The Predicted Snowy snow of Doom that would Doom us all didn't happen last night, my siblings were off school but I got to work fine...

I shall examine the sets carefully via both the american shop at home/other american retail websites and of course the reviews stuffed full of pictures you lovely lovely people from other countries will post (hint hint). Then I shall select my favourites and ask with a pretty please that my uncle's canadian friends/girlfriend could please purchase and send them to me here. (With lots of complicated money transactions... I wonder if they have paypal...) Then if there is a redesign for the UK I will get both, and if they do wait until next year to come out I'll have just got them early.

Yup, I know this, I also know that a vast majority of Halo gamers do not appreciate that they can buy and play with Lego beyond the "It's for my kid brother". Too scared to buy toys they want (unless its a super dooper Master Cheif action figure) as they are "grown up" or "mature" (plus as a twenty year old young woman I really do get the age and gender thing in shops... If it isn't tweenagers giggling that I am buying toys for myself then it's shop assistants looking surprised when I say it's for me...) Unfortunately far to many people subscribe to a conservative and confining idea of Grown Up and Lego isn't "Grown Up" . ho hum, still no pictures?
-
I will be buying, if only to part it. I love the tan, I love desert and my defining theme was Adventurers I do hope this is obtainable at a price smiliar to a Lego set with the same nuber of parts. (or cheaper =D)

Please read my second post, not far above your's in which I explained myself further. Are there any pictures of the proposed sets? I would like to see what the weapons look like, although I am opposed to selling toy guns to children at such a young age (innocence of childhood and all that) I do like my figures being well equipped.

Got it in one. While many play Halo, they are too grown up to play with construction toys. The rather small amount who do both, TFOLs, some AFOLs and maybe some major Halo geeks would buy a construction toy based on the games. Children who play with construction toys wouldn't be allowed such things by concerned parents worrying that the toys would make their children want to play violent video games (proven to cause school shootings dontcha' know... ) I can see some parenting groups protesting at this if they find out. (read: If Rupert Murdock wants them too). Thus Mega Brands seem to be taking quite a risk.

What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
Peppermint_M replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Here is a new theme, unrelated to any (ok so slightly in some cases) previoulsy mentioned themes. Airships. Balloons. Vintage planes. The whole Golden Age of Flight shebang. I really, Really, REALLY want to have more retro flying things. An airship pod goes for $40 (last time I checked) on Bricklink... That has to mean something. I would also like a more dieselpunk looking theme, jeeps, 40s and 50s style planes and cars and other such things. A desert based theme would be cool too (what with all the tan) I just really really want some sort of airship. -
Everything is most certainly better with monkeys. Even the wasteland of a world gone wrong. Great litte MOC and the tree is brilliant.

Reversed (as in backtracked/backmasked) Lyrics from an Electric Light Orchestra album -D It is from very very very cheap building toy that was a screaming fake I bought on a whim in the pound shop, the figure came with all its components seperated and the arm never stays on for long, plus the roof of the Riot Van/Evacuation Van won't stay on... It is by far the worst quality I have seen in a long time.
-
To all you Halo fanboys out there *dammit no laughing so hard you cry and slap the floor emoticon... pretend one is inserted here* Got to say that I wonder how many TFOLs will have a major dilema come the release of these sets, plus I doubt we'll see them outside of America. (I wanted the Gundam megabloks, but nothing can be seen of them in English) I don't really understand the huge fuss about Halo and Mega Brands are really taking a huge risk by selling something with such a small (in relative terms) target demographic.

I'm only brandist with the Figures...

My sigfig banishing the non Lego figures from my minifig box.
-
My sigfig. Which at some point will undergo a minor alteration... I used a Japanese Zoids box for the backdrop to add a little extra "mecha essence" to the picture.

Got kicked out of uni early today due to snow. . Not sure about work tommorrow, have to see what the roads are like.

I only keep one set of bricks apart from my lego, some really cheap and nasty bricks I got in a pound shop for amusement (I also buy fake transformers, ripoff power ranger zords and really bad gundam figures, its fun) and they are yucky bricks. I have to ask though... why all the boasting about burning non-lego bricks? I'm sure (however much you deny) some of you received them happily as a child and only now make a big deal about their not being lego, why don't you donate them to a good cause? hand them over to your local childrens hospital or day center. They may not be Lego but they are construction bricks, you could give a child in difficult circumstances a really nice gift, setting them on the path to building fantastic models out of plastic bricks like we here build. So instead of burning them, keep the ones that stick together in a seperate box, throw in a handful of old minifigs you don't use/like and when that box is full donate it to someone or an organisation that will take them somewhere that they can do some good. That's all.

Here is a picture of the game itself, maybe a prelim, maybe not... (links to Daily Telegraph article)
-
Yes, they were smilar to TLG's bricks, tubes and lines. But they looked pinched in at the sides, soapy plastic and poor connection. Now, if you want to see real fake lego (if that makes sense) Reasonably Clever has a weekly Friday Fail, showcasing blatant Lego fakes that pretend that they are lego. Its all rather funny.

Two extra hoses in the Agents Volcano Base set. =D
-
Oh god, not more "clone brand" wha whas... Keep 'em in a seperate box if it makes you feel better... Personaly I don't care much, I only keep the figures seperate.
-
I'm happy to be inspiring people =D. Those are two very good MOCs The looks of shock on the peoples faces as sulphurix climbs out of the manhole. Good "action" shot on the soldier one too.
-
Ah, so glad that I will be able to buy space patrol in the UK... A base would be very cool, and by the looks of all recent themes it seems like a certain tbh. (Volcano HQ for the bad guys in Agents, Sentai Fortress for the Exo Force lot etcetera.)

Yes, I realise this (lets just blame a little to much rum when i posted)

How to Make a Good Backdrop
Peppermint_M replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Do you make frams for you backdrops? To hold them up? I end up having to blutak them to boxes... -
I went to ASDA and bought Power Miners, Stone Chopper and Mine Mech. I am yet to build them, but I am looking forward to it tomorrow.

LEGO is a Dutch company, not American. Thats a nice MOC, I read the manga myself and that looks perfect. Good work with the decals. =D
