Crayons, Plastic Army Men, Screws/Nails, strange plastic that may be part of a toy but no longer makes sense? One lot I had was home to about half a pack of mini playing cards. Of course, all the expected clone brick is in there and sometimes stray Playmobil. Nothing too yucky, or too alarming either.

I have found Vidiyo series 1 in a few more places now, mainly "Geek Shops". Not comic book shops, or toy shops, but a place with walls of Funko Pop and related brands, Loungefly backpacks etc for people to get "collectables" away from the (negative) connotation of the Toy Shop of Comic Book Shop. It seems they have been offloaded to somewhere these places can get stock, which is great and all, but I want series 2!

Help me get citizen level and win a FREE set from my collection
Peppermint_M replied to Mak's topic in Hello! My name is...
You know this is exactly the wrong way to go about getting the post count you desire. There are a couple of rules you are breaking right off the bat, so I will be locking your thread. First off: We can't allow a Vassal level member hold any sort of contest on the board. Secondly: The forum requires posts that are meaningful, more than a bounce back and forth to make a high post count. Participate in the forum to gain a level of trust from others, that is why there is a 100 post requirement for access to the Bazaar. Users have proven they are not going to scam others or only joined to try and sell. -
Eldritch colour! Fluorescence is like that, useful in places where it is needed, a pain in the butt for other spaces! I think it is neat in person, even if it doesn't render or photo well. I think there are levels that can be played about with in photoshop to fix it, but I am not well versed in it.

Spacecraft, Mecha, Racers of all kinds. I am a ScFi fan and I adore the vibrant work of Chris Foss and other artists like him, the current Neon aesthetic of the New Retro Wave movement and the comic art of Jack Kirby and Jean Giraud. If I could have bar plates, bars, lightsaber blades, clips, grills and all those sort of features they would be excellent for detailing a build. Setting out a pinstripe in plate or a stripe from a brick is possible now, bars and clips would allow for maximum vibrant greebling. Paired with the newer blue shades, coral and other less favoured colours, I could make something pretty fun.

I love the new Neon Yellow, I want a lot more parts in this colour and quickly!

There are a lot of random compatible brands. Kreo is another of those brands out there that could have made the hat. They made a theme of some kind that may have resulted in it.

It is produced using a LEGO mould to create a colour part LEGO do not produce. It is a bootleg part.

Looks like a part from Best Lock or possible Cobi or Mega. The plastic colour makes me think Mega Bloks, but the moulding makes me think Best Lock.

I watched the show! It was on CBBC on Tuesdays when I was staying with an Aunty after school. My sister and I watched it because we ate up anything vaguely SciFi/Fantasy. The Bad Guy was called Gorm and we had a real witch of a Deputy Head Teacher (Vice Principal) who was Ms Gormley so our private joke was she was his wife (ah, childhood). I couldn't afford the sets and really, If I had the money, I spent it on regular system sets. I would still like a few bits for my completism in collecting. (Un)popular opinion: Bring back Modulex! That stuff was ace.

So, I voted: Great helm Shoulder pauldrons (ridged) Tall pointed (Like CMF bear) The bullet helmet for the soldiers. Personally, I like to build knights in an era before plate armour. Chainmail and Surcoats are my favourite. I love the obvious heraldry from the surcoats and I suppose it is also a reaction to the whole "shiny armour" rubbish popularised by pompous Victorian Men and canonised/vaunted by people forever more. The whole army building for castle also gets my goat, it is not exactly historically accurate. Show me your peasants with clubs and spears! However, if LEGO made Sallet helm, I would always use those! I love the shape and the looks.

Aysu was at a loss, this place was dangerous and one teammate was going for friendly while the other was certainly up for burning it all down. "In the belly of the beast, you have to cut your way out." she muttered to herself. "Not a real tea drinker thank you. More of a coffee drinker." Aysu still had manners, even if this whole place was freaking her out.

"Subscribe for the full colour palette!", "For a one off payment you can unlock rotate!", "Join our Build Club to have these exciting new bricks!!", "Watch this short advertisement to access your saved MOC" . Throw a few cease and desist at any of the software using the bricks they can still lay claim to and suddenly digital building can make money. I can see a lot of ways. My jigsaw puzzle app has two modes locked to a VIP membership and thousands of puzzles behind the same paywall. There is enough free content to keep me happy, but they push pay-for options at every turn, only works online unless I pay and adverts arrive halfway through 140 piece puzzles (and on completion) and after you complete any of the smaller count options.

I think it is going to take some immense societal changes to put a ban on plastic toys altogether. Especially something like LEGO that is compatible across the decades, and, in fact, can be dug up from the lawn and cleaned up to play with (true story, we found some bricks buried by my brother as a toddler, a good clean and they are back in use). Between them, Hasbro and Mattel would certainly kick up a fuss about losing their main business in less than 8 years... (Oh gawd, the 2030s loom Sure, Cereal Box prizes, Happy Meal toys and magazine freebies are moving away from cheap plastic toys, but LEGO is a "premium" plastic toy and will likely last onwards. Recall, Science is looking at what polymers can be created from non-fossil fuel derived products or a product created using minimal fossil fuel (like those bamboo plastics: Epoxy and bamboo fibres moulded into shape). So you never know, there could be LEGO bricks manufactured in something just as good as ABS but with less environmental impact.

AMF Fennek (Desert Fox) - Mecha Diorama
Peppermint_M replied to Dutch Thriceman's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Very tasty mecha there, (in the long long ago, the M in my username was Mecha) the head is neatly done. The diorama as a whole gives a good feel for a post-apocalypse world. Thanks for sharing it before you scrapped the build! I know that feeling of "nope, not good enough/worth it" but it is a cool creation. -
That is a cute update to the old set. I have fond memories of playing with my set as a child. Also, that rockwork is a great piece to display from, the two blue shades really give the impression of a deep ocean. Thanks for sharing

Aysu kept a tight smile. This was the loon in chief collecting rare things. She herself was probably on that list.

The shift from creativity to consumer fan base?
Peppermint_M replied to mikaelsol's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I would agree with paper instructions are good and required, but using an app is not the worst thing. Children today are Digital Natives, this is second nature to them. I understand wanting to limit screen time, but treating the tablet/phone with the app like it is the "instruction book" means there is still more focus on the bricks and the building play and not screen playing. Lots of us grew up with games consoles and portables and had the same admonishments from parents but we still play LEGO I'm going to give kids the benefit of the doubt. -
just the one sticker. If the VIP rewards team had any sense, this would be a real poster for ordering.

"Okay, stuff going on." Aysu left the computer, ready for action if Enson uncovered more trouble. Keeping the information for later, it might be useful.

Which is actually pretty sad, as some of the Mecha from Ninjago look fantastic and a Bionicle in that style would look pretty cool.

Been away a while eh? I know you missed the auto-merge threshold but maybe aim for one reply instead of stacking posts, rules is rules for everyone on the forum. -
Hah, yeah, i can see that happening. £2000 to spend on LEGO? I Think I would go wild on the Pick a brick. Maybe the one in Germany Lots of the nice plants and the exciting colours I want in bulk.
