-_-;; Granny always was a bit wacky... I assure you I made no plans to murder or rob anyone. Maybe the parchment need red light? From the moon...

Add some rubbish bins, the good old trash can or the larger dumpster? A cat, or some musician types loafing around?

Um, my jargon? This is the accepted definitions. A bootleg is a fake copy of a real thing. From a pirate DVD to a toy that has been made by reverse engineering a product from Mattel or LEGO. It is in the Clone Brand Index (as linked below), it is in the law (as in Customs will sieze bootlegs, but not clones of popular brands).

Interesting Vig. Clever use of the skull. Looks like a Best-Lock figure, clone not rip off. Bit of a difference. Got to say, he is lucky to have survived so long after the end. Will stop talking like Rorchach now.
-
*sigh* Vexorian, you talk of assumptions and suchlike. Why do you assume that these clones copy Lego set designs? They are called clone because they "copy" the stud and tube method of connection. Lego do not have a patent on that, just like breeze blocks and concrete, plastic bricks with studs on top and tubes inside are a means to an end, not intellectual property. The minifigure is patented, this is why clone brand figures are not an exact match. Clone Brands do not copy Lego set designs. They make their own. I do not see any Megablocks Pyrates matching Lego Pirates, Oxford's castles are all Korean styled and Best Lock's War in Space isn't like any Lego set. Enlighten, on the other hand, does copy Lego set designs outright (and Oxford and Best Lock) but they are Bootleggers. Just like the Transmorphable Truck King looks rather like Optimus Prime and the Super Mighty Ninja Team Changer Phone is a whole lot like a Power Rangers morpher. These sets are "exact" copies of older Lego sets. Bootleg, Fake, rip-off; these guys copy the real thing, manufacture it on the cheap and sell it for a fraction of price. These bootleggers are the only companies who do not design their sets.

I don't buy the big ones. I have no space anyway. I prefer to make my own big MOCs than have huge sets.

Know Bootlegger Not a Clone Brand.
-
I challenge you to find a single legitimate clone brand that outright copies Lego designs... Also, who is to say clone brands do not have a devision devoted to designing sets for them to sell. MB, Oxford, Cobi and Best Lock must have at least one person who turns out ideas for sets. Now, a Bootleg is a rip-off of Lego. They copy Lego designs 100%. A clone merely uses the stud and tube method of connection Lego have been unable to patent. (Functional design y'see, like the way a paperclip works).

Greetings, fellow lego-loving Earthlings...

Welcome to the Forum Enjoy yourself here and suchlike. Also I see you like Nickleback. Cool. -
I watched the series as soon as I heard there was to be a film with acting talent I like watching. The series was very funny, but slightly stilted at times. I did enjoy the visual puns and my father, my younger brother and myself laughed a lot as we watched. Mel Brooks is a comedy genius. I then watched the film. It was very funny, more modern and equally enjoyable. Once again, my father, my younger brother and myself had a great time watching it. Even now I can send my brother into fits of laughter with "It was the mushroom cloud for me". Both do exactly what they set out to do: Entertain. I wouldn't say I was fanatical about it, but if they do a boxset of the series, or another film I will certainly watch it.

Boring MOC is boring What a lovely Modular house. It is refreshing to see different architecture in use

Lets see. I would get paid to build/design things using toy construction bricks. I would be paid real, actual money, to do one of my favourite things. I would be able to play with bricks all day. All Day, and be paid. I would be paid to play with bricks that are just enough different to my main hobby that it wouldn't spoil it. Where do I sign up?

I always get a load of parts when the internet isn't connected. It can become quite confusing too see all those extras. Bricklink is still cheaper for the bulk of parts.

You mean her camera doesn't have anti-shake? Maybe someone jiggled her arm... That picture doesn't help much. Who has the key we found? Maybe we could unlock the gate with it.
-
A method I use to obtain lots of random parts is to buy the cheapest sets from all themes. £10 and under sets and bigger if I like the theme. It helps you get some of the new soon-to-be common parts, the theme specific part/colour combinations and the minifigs from that theme. If there are parts you really want, that you see in a MOC or are part of some larger set you don't want to buy, go to bricklink and have a poke around for them

2009 yet another fantastic year for LEGO
Peppermint_M replied to Front's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Star Wars was once again the most successful theme. I gleaned that from google news. News Aggreagators FTW. -
I wonder if they will have some as a promo item with their children's accounts, or perhaps for members... If so, I should like to have some (I am Queen for a reason)

My Proposal for a Large Project
Peppermint_M replied to alienwar9's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You'll have to ask the moderators. One of them will deal with it accordingly. That is a collection of very large projects... They will certainly be hard to do. Good Luck with them -
It is more than likely that it is on the official Power Miners page of Lego.com. Unless I am mistaken. Take a look over at there, there should be a tab marked story or comic in the menu. Lego stopped doing comics in the instruction booklets didn't they?

Along this path, madness lies... Sort by brick type, it is easier to see a yellow 2x2 in a box of 2x2s than one in a box of yellow! Also: Greetings, enjoy your time here.

The bank is advertising itself through use of a building together metaphore, with branded bricks. Recently Abbey bank in the UK has taken its parents name of Santandare, and what with us Brits clinging to tradition and suchlike, they need to ease over this rebranding. I have yet to see a box of these bricks IRL (and most of my family are with the bank) as a promotional item so as far as I can tell, the small bricks are a one off. The Santandare branding on the bricks is to avoid advertising Lego (even though everyone knows that bricks like that are Lego...).

Quality competitor to Lego...
Peppermint_M replied to David Thomsen's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I had so much trouble with the yellow bricks! The only ones I noticed were the half brick hight dimensioned ones, the regular sized ones were so similar. And Front? I have done loads of reviews, there all down in community. I shall have to add a link to the clone index in my signature... As for the comparisons? Sorry, I have been having camera issues and life-stress so I haven't got around to it yet. I promise to get something done soon -
This is why I read Elseworlds stories, nothing to worry about, no past no canon, just Batman in Revolutionary France, or Superman in Civil War America. Then there are the miniseries, fun to read and they have a beginning and end.
