Well, four more Quests and I can roll up someone new, four more levels and Tesni is a chief and ready to return to the mountains for a rest. I am just relying on some future parts to make my next minifig unfortunately. Oh, and I am wondering about making Tesni a wiki page and popping in all the old looks.
-
Making different minifigures is my favourite thing to do! It is great fun working with parts to make figures/characters out of parts that are never "supposed" to go together, making matching looks with parts created for wildly different themes or years (decades!) apart.
-
Get Tesni to a proper wrapped up character arc and then create a new character to play. Whether I feel the need to reach level 40 and barbarian chieftan or 50 for Paragon is something to be seen, though it would make more sense character wise to become a chieftan and return to the Hightribe. I am loathe to remove such weapons from play though! (maybe they could be held in abeyance until a next character gets to a sensible level eh? ).
-
"Well, uh, I'll let you get back to that then..." Tesni waved over a server and picked a large bottle of gutrot to deposit by Benji, he'd surely appreciate it at some point.
-
And why ist this? Gonna just hit things with swords and that! I still play with the complexity of a hammer after all!
-
"Schnappi! A face I recognise. Have I missed much since the last time I came to the hall?" Tesni grinned, the reptillian beast warrior had possibly been questing more than Jess. (A note. In a quest together Tesni called Beniji "Schnappi" and "Handbag" more than once.)

Bored and her tankard empty, Tesni signed up for The Fields of Glory, maybe this campaign would be more successful and a good way to get her hand back in.

DC Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussions
Peppermint_M replied to Ezekiel2517's topic in LEGO Licensed
Okay, if things carry on like this we Moderators are going to have to start investigating members for their actual age and suitability to continue using Eurobricks. So, dial it back! -
"Aye, that is true." Tesni raised a fresh flaggon. "To new adventures and friends missed."
-
"It has been a long time. How has life been here at the hall? I did not intend to leave but - things - called for some time to think." There was a darkness to the tone but not the reverberations of chaos and fury that had once echoed through words during battle.
-
Oh yah, and I have gone for a new look for Tesni too! I liked the stone army armour torso/leg combo and the red looks great with the armour and new shield.
-
Uh, any shared Quests?
-
A door opens in the hall, one of the lesser regarded entryways. A figure long missing from the establishment enters. Tesni looks around in search of familiar faces, plenty of new heroes seem to be about the place, not the crowd she knew some time before. As she walks deeper into the hall there is a curious hint to her step, as if the weight of the world has been recently lifted and a new strength has welled up unexpectedly. Catching a pint from a passing server Tesni settles into an empty seat to await conversation with old friends or new heroes.

Ideas for New Action Themes
Peppermint_M replied to Perry the Platypus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Action Themes. Action and Adventure Themes. These are LEGO Developed In-House Story Driven LEGO Themes. Not existing properties owned by others. Everything, from character names and plot setting to final goals are all created by the brains at TLG, sometimes there are cartoons and games, other times there is just the toys but all of them are original ideas developed by LEGO. The first post was referring to a thread in the Licesnsed Themes forum so I can see where the confusion was from. -
Nah, I was thinking existential crisis + lots of ale and a bit of finding herself again. Maybe a lot of fallout from the Wren stuff and the Cysgodion/Dryw fight for supremacy. Then once I hit the mark, create someone else to have a play with for a while!
-
Hah, I nipped in to see if anyone had any care for Tesni to return and see a discussion ongoing about us missing ones! I'm afraid I got into a spot of bother and writing Tesni got difficult, I play to develop a character more than powerhouse my way forwards. Then a little facet of development I had planned for her was lost to missing out on fighting Wren one last time and I was adrift without a plot. Life got in the way and then loads of stuff has happened in Heroica since... I'm planning on making a return soon (I have some figure changes to make and photo) once I have formulated some in-story reason for Tesni to have dropped off the face of the planet. Have I missed a lot?

Ahem: Cartoon discussion goes in Culture and Multimedia. Set discussion goes in here!

Tim Curry dear, not Elton John. (MMMmmm Toxic Love...) So anyway, lets talk about the theme not a rather vintage film okay? I think the boat is certainly on my list, but anything with the plantlife will be sorely tempting.

Yeah, I was frustrated by the article, it ignores all the incidental female characters from the Lady Thief (with her dirtbike!) to the Arctic Explorer with everything inbetween from just this year, right on to the named/story characters and characters from the licensed sets too. Not to mention the CMFs and those figures from the past. Friends was made to attract a market that used to ignore LEGO and has been quite successful in that regard. It all boils down to the different ways children of both genders play. As ever in a situation like this I can cite my sister and I growing up. My younger sister is just over a year younger than me, our next sibling is our brother who is four years younger than I. Mum bought Duplo from my birth on (She loves the stuff and is quite miffed there are no more kids so she can buy the Princess and Superhero Duplo). When I was old enough that she didn't worry about toy-eating I had my first system LEGO, sets I chose (An airplane/boat and two Aquazone impulses). My sister wanted a Polly Pocket. We had been raised in the same way with the same TV, books and treatment from our parents. I wanted LEGO, she wanted Barbie. It took until Belville for her to actually choose any LEGO for herself. This was reflected in our play together too. My minifig had the motorcycle and an Aquashark torso, her minifigure was a "custom" she had drawn princess decorations on and painted with glitter nail varnish and liked to shop or eat at restaurants. So, while I built race-tracks and footbal pitches she made highstreet shopping and houses. I had a Ken doll in Action Man gear, she had Barbie. Today I am an AFOL and she collects Pullip and Ever After/Monster High dolls. About the only thing you can say is similar is that we are both pretty nerdy/geeky. I can safely say, if we were growing up now, she would love all the minidoll themes, Mum still does! Half my minidoll purchases are spurred by colourscheme, the other because Mum would like to build the set. Friends was created for girls like my sister, (by whatever reason) they like to play house and "real-life" and prefer a colour palette of azures, lavenders and pinks. Whatever societal pressures people want to claim are around can be an issue for some girls but this pair of sisters didn't notice it and we're still who we are by our choice. She is still at the base of a tree making daisy chains, I'm still climbing up it and getting warned not to get stuck! Sorry for the ranty long post, but hey, the title warns you I'm a grumpy moo!

Which forum does my MOC/topic belong in?
Peppermint_M replied to Stormbringer's topic in Forum Information and Help
Posting a WIP thread in Pirates means you can get all kinds of tips and feedback, it is quite a tradition for MOC builders to post WIP of large builds so don't worry about it. -
No one is allowed to upload images to Eurobricks, as we are a forum not an image host. There are a lot of popular choices for online photo hosts so choose one you like and you can upload images there and link them to posts here on Eurobricks.

It looks/sounds more like Vision of Escaflowne or Inuyasha. What with ordinary girls lands in magical world plotline.

Green 32x32 Baseplates Sold Out S@H
Peppermint_M replied to KringlesBricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
They'll come back under the Classic banner, but thanks for the tip on blue baseplates! I was so pleased by the tan one I didn't think we'd lose the blue. -
Oh, nice one. Of course, add in the odd little supermarket deal and price jockying I might be in luck!
