  1. Thanks Everyone I shall use my powers only for evil good
  2. So, a Lego logo made out of bricks, or plates or tiles or 1x1 rounds wouldn't be? That looks really cool, I bet it looks even better in person. I knew there was one in Billund from the 2010 meetup pictures.
  3. And hereby, my first act as moderator is to index this fine review Great job on this, the set looks fantastic, the mouth chests are a little odd but the crab claws and Neptune are really cool. Thanks for the review
  4. Our Lady Peace again. There is just something about their sound that sends me back to my first summer with a radio, about 12 years ago, with all the delights that BBC Radio 1 had to offer. I have never cemented my music tastes, varying from one end of the spectrum to the other. But that 90s sound has a brief nostalgia of long summer afternoons in my room with a radio, a casette loaded in the deck and the mad dash across the bedroom to record what I enjoyed.
  5. Indeed. I shall move it with this post. Great Customs by the way
  6. I think this would fare better in Sci Fi, so I shall move it over there.
  7. Some are unique and just for fun. In-jokes and suchlike abound with these. Needless to say, they are awarded by staff in the same manner as titles. If you earn it, you will be tagged
  8. Well, that is a really nice MOC. The decorative details really suit it nd it plays as a functional game Works like this are always appreciated. Thanks for sharing
  9. Two world racers sets: The Desert Bike Race and the Racing Cars. Also two BaMs. I love the new Lego Shop in Cardiff
  10. Well, I am re-reading a lot of books: Terran Trade Authority Handbook Shipwrecks and Derelicrs of space: Unlike the first book, this one is a mixed bag of short SF stories somewhat like an encyclopedia or a report. The art is taken from several SF book covers and is as always amazing. I love these books, I have only one more to get in the collection, currently trying to find one in good condition. Lirael, book two in the Old Kingdom series. I love this book, it is my favourite of the series and I read it often. I am also reading Justice, the DC comics miniseries I still have to buy book 1... Awesome artwork by Alex Ross (as I can't read books 2 and 3 proplerly, what with the missing vol. 1)just looking at the pictures for now
  11. If you can find the instruction you could make the pretty cool brick built legendaries.
  12. Track down a box from an online retailer. That means you are not putting money in the hands a scalper on eBay or bricklink. You are not taking fogures from the children and there is often a nice discount over buying 60 figures one by one, or in a shop where they will probably charge for each figure.
  13. Real Classy. I would love it if my Mum could have afforded to get all the big sets (So would have she!) These days I treat her to a big box set and we sit and build one instruction book each. I really should buy a Police Station one of these days. I have a police force worth of figures and enough cars for a decent sized station, but never a building. What do you think guys? Get this one or wait until the next one?
  14. I like both. I like planes, Bi-Planes more so. Both of them have their merits and their fails. The Baron's plane (I think I called it the Mith, I was a strange child) is like the canvas skinned planes of the First World War and the roaring 20s while the "Spirit of Luis" (silly name, I shall give it a new one) is more like the later harder skinned planes. In a less/more meta way, one is designed in the more "classic" style of Lego sets in a set size point sadly retired in most lines (apart from Town) the other follows the modern style. Now, if you're talking about a dogfight, well that all depends upon the pilot
  15. There was a Mega Bloks Pokemon Theme more information here and Tomy made some "block" like sets. I have a pic from one I saw on ebay here (when moderated). I guess pokemon just isn't popular enough in their major markets. At least not to the manic extents it once was.
  16. Chaps, quick reminder: This is for series 3. Please follow this elegant and finely crafted link to the Series 4 discussion. Thanks
  17. Ok, so I held back on commenting but... I am not overly fond of the Spirit of Luis flag? Sign? I guess I just don't see it as a flag design really. The build itself is pretty tight, but there needs to be more detail to break up the somewhat bland walls. The colours and the windmill are great, but it still kind of looks like a "background" MOC for a larger layout. The door extension is very well done.
  18. The footballer's trophy does seem to be on a stand however, this stand seems to be a Black Fez. Not new, but a good recolour and I am sure a large number of greeble fans would find it very useful.
  19. Why must it be negative that there doesn't seem to be army building figures for certain members? These were designed for collecting one of each and that was that. It is the perfect way to expand your population without having to get massive and costly sets. Between scalpers, mean AFOLs who buy the whole box and stupid people speculating on minifigs I though it would be a good thin for collectors to not have to worry about army builders choosing to take all of a certain figure. When it comes to these, I am glad I live in a fairly normal area where people buy Lego in normal quantaties and somtimes battlepacks make it to clearance!
  20. It has been said that the maps can come off the magnet. In the discussion about glued magnets, or possibly on The Brothers Brick blog post.
  21. Bottoms, I forgot that little issue. Ok, so massive mega blowout purchases before that happens!
  22. Ok, so I might resume box purchasing with series 4. This is all win. But I could stand one of each... Get my madness under control. But smoking is a bad habit and a pipe would be seen by parents groups as promoting bad habits. The syringe came with a nurse, so is acceptable, but a pipe is a bit beyond the pale...

  24. I had both by choice. When you are 10 and the choice is very little expensive Lego or quite a few cheaper Megablocks sets? The Grand Prix megablocks was my largest set to date, then I got a rather big Skate Park. It was great to have a lot of bricks to play with, even if the skate park would "ping" apart every now and then... Now all my clone brands reside in a box seperate to my Lego, supplying filler material and a useful distraction for children and those with the brain of a monkey (sigh, you can choose friends, but not their sense of humour. I was quite fed up of having to empty my large sharks of figures). I still use all the figure accessories and unique parts.
  25. Eh, I only knew from some random information on the internet. Wikipedia I think... I was trying to find out what happened to the Rock Raiders ones.
