  1. *pauses for a moment to consider skimpy female armour.... With equal focus on all dat armoured man too* Ahem, yes right. That is what I like about Heroica, the roleplaying. Hence my hiautus during an intense period of writers block (My poor fanfictions were all neglected even!) I love the diversity and the trope challengers and even the trope followers! Though I also respect the consideration for the setting with the real world parallels, it makes for better writing and consistency.
  2. It is in fact stated in the Site Guidelines that Eurobricks is not a chatroom or message board. There is a certain etiquette expected here, otherwise staff scrutiny becomes more focused on your posting behavior.
  3. Tesni scrawled her name under Quest #124, the Hinckwells had hired her on before and it was a chance to learn how the island had changed since she was last here.
  4. Tesni grinned and the little dragon and watched it fly away after her 'person' then turned to the necromancer "I am glad those who I once fought alongside have found their path leading them to something they can feel well with, maybe even find joy. Worthiness though, I would not say I though being a hero was a greater calling than serving a temple above a lost tribe-home. I needed the change of place and pace. I spent years living with the loss of my people and then the priestess died. She was the last of them, I thought." The maudalin changed to a small smile. "Word has some of the other sons and daughters who heard a calling elsewhere are returning to the mountains. My tribe becomes once more." However, Tesni paused thoughtfully. "I do not think heroing like this is more worthy on a world sense, just personally. I have been further than I ever expected and learned more than I would have atop a mountain." She shifted in her seat. "I have a clearer view of my path now, one that had been clouded and murky is laid out for quite a while now. I can't say I chose it though. After all, does the walker choose the path or the path the walker?"
  5. "How have those two fared? I heard little of what they are doing now though I saw Jess just as I returned, she too had been away." Tesni took a plate of food from a passing serving trolley and called out for more ale. "I have plans to work a little harder and once word comes from home, return to help the old ways survive. I was trained to replace the priestess after all but I thought the heroing call to be more worthy..." Tesni chuckled. "Our traditions are a whole lot less god-bothering than they are down here that is for sure. I think to have a former Heroica hero calling the shots in the Temple of the Mountain's Strength would sell the myth a bit more."
  6. Yet here I am searching the local retailers for any sign of new sets! I would love to see the boxes in person to make a choice for budgeting.
  7. There was a discussion thread in Action Themes when it was thought to be a new LEGO original franchise/theme that was like Monster Fighters and would be replacing Chima as a theme with tv episodes to go alongside the sets. Now it has confirmed as a Scooby Doo theme the thread has been merged here (earlier posts, if you look, consider this early theory) Minecraft started off as a LEGO Cuusoo (now LEGO Ideas) release. As all earlier sets from Cuusoo had a home in Special, so did Minecraft. LotR and Hobbit were 'replacement' themes to LEGO in-house Castle/Fantasy Castle themes, there were little to none on shelves or upcoming so as not to compete for the market share LotR would entice. So there we go.
  8. "After the Northern Kingdoms I needed a rest. I have been hacking my way through enemies and facing ever more political situations since I first trod through that door. I met an enemy so like who I could become and failed to send her on her path... Things had been so much simpler when I was splitting wolves and fighting rats. So I took to the mountains to refresh myself and live the life I had before for a while. I sent word out to the old tribe-hills too, I am looking for some news of my people."
  9. "Ha. I have certainly missed all this in the hall!" Tesni sat back to enjoy the arguments, it had been altogether too quiet out in the wilds.
  10. While that is a great piece, it will be more at home in Special Themes. I'll move it there now.
  11. On brickshelf this has to be done before you upload the picture, if you do not have picture editing software, even MS Paint, there are plenty of free online image editing sites. These will let you resize the image and save it back to your device and re-upload to brickshelf. Or upload to Flickr and use their auto-size options!
  12. Zoom in by using "all sizes" it says they are taped onto a sheet of grey paper, so I'd say double-sided tape under every single 1x1 tile in the array.
  13. "I can certainly speak from experience of the darkness welling up, though not so much pure chaos. It took some time to balance berserker rage fed dark and the light of a cause and hope. The internal nature of your plaything is interesting, makes for less to carry about I am sure." Tesni chuckled at the antics of the little dragon. "That not so much! We had them in the mountains and it was wise not to bother them, though I did shout at one or two for stealing the sheep! I am pleased I do not seem deserving of her wrath." "Well met Alexis. At the moment I am looking for my next quest after my break from heroics. The Northern Kingdoms were tough and the constant battles since I arrived here had worn me down. How has life been here since I was gone? Arthur has been filling me in on the Jei Pi activity but I hear there has been more going on in the city."
  14. It looks like I am pretty lucky! To start: The main reason I buy ant City sets that aren't speedboats or helicopters and the larger Friends sets is so Mum and I can build them. She wants modulars and creator houses too! Dad is more impressed with the creative aspects but it took a bit more for me to convince him it was a hobby. My sister and brother-in-law love LEGO. They like gaming, so every LEGO game has a 100% completion. She likes minifigs, he gets the odd sets. Once or twice he has whatsapped pictures of parts he likes as he builds his sets! Two of my brothers like LEGO, enough that the keyrings are an acceptable gift. They loved the movie. My other sister likes minifigs but she never builds. Recently she did ask me to build something/ direct some features of the MOC. Then there's my youngest brothers. One adores LEGO. He likes Xbox a little more now but he was telling me about some cars he wants to MOC. The youngest likes to have the odd thing. But he has gone full Nintendo, so it is Pokemon, Mario and Zelda related otherwise! Yep, big family!
  15. "New kin for Dryw? I did not know there were playthings left." Tesni took the sword from the array behind her. "Dryw has become much more vocal, in a way. Cysgodion is not the chief anymore, the light co-rules with the dark." The diamond in the pommel gleamed even as the dark greatsword behind seemed to almost glower, if swords could. "I would like to wield my blades in battle again."
  16. You know, re-reading the Falling Stars after the outcome of the Hands of Blue... It is a very good job that Tesni believes in greys (or violets ) or she could have faced a real guilt issue there! I wish I had been up for playing when that quest was on the boards, though I will sign Tesni up for the next Jei Pi quest! Other regrets: Not helping Wren off to her final fate! You're right though, reading through old quests says a lot about your character and past writing. Plus I forgot that Tesni slew a dragon with poor ignored Cryfder.
  17. "Well, I have never sought to use this. My 'barbarian' constitution was always a boon and between you and me I am happier to feed the blades than the kit on my back. I think a grating stone and a little gold would be a good trade." Tesni pulled out the tin. "The Hand of Blue, I think I may have heard the phrase before and if what you say it seems I took a misstep in the act that earned this blade." Tesni patted the ornate sword. "The Protector of Justice he called himself and he had some plan to take down the council. Though as these things go it was possible he was an opposite to the goals of the Lady so my deeds even out in the end. It is all grey isn't it? Or violet you could say... Maybe it will do the man and his daughter honour in their afterlife or put to rest any roving spirit now that their cause is seen through."
  18. "One moment, it seems I have business to conduct." Tesni took out the scroll. "60 sounds fair, I have never been one for spells beyond those that make my weapons better." (If the exchange was still wanted) Tesni handed it over. She turned back to Arthur, he had certainly changed since their last encounter. "Fighting over a bridge and which of those gods was best and such. Very much a headache, no one will see that there is no black and white it seems." She put the blade that had been leaning beside her closer to the leather strap that held it. "So you worked for Madam Shanxian? It pains me to have missed a chance to help her once more, she awarded me this blade for tasks already done but I would hav gladly wielded it in her service. What was the land like? I only ever visited a single tower!"
  19. You may not get it quick but you get it cheaper! I'd prefer that trade-off!
  20. Have you got any other angles for it? Right now all I see is an upside down hat that could be from anywhere. While the stud connection already rules out a few clone brands, there are plenty of other clones and customisers who could have produced it.
  21. That is what a post is. A topic/thread is something you start yourself but anything you put in other places is a post. However none of the posts made in this section of the forum go into your post count.
  22. Hah, I still have big clear tubs full, sorting just never really happened. While it has a few downsides it really makes me work creatively with what I can find!
  23. "Darn, looks like I'm not going out just yet." Tesni shrugged. She took out a set of clothes to polish her blades, it had been a while since they had been looked after.
  24. Cardiff can't or my sister would have sent a teasing photo through to me when she visited on Friday. (She's a real meanie). It means my bank balance is safe for a while at least!
