardened than the newer Star Wars sets do. The First Empire Battle Pack (2008): the silly blue dropship ain't canon, but is fun and represents a rarely seen Lego "original design" in the Star Wars theme. The inclusion of three regular stories and one shadow trooper was icing on the cake.
  18. No kidding about how Lego could increase interest in Scale Modeling alive. I've been a Lego fan my whole life but am now trying to branch out into HO scale (still slow going though, L-Gauge is easier to screw around with since I have a lot of Lego! It's taking a long time to build that HO collection especially once I start rivet counting... :P Plastic bricks are easier.)
  19. I bought myself a Protector of Ice a few days back at the Lego Store in Anaheim California. It was amazing, they had a lot of 2015 sets from all themes; including most of the Protectors. Now the only two Protectors I don't own are the Jungle and Stone ones; but I figure someday I'll just Bricklink them since the only unique pieces to them is the masks (and due to a small Bricklink mistake I already own the Protector of Stone's Mask!) I will have to give my Protector of Ice proper wrists though. I can't believe they used the same stupid wrist design on both Narmoto's and the PoI.
  20. A few pointers: Learn from official sets, UCS sets, Modulars and other Direct to Consumer sets often use methods found in good MOCs. Learn how to use LDD. Sometimes we feel like poor MOCers not due to our skill but due to our poor brick selection. LDD has unlimited bricks, and if you are patient enough to learn it it can unlock your full potential. Download Blue Render from here on Eurobricks to get a good view of your LDD MOCs. As mentioned if you want to do a commisioned piece from a favorite MOC builder be prepared to pay up the wazoo. Not only will they ask for money to pay for the bricks, but they will probably ask for money for compensation for the time it took to design the MOC, build it, package it, and ship it. Of course there are some cases where you can ask for a MOC assuming you don't want to own it! In those cases the MOC builder will build what you want, then send you photos. This method is probably free since the MOC builder is using his own bricks... But you might never get to see the MOC in person let alone own it. Usually if a builder is doing this for you it is for a special building event on the forums. So as stated, brushing up your own skills and learning to do it yourself is the best way.
  21. Yeah for those who have watched the Agents of Shield; having Coulson return to the films would be a great moment after watching the series. I once read a critic saying it's strange every event in the films affect Agents if Shield, yet Agents of Shield has yet to have a big effect on the movies (for example, no mention of the growing Inhuman population during the events of Civil War). Eventually the movies need to take something from Agents of Shield to make it meaningful; even if Coulson doesn't return to film someone like Agent May or Quake should have a film role. Besides with all these rumors that Daredevil and friends will show up in future films, why not Agents of Shield? While I don't know for sure it does seems Agents of Shield has a larger viewing base due to being on a main TV channel and having a TV-14 rating. The TV-MA rating and Netflix distribution probably restricts a bit of Daredevil's following. So if rumors be true Daredevil is coming to the films, why can't Agents of Shield follow suit?
  22. I'm not sure how Lego representatives would feel sitting at the same table as 3rd party parts suppliers. From a corporate view it probably seems Brick Arms, Big Ben, ME Models etc doesn't have much difference in Lego's eyes than Ban Boa, Kreo and Megablocks do. I know from a FOL perspective there is a large difference between those custom suppliers and clone brands, but I don't know if TLG would see that opinion... But yes I never thought about how since Lego is the only L-Gauge manufacturer, they really rule the "standards" themselves. It's not like the NMRA needs to create flange guides and track gauges for other manufacturers, since Lego does it on its own... an NMRA liason would be redundant. But I am glad to hear from Zephyr the NMRA kind of has this branch of the hobby in their minds.
  23. ^What he said really :) Waiting for actual news on the Winter Train Set, instead of just speculation.
  24. Good point! I'd love to see an episode with Spedy in MAoS. Anyway, does anyone else want to see Coulson back in the MCU films? I know they'd have to briefly explain how he is alive for those who don't watch MAoS, but I want to see Tony's face when Phil walks up to him for the first time since his death.
  25. The nice thing if we get the Partners Statue is there is one in both Florida and California.
