Yes, I have found I regret not buying to buying (ok, sometimes my monthly statement comes in and i see the in/out totals...oops) I didn't buy Agents Mission 8 whenI saw it in Tesco, I ended up buying it on ebay earlier this week so I could have it

Too bad that Lego isn't like Tomy-Takara's Zoids... Then we'd get all the other colours too at some point .

Thanks Everyone When I have a list of items I want that makes briclink worthwhile (I hate making $1 or $2 purchases, seems like a waste of P&P...) I will get the crow fabuland figure ready for blacktron-ising.

Ah yes, my friend pointed this out... Forcefields? Generated by the slopes either side of the front slope. That or the Scala moons have atmosphere... All the grey vehicles were on planet and atmosphere based (by the looks of things on the original boxes) so Apodemus is safe.

Fabuland Builders Guild - Discussion Thread
Peppermint_M replied to Shadows's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I have added a second Fabuland in Space MOC to my original thread, this one uses the mouse figure. -
Here is the second of my Fabluland in Space MOCs. click for more pictures Major Apodemus Muridae In the FSE-02 (Fabuland Space Explorer 2) Bravely explores the uncharted crater-scape of the Scala Moons. This one was based on the small grey vehicles of the Space theme. Once again I found a classic space logo, resized it, printed, trimmed and glued it to the Fabuland Mouse figure.

When I was growing up with Lego ('96 my first kits, never stopped buying) there were lots of play themes. Rock Raiders, Alpha Team, Adventurers, Bionicle came in, all of them had stories, told in comics that came in the magazine, as adverts in kids comics and magazines and small two to three page textless comic strips at the back of the instruction book. Alpha Team and Rock Raiders had games to tell a story with too. Play themes aren't new and until recently I had noticed that the only themes that had story and character names were Bionicle. This new Space lego looks to have a similar idea as Power Miners and Agents, a premise but no limits. A brief introduction to the story a child can make up.

Well, I bought the item in question, thats probably it until March when the conventions I go to happen again (the only other place Zoids are to be found). I am going to make a proper budget starting with my next payday. That'll help my indecsion, plus with the loss of the one highstreet store I buy Lego from I can manage my Lego purchases much better in future. Any other methods apart from budgets that you use?

This is both Lego related and applicable to anything. To buy or not to buy... I have this with Lego and Zoids, the inner nagging feeling that I am spending my money poorly. The main issue here though is I have a finite amount of time to buy Zoids (ebay being my only source) and I can um and ah about Lego right up to the end of year sales. How do you combat your To buy or not to buys?

What makes or breaks a set for you?
Peppermint_M replied to Derek's topic in General LEGO Discussion
1. Do I like it? 2. Is the price ok? 3. What Parts does it come with? -
Well, I have made a grey ship, now all I need is a logo to stick on the mouse, which I can print off tommorow, more Fabuland in Space tommorow!

Well, I still resent having MOCs poorly rated for one Megablocks element when the same user had Brickarms akimbo on many highly rated MOCs. I know that the Sun article (in fact, the whole Murdock family of media...) was poorly researched and a bit of rubbish, however, all the Sun's readers... Well, lets just say I have heard more than one parent tutting in the toy aisle about terrorist lego... I'm not having a go at Brickarms, or defending Megabloks, I just think every facet of a story or situation should be researched.

Only You, by Yazoo... What? I have eclectic tastes!

Cool, I might try a mech buried in a mountain MOC at some point.

It was rather fun working to a different scale than the usual minifig scale I favour. If I ever find a black torso'd fabuland fig I might give Fabuland Blacktron a try .

What book are you reading right now?
Peppermint_M replied to Norrington's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Well, its sort of based on the book, in a Names Only kind of way... Howl and Sophie are just like they are in the book, the rest of the characters are all over the place, some are missing, some have a different gender... It's all very odd. The plot is far from the book, apart from the core Sophie trying to get young again plotline. If yo enjoyed the film I reccomend reading the book and the rest of the books that go with it. -
Anthropomorphism on wikipedia. Essentialy, the humanoid-ising of non-humanoid creatures.

All I can add now is: This thread will really show peoples ages! If you take into account that many parents thought it safe to give their kids lego post 5 and the fact that you can grasp vague recollections to quite an early age then the year the sets you remember having first (or have photgraphic evidence of ownership) were released in is when you were between the ages of lets say 4-7.

Oh, those look cool, but I may be claiming that baddie ship in the name of my blacktron figure.

Found some "Building Bricks" in Poundland today. £1 a bag of brightly coloured plastic bricks. They were neon pink, orange, blue and green. I was about to bu them when I noticed that a substantial amount were warped-ish and that the plastic looked more "soapy". Apart from that, the colours and shapes on offer were pretty cool.

Why thank you. I am planning on doing something in all grey for the mouse figure I have, however I am yet to print the a logo or find enough pictures of grey classic space ships I need to make one. I should have something by Tuesday.

These three were my earliest proper Lego. I cannot remember my first as they were duplo and I was too small. (Plus the one set I remember getting has no pictures on brickset...)

Fabuland Builders Guild - Discussion Thread

Trans-Blue flowers like that make good "spray" for fountains... I used them in lots of non-Fabuland MOCs (I had a bunch of flowers and stalks from 90s creator buckets and pick-a-bricks) Also here is my first ever Fabuland MOC. (until this day the two figures I had sat in my scary Lego parts box, with the odd racer bodies and the strange monstery things that also came with racers... Please don't be angry )
