  1. Heh, I didn't add them to my bookmarks or anything, no-siree.... After getting over the mind wo0t from those agents pics, I have to say that I know my theme for 2009. The lack if Space Police in the UK means I will have to go to supreme effort (reserved for Zoids really) to get hold of, I think nagging my uncle to pick up the impulse sets and a ship when he goes to Canada is my best bet. Therefore most of my money for toys will go on Agents Not to mention the 2008 sets I still don't have.
  2. Vig. 59a (Thumbnail links to my MOC page) Quoted from the MOC page: "The brave Thaddeaus K Longflare captain of the Jolly Bob was sad to see his ship sink but grateful for the small islet that provided refuge. In the days since his unintentional marooning he built a shack from his sadly broken ship. He and Uncouth (the ship's parrot) sit with the treasure, awaiting rescue." I bought the Pirate Building Set today and rediscovered the joy of a box of plain bricks. I didn't really want to build any of the suggested models so I created one. There is a bit of SNOT involved too, but only very basic.
  3. You made it too hard Can't decide. I like Rock Raiders, Adventurers, Alpha Team and Aquanauts/Sharks from when I was younger. Exo Force came in just when I really got into mecha anime and Agents are the best theme in ages. It's too hard
  4. Want Agents. WANT.
  5. Yup. Granted it's in more of a comic book/ action film way now, than the childrens made up roleplaying. I build, I take apart when I need something for my MOC.
  6. Well, some major thread necromancy going on here... I didn't vote, the list is to old too be of any relevance any more, apart from the Bionicle, which is really really stretching the idea far too far. I liked the first and second series of Bionicle, then I got bored. Clickets was fine, however my sister is still picking up sets in clearance... No one wants them. The 4 Juniors stuff is great! I don't know what all the fuss is about but it is the perfect bridge between Duplo and regular Lego. Sturdy construction, medium sized elements and figures that don't break into tiny swallowable parts! Great for a child who has lost intrest in the large Duplo but who doesn't quite have the fine motor skills (or to put it a different way, the Finesse) to build a model out of "true" Lego bricks. It saved lots of frustration for my little brother, who outgrew his duplo and handed it down but couldn't quite sense the grip needed on a Lego creation. Remember guys, Lego is made for children and therefore has children in mind when making new themes!
  7. Space. The Female Insectoid is really cool, considering the ugly bugs that make up the rest of the "chracters" Town Res-Q was my first Town set Pirates. The new Female pirate =D From the first Castle set I bought, apart from hand me downs I had none until Knights Kingdom II From other themes I pick Cam from Alpha Team.
  8. That is excellent I have one suggestion though, one I was planning on using myself... The telescope elements in brown or gold would make fantastic steampunk lightsaber hilts, I had this idea and so I share it
  9. The best bit is the moulding of the hair means I didn't have to do anything to the goggles :classic,: no trimming or glue, they stick there nicely on their own. Glad you like them. My next figure is going to be Loz, but that needs parts I know I haven't got, so I have to wait until I have a nice big bricklink order to do.
  10. Yes. Often. Most of the time its a case of can't see the part amongst many, a bit of sepration later and I have the "missing" part. Once or twice a bag or a sticker sheet stays in the bottom of the box, but because I recylce my cardboard I always have the stack of boxes by me to search through. Most of the time I keep the box by me until I finish.
  11. Ta daa. My entry. There are rocks in it
  12. While "Inner Earth" sounds realy cool to the ears of us geeks/nerds and well read adults (If you are into fantasy and SF) it sounds sort of boring to the ears of your average seven year old, doesn't it? Now Power Miners sound "awesome" (as my little brother puts it). So LEGO changed the name to one that is quick, punchy and very discriptive that attracts their target demographic. Market Reasearch my friend... Market Research. I have to say, Inner Earth is evocative of many interestingy things. How about everyone try building a MOC that would fit into an Inner Earth theme (as you see it). Not really a contest or anything, but a cool idea presentation. I think I know what I am going to build today
  13. I have been wanting to make a Cid for a while now, however I thought I didn't have the parts... While browsing ebay I saw an auction with just what I was looking for, but on further examinatio I realised I had the parts myself So I made a Cid. I have plans to make a few more Final Fantasy figures, so I will add them here as I make them. So what do you think?
  14. Cliffhanger!
  15. Can I put the image on MOC pages to link it here?
  16. Clone Trooper Battlepack. Yay, useful parts!
  17. Zoid spares that are supposed to live in an old Slizer case and sometimes ping out into my mixed box, micro scale cars and once my missing action figure hand from my Square Enix play arts CLoud action figure, the box flipped over and catapulted the interchangeable hands over my lego. When I helped my dad sort my brothers lego I found bayblades and happy meal toys.
  18. That is great! I love miniscale starfighters... I can imagine a whole fleet in battle.
  19. Poor you! I have only had this with my very vintage Lego, and even then its only after they get stuck under a storage box/trodden on. However lots of people have been mentioning cracking plastic before, so you aren't the first and probably wont be the last.
  20. It wasn't a heated argument, it was just someone who had got an idea in their head similar to this :v: And I was pointing out that they are sets and can be built any way you want. As for with my friend, we have good natured (although he can push me a bit too far on some occasions) "heated discussion" all the time. I was fresh from an encounter with some 'norms' in TRU who had tried to persuade their child away from "boring toys you build, Why not get this action figure?" . Ho Hum. It's a good thing that most people do call them sets still. I wondered if it was universal (I cite LEGO vs Legos).
  21. Pirates and Power Miners are in the "big" ASDA supermarkets, or at least in Cwmbran they are. New Town and some Creator boxes (with the Fireman) are also on the shelves.
  22. Sometimes. A family friend worked in the local Woolworths ( ) and would roll her eyes, (mind you her husband has like as much Doctor Who as is humanely possible, he gets exactly the same reaction) and in ASDA when I got a whole bunch of sets I went to the self service and a shop assistant was mildly surprised when I said that on was for my little brother but the rest were mine, we had a short conversation on hobbies. I suppose people are most surprised because I am a girl. Some people comment on age, but I smile and say its a great stress reliever. The worst reactions are from teenagers, you know 14 year old chavs and emos. The giggle as I walk by sometimes. Ho Hum, Don't Worry, street cred isn't a fun thing, LEGO is
  23. That was what they were called apparently, the guy was moaning how LEGO was nothing like in his day and wasn't a ceative toy anymore. All because he decided they were "kits" now and only made one thing... That is the problem with what you call your lego i suppose.
  24. In two recent instances I have found myself arguing on the "classification" of LEGO boxed sets. One was upon another non-LEGO forum in which I was discussing the difference between the UK and Australia. I call LEGO models that come in the boxes (whatever the theme) Lego Sets. However in Australia they are called Kits (well they were by this guy anyway), which says to me something you build once and that's it, like Airfix or Kotobukiya. The Second time was with my friend, a model kit nerd who also called LEGO sets "kits". I have come across the aforementioned Kit (Something to be built and looked at) and Playset (which says to me something along the lines of a playmobile fire station or something, a toy that you don't build, just keep in one form to play with). Now I'm wondering what all of you call them. If you can understand a word I've said. Edited for grammer
  25. 1. LEGO is known for no limits in imagination.... 2. Making up your own rules is perfect in combination with LEGO products. 3. They are constructed from LEGO bricks, this means that they are still building toys. Families love the TT games and are quite likely to get something that is more communal and less electronic. Not trying to be argumentative, but all those con's aren't really there.
