  1. Croeso! Hope you enjoy it here.
  2. There should be a provison for recycling broken Lego. When a plate snaps, or a brick breaks. I never throw these away, but it would be good if i could recycle them somehow.
  3. Oooo. I am going to be spending more money on clones when these things launch. But I do agree that bricks shouldn't degrade, they are made to last an eternity, irresponsible and lazy people should know better than throwing out their broken or unwanted bricks. Lego lasts forever and should never be thrown in a hole in a ground.
  4. Front, back and both sides. Makes sitting them down a no-no (unless I can work out a mod that still looks ok) but keeps them far from Lady Ga-Ga-esque.
  5. A quick fix for an ugly front Now I am looking at the photos, I think I should exchange those for a different sort of plate, like I said, I whipped it up in half an hour so I am bound to alter it later. My first plan was a simple 2x6 plate, but I couldn't find any in black or orange (I really should sort my Lego) but I found two 2x3 wedges... So I slapped 'em on and took a photo of it. Modifications coming soon
  6. Those are so cool! Simple but enjoyable, just as Lego should be.
  7. More images on MOCpages I really wanted to build something, so I went to my collection and searched for an idea. The orange bucket struck a synapsys and thus after about 30 minutes this little creation was finished.
  8. These were just experiments, I hope to get some more drawn up tomorrow (in Uni today, so no CAD access) and experiment with new shapes and styles of skirt, plus add some extra details. These were just quick five minute "doodles" at lunch time. As for stability and flexibility, I was hoping to alter the design or use a flexible material, that needs a little more research.
  9. Thanks. I will save a template to my brickshelf , but sizing for any one wishing to print would be trial an error as I print from CAD at a 1:1 scale. I am also going to attempt longer skirts, ruffled skirts and any other sort I believe do-able. Glad you all like them
  10. A Denim Skirt A green dress. A half hearted attempt at tartan. Punk Rock etcetera. After making the skirty thing for my Sorceress (yes, I misspelled, too late to turn back now) I decided to make a skirt, miniskirts even. So I altered the design and made these three varities. I am quite happy how they turned out and if I made them a tad longer and in solid red I can use them to indicate tunics on a Roman Soldier, or make them true tartan for a Scotsman... The list is endless. Once again I used CAD, printed paper, careful cutting and double sided tape.
  11. Or ,you know. You can sort all the toys that aren't Lego into a box (or boxes if there are non-Lego blocks and other random toys) throwing out the real junk (broken stuff) and then give them a quick clean up. You then have a box of nearly good-as-new toy building bricks you can donate to some sort of community outreach project, children's home, hospital or other such cause and give a gift of fun, imagination and creativity to children in difficult circumstances. Warm fuzzies.
  12. Go Speed Racer! I am so glad I bought all of the sets, I can have big races with those cars! An excuse to build more 8 wide cars
  13. Oh, merging has changed the discussion! Yes, I mostly get my parts from sets and thus buy most sets for parts. When my collection does not fulfil my parts need, I buy from Bricklink, however it's mostly special parts for minifigures. I buy Lego mostly weekly, but it can vary if there is nothing I want in stock. I buy from Supermarkets, small local toy stockists, Lego.com and big chain toystores. This week I bought three sets from a supermarket. This means I am unlikely to want any sets for a while, I have all the stuff I want that they stock. That is all.
  14. Someone use the search function. We had this discussion way back before wave one hit shops...
  15. My collection, with the odd BL purchase. Not that my MOCs are that intracate.
  16. There are a lot of brick cleaning tips on the forum. A quick search will turn up all manner of methods. As for figures? Find all figure parts and sort them by type (hand, arm, torso, legs, head etc) and then see whatyou have. The most unique parts will then help you find which figure has what and which figures you have. Search for the part on Bricklink and then find what figures or which set it came in. For example: You could have, say this head. Search Blue (a unique feature) in the minifig head listing and then follow the matching head through to the full figure. The same can be said for torsos and printed legs. It might take a while but will work out in the end. Plus you'll know what is missing.
  17. Can't be right. I have seen the snowboarder hat from series two on one of the World Racers figures...
  18. Nope. I have the attention span of a butterfly in a flowerbed. I jump from theme to theme, rarely settling on one for a long time. Oh, some themes I try my hardest to get all the sets from, or I end up buying plenty from. Other times it is purely "ooo shiny" at the time. I'm afraid my income is pretty much disposable at the moment (while I do save a certain amount of each paycheck) so while I am in this situation, I take advantage of it. If you go to my Brickset, you can see what I get and extrapolate what you will. Most of the time I buy the £10 and under sets from all themes that turn up in supermarkets and if the theme captures my imagination I buy a few more or a lot more. As a MOCer I will buy for parts sometimes and I love minifigs so I have to get some from each theme. I guess right now I am in the lucky position of a decent paycheck and no responsibility, however I predict dropping some currency into Kingdoms and World Races later in the year and, as always, buying any Town set that takes my fancy.
  19. Ahem, This is about the figures, only the figures and not anything else. Speculation on new figures and discussion of the current confirmed figures, this does not cover plastic quality or marketing. Thank you. I am so full of envy for those who have the figures already! Are there any IRL, detailed pics of the other series 1 figures? I want to see the new hair the nurse and the emo kid have
  20. Both Hoth battlepacks (Investment and Goggles!) and the Red Tractor.
  21. So they do not have shoplifters stateside and on the continent? Over here, trading things for kids are kept behind the counter, from cards to plastic toys. Or right up by the cash desk so staff can keep an eye on easily pocketed items that are disireable to those of lesser morals or who don't quite understand the concept yet (i.e children). Lego is valuable, even the impulse sets have security tags these days and we have been told they are to be sold from usual stockists. This means in the UKs case, supermarkets TRU and The Entertainer/independent toy shops. All of these retailers keep their small items close to the cash desk and in the case of supermarkets, behind the tobacco counter. Thus nixing any plan to feel for the contents, you are quite likely to just be handed a random bag(s) from the display box. I wonder if any kind of sportsman will show up? Considering how wildly varied sports tastes are from place to place.
  22. I love the Drom racers, I go to the 4D show in Legoland every year Also I adored Acceleracers (the Hotwheels TV series). I don't know why, but stupid over the top racing has enamoured me since Wacky Races
  23. Or, once we start collectiong them we can make note of which code came with which figure. There are enough of us that if each of us buys one all of us will have the full collection and enough of the same to see if the codes are the same for one figure or not. I hope there is a series three, I love minifigures and these are a great chance to increase my collection variety
  24. This all depends if they are on shelves and not behind the counter. Now, back onto the figures, not how they are sold, thank you I wonder if there would be a Power Ranger style one? I would love one of those.
  25. The light is a bit "Duplo" but it would look good on top of a building. I was impressed that it had batteries though. I have a fire truck the same scale as this one, might review it later.
