Lego Ninjago 2016
Peppermint_M replied to LegendsOfNinjago's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I would ask you to stop hyping it up though. Actual discussion is fine, but whipping people into a bit of a frenzy is not on. -
Pate-keetongu has built a fine representation of Horace Worblehat The Librarian from the Discworld series. Come and take a look and leave a comment in Special Themes. Ook!

Yarr. Well, I am a .Someone snuck this in, as no one who can change my title has visited my profile in the right timeframe.

"Good work Dryw, we should work together more often!" The diamond on the blade gleamed. -
How do you dust between the studs on LEGO?

A make-up brush set is really handy to use. There are a number of sizes you can use and a set is cheaper and better quality than a cheap paintbrush. -

"Dryw! I need your power. Have at the dark dwarf guard mob!" (Sorry, been pretty sick of late... I feel crummy for letting you down.) -
[MOC] Industrial Ruins

Now this looks like a successor to the Spy themes, Really cool build, atmospheric and well built -
What makes LEGO excellent is that with a little effort you can make it into what you want. I dislike (and have always been annoyed by) the lack of female characters. Leaps and bounds have been made and most themes have at least one female character and the CMFs have provided a great diversity in faces and hairstyles. With a little mix'n'match I have a whole crew of ladies for a spaceship, or a number of adventurers, racecar drivers, pilots.... Little difficulty involved. An AFOL can use the parts sets provide and a few extras from the wide rage of sources we have, to create a MOC or model that fits what we desire. Really, it gets to a certain point and one must ask if LEGO truly is the "medium" for you, if it is not providing the experience you want maybe something for the adult hobbiest is better suited.

Entirely off topic and precisely the wrong place to ask. Please don't, especially having acknowledged that it is indeed off topic.

Lego Ultra Agents 2015

You're lucky you have the option! I'm hoping that there is a chance to pick it up any of this wave in Billund when I visit next year. Which is a shame, this wave has some really solid designs. -
I would like to see pictures before I make any real plans. I have the utmost confidence that they will be great and well designed sets, but some haven't really appealed to me.

Who else here is into all sorts of themes?
Peppermint_M replied to Blondie-Wan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Duplo is great, really useful for filler and also for big parts as props or decoration. -
Quite the evocative landscape there, some great techniques and use of colour. Depending how you populate it, this could have many uses. I can see a pitched battle between ghosts and ninja...
-
Songwm, Cao and Alson have built another fantastic Ninjago diorama for the newest wave. Are you ready to battle the ghosts? Come to Action and Adventure themes to take a look.

Mmm, Deco. I love this build, great pump designs too.

"Okay, take this quietly." Tesni hissed. "We need to try and hear what they're saying before we go charging in." She looked at the indistinct figures. "Anyone got anything on them that can spy out their numbers, their skill even?" -
Not many guests, but the family friends who know about my hobby are always asking after it. They're cool with it, some of those who've known me since I was little are pretty tickled that I still play with my LEGO. Everyone is impressed that I travel around through it too (the Event has become my holiday plan each year). The most amusing comment came from my friend. She has a six year old nephew who also knows I love LEGO. Apparently he recently decided that he would marry me because "She likes superheroes and LEGO.", I suppose that's what you want in a wife when you are six Even my boss knows I like LEGO and will tell me when he has visited the LEGO Store in Cardiff, (Apparently, forum moderating is one of those things that can look good on the old CV, what with the transferable skills thing. I put it on there and I was still hired, so cool beans!). Oh, and I wore my LEGOLAND cap one really sunny day (easier to drive in a hat than sunglasses) and the big boss passed positive comment. Then again, it is a British thing to enjoy eccentricity!

Who else here is into all sorts of themes?
Peppermint_M replied to Blondie-Wan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yo. (Sorry, I wanted to say it). I like all kinds of LEGO. I buy anything and everything so I can MOC with a wide range of parts and colours and I MOC in all themes. It just so happens that my first ever favourite (Aquanauts) my lifetime favourite (Adventurers) and the themes I find the most enjoyable are Action & Adventure themes here on EB. I have built everything, from Star Wars to Constraction. I think the only theme I have never truly built is Train and that is simply because it is a little expensive and space hungry. I love to build and don't exactly collect, so my purchases more likely hinge on current project needs, cool minifigures and the most exciting set designs/new parts/colours the set or theme provides. Being a little more solvent (yay employment!) I am guilty of more clearance/discount picking in the supermarkets right now but my shopping list has a few City, Ninjago and Star Wars sets on it. (I am a sucker for dark red, and black and orange is a favourite colour combo of mine). Oh, and probably a few square meters of baseplate too. I've never had any desire to collect a theme, not since Speed Racer anyway (one childhood love combined with another!), it is all to supply my many and varied ideas to MOC. Plus, with my wide ranging interests that cover all kinds of genres, I MOC what I feel like. One month I can be on a bit of a Spaceship track and then I am jumping into Pirates, I have a City MOC on the plan and an Adventure build half done... I don't have ADD though! -

Beautiful build, excellent colours and the techniques are interesting and clever. I hope this gets the reaction it deserves when you display. If anything you will have a swarm of very impressed small girls! -
Fabuland Builders Guild - Discussion Thread
Peppermint_M replied to Shadows's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Get the animals you like best? I was handed over a nice little bag of Fabuland doors and windows a while back and I have collected some figures too. One of my many sketched plans is a little Fabuland village. However all my LEGO is in-accessible at the moment... It is such a cute scale and aesthetic to build in that I always have a go at building something. -

Tesni handed a shard over to Ellaria and gave a glare to Nur. Tomfoolery was going to be risky anywhere on a quest. -
