I have noticed of late the large variety of sites people use to host their MOC pictures and got to wondering... What site(s) do you use and why? What sort of communities are on the non-LEGO specific hosting sites? and finaly: Do you find you get more traffic using a certain site? I use MOC pages as it was linked from wikipedia, shortly after I had internet access at home and started to explore LEGO online beyond Lego.com. I sometimes wonder if I would get more views and comments if I moved to or started using another site.

The new minifigs so far and for the future are pretty good. I do like the increase in female figures, it is certainly reaching a level we haven't had since 2000. For all I know a new lot will turn up that'll blow it all away (in a good or bad way) so I think i am going to wait until this time next year to let you know

Ok, so I keep my figures in a great big bowl, so I often have to get them all out and make sure all their headgear and held items are still on. My favourite figures which I use most often are stored in a smaller tub and all the dissassembled figures are kept in a screw sorter box by type (head, headgear, castle weapons, food, construction tools, etc)

Yes, I know maths can be hard. Calculus is evil and I am still yet to grasp it, but when someone slows the lecture down (its university lectures in Analytical Methods) to question why Pi is 3.14 (add infinitum)... It gets a little annoying, especialy when they don't go and seek extra help outside of the class... This same person is quite grating in that they treat a lecture as a conversation between themself and the lecturer (butting in, making irrelevant comments, and all those noises you make to let someone know you are listening) it gets a little frustrating. I'm sure everyone has encountered a person like this as they wander the highways and byways of education. Pet Peeves III. When the server dies at work, mid-way through some important task, losing anything you haven't saved and preventing you doing more any work. And the printer that needs constant attention due to phantom paper mis-feeds and ink cartridge issues... I would have been done a lot faster today if that printer would work without someone stood over it every second of the day.

Add that to the list of BRPD things I must have That is a fantastic fig!

Those are some really good pics! Does anyone else notice the similarities between the robotic Inferno guy's head and the UFO android heads from several years ago? That is rather cool if they are the same. I really want these, like, now

Pet Peeves II: My friend just trying to wind me up (guys, it's like throwing a firecracker on a bonfire, kay?) by saying purposefully fuse lighting phrases in a constant stream.. The knowledge that If I renamed a MOC on MOCpages and called it Star Wars I would have more comments and views in five minutes than I've had in three years on certain MOCs... My sister constantly acting like she is "grown up" when she is ten (and in her mind going on 16). On that note: Kids calling me weird because I play with Lego still. People who refuse to read books. There are so many out there that there must be one the'd like. People who complain that they "don't get it" in Maths, when the "it" in question is a constant and does not need "getting" but they still have to hold the lesson up. Ahrg. Well, now I have said all that I should probably feel less grumpy in work....

Where are we going to get them? Online only or regular retail? This is what I would like to know. The look so good.

That's cool. They look good. I'm planning a Rocket Redglare and a Tharg, maybe going to try modding a Jack Stone into Smax. I like Alan Moore's work

Not ever had any misprints myself. But you never know. I think they'd look pretty cool as random "creepy" easter egg features of a MOC

My friend watched it and proclaimed it "awesome" but he want's the Master Cut and the Directors Cut in July due to missing scenes that WB cut out. He also said I certainly would not like to see it as it is very faithful to the book (we had an argument over how faithful when he said Nite Owl went to see Adrian not Rorshach.... but there we go) and thus the violence is certainly not my cup of tea. He was so pleased with the film that "Anyone can do anything to any comic book while making a film and I won't care, because Watchmen was so good."

I was reluctant to join a community that discussed my favourite hobby, so I looked around and Google came up with Eurobricks when I searched LUG and AFOL. It looked ok so I jumped in.

A cheese slope with a stud on the slope could be very handy in many a SNOT and regular build. The stud instead of socket too. An element that fits snugly over these: to provide a similar effect that an inverted slope and a regular slope fit over each other.

New pieces or existing pieces in more colors
Peppermint_M replied to Eilif's topic in General LEGO Discussion
More colours. The parts we have are fantastic and great to work with. However I want more in new colours and more of them in the colours we have. -
Jammy Dodgers they make them not five miles from me, I work less than a mile away from the factory and they make everywhere smell wonderfull all day. (Sorry for the off topic post, but those buscuits are the best.)

Thank you. I think I will get Deep Sea Quest first then. It did seem to be a cool set. Swamp Raid will be next on the list

I buy some of most themes, Indy to go with my old favourite (Adventurers) Castle every now and then because I like history and as a child went to every castle in South Wales... My last most bought theme was Exo-Force as I adore mecha and love to build them and my new theme is Agents due to how fun it is. I love making space ships and SF cars, and things like that but in the end I just love Lego and will buy all of the "system" sets that take my fancy. It's hard to pin down a reason for my favourite themes when I have been buying/asking for lego since 1995...

I think Ogel is Inferno's college room mate (University of DOOM, of course) so they hang out a bit in one or the others lair playing cards and shooting the breeze. Of course Agents and Alpha Team keep interuppting (but they argue a bit so Inferno and Ogel always get away). (I love playing lego with my friend we come up with some insane plots)

Speed Boat Rescue, Swamp Raid or Deep Sea Quest? I want to get some more of the 08 Agents (I have Jetpack Persuit, Turbo Car Chase, Mobile Command Centre and Volcano Base) before the summer sets (which I also want to get all of) but I am not sure which to get. Due to space constraints I can't get them all at once and to even get these I am going to have to dismantle some MOCs and sets to fit them in. So which one first?

I would love to build a city, but not a regular town plan, I mean one like those that turn up in cartoons, full of adventure and silly themed buildings. I could have an offshore island for Dr Inferno, a mountain fortress for the Sentai Warriors. Stuff like that. All in one place. Space is a constraint currently. So my planned lair for Inferno can't take shape... I also would love to make a miniland scale Midgar (from FFVII) with all the characters and major locations. Once again space and the price of bley mean its rather hard to even make one building in minifig scale...

Differences in dialect. I speak what would be called the "Queen's English" (I was accused of being posh in school as I didn't like to indulge in local slang terms and I pronounced my words correctly) however American English has some differences, some subtle some not so, lol. So what sounds normal to one ear sounds wrong to another. (Illustrated by my uncle's Canadian friends who took a while to get used to the word "Fringe" instead of "bangs") Of course there is also the infamouse "Legos"... This is an intresting topic, i am glad that it has been necrmanticaly restored.

MOC rhymes with sock and I often have to explain its not the word mock... AFOL is Ay eF Oh eL because any other way would sound silly
-
Grunts for Doctor Inferno! A pack featuring some sort of dasdardly deed to commit or a device for comitting dastardly deeds and several grunts and a leader/commander (cyborged arm, posh hat, something to show rank but not have some character specific feature) That would be very cool and also quite useful.

How long have you been collecting LEGO?
Peppermint_M replied to Kernow's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Oh, I didn't have a dark ages at all. Maybe a gray age when i had limited access to my Lego, but i still bought. -
It looks like the heads go in upside down to usual, the top stud fitting into the body instead of being plugged onto the peg on the torso. Intresting.
