  1. I guess it depends on the actual content of the book. As the examples show, there are good guys and bad guys on the books according to the theme of the information within.
  2. "Got yer back. No worries." Tesni hauled over to attack with Dumora, her axe in hand.
  3. Cute little scene, great posing and I love the reptillian water dweller, he looks hopeful for a snack!
  4. Sorry for the access issues. I hope everyone enjoys the new section
  5. Indeed. When it was still speculated to be Castle/Historic instead of Action/Castle then things would be okay. So as moderator I would prefer we talk now about the theme as it is and not how people wished it should be.
  6. You know, I might just get behind that suggestion. But only if I get to change A&A's discription be: Super fun awesome colourful cool stuff that the boring people don't like. Anywhat, still loving those books. Just excellent to have. Has there been any more info on the sheild tiles. do they have the recess or studs?
  7. Yeah, it looks like that would work out, just as MOC threads arrive and then work their way down a page as time passes. I'll get to moving those threads now.
  8. Yes, it seems spam comes in waves. So as one is dealt with more appear... Kind of like Hydra.
  9. Admin are looking into it. We seem to be having some teething problems, so please bear with us.
  10. I think really, a few extra pages with alternate model photos and promotion of the webpage with more alternate models would suffice. More booklets are more paper things to lose.
  11. You know, I was never happy with the generic smiley with a hair piece. I wanted a face that was printed like a female character. Pippin Reed, Alexis Sinster, Cam Attaway, Radia, Jet... I loved those characters. I really wanted more, but they were stuck in the big sets. Now? Now I can get cool faces from CMFs and at least a slightly more female face from the city sections (Even if they're not looking so bad-blocks as Jet and Cam did). Here is something to consider: LEGO still appeals to girls who are similar to us AFFOLs who liked LEGO as children, catering to them even more so now that there are many new kinds of hairstyles and faces to use in their games. LEGO now also appeals to girls, the sort who never did want LEGO toys in the past for the exact reasons that Friends and Elves appeals to them now. It even acts as a gateway to the other LEGO, like City and basic bricks to expand with. The ones who do not realise/want to combine the sets or change up the figures? You get young boys like that, you get AFOLs who prefer to collect sets/mininfigs than MOCing. You get parents who prefer things to be kept like they came instead of mixing. (My Dad was like that. I ignored him). I honestly think LEGO is doing very well for boys and girls these days.
  12. Cheers, I'll get to moving some of those, but I was wondering if a Game Speculation master thread would be better. Otherwise, the forum would be clogged up with "(Insert LEGO Theme Here) Game?" topics. Unless you the members think that is the experience you want?
  13. Episode citation has to be related to the sets at least at a tangent. Please? Quote the minifigure discussion that needs show talk, or something... There is a lovely whole new section for LEGO Media now, I might just start moving all posts that are more about the show than the sets into the series discussion thread
  14. Funny messages make us (or me at least) smile about what is an annoying SPAM flood to go and take care of. So don't worry! I like having a laugh as I zap yet another spammer.
  15. I think that a lot of the LEGO Brickmaster Books try and fix this issue. They cover some of the flashier themes, attracting the children with an exclusive figure or set but then having many instructions that not only include the Set in the book, but alternates to try and also pictures of MOCs that use other sets from the theme. One thing LEGO must contend with is rather boxed-minded parents. I have come across many a horror of an actual grown adult telling a child they should get the action figure or toy version of something (From police car up to an X-wing) because "That LEGO one just comes apart" or: "If you want to make a model, get some Airifx, LEGO doesn't stay together." . Alright, a lot of parents understand LEGO, but too many even ask what would be the best glue to keep the model in one piece!
  16. Hello EB members! This is a whole new forum and a whole new kind of section to boot. As such, here is a space for exactly what the title suggests. Any questions of concerns you have regarding this forum are welcome. Though at first we would like most suggestions to be a notification to staff of a thread that belongs here that has been missed. After all, we have just launched it.
  17. Yes! The one and only Scooby Set I want for myself.
  18. "Alrighty. Mechanicals don't like thunder do they? Mellt, your power will be needed good friend." Tesni moved along to fight also. (Keep it up guys, sorry I am a bad leader!)
  19. Hmmm This thread often crops up in one form or another. I like to make a mention of my experience, simply because I wants too! I am the eldest, my sister is a little over a year younger than me. Mum always bought Duplo, she had parents who proclaimed "LEGO is for Boys" (Even though thier close friends bought one of the very first basic brick boxes for their daughters) and never had any, even as it was lavished on her younger brother (Dude,he had Yellow Castle and then sold it for a bike, a mountain bike! ). As such, she wanted to play too! My sister and I played Duplo, but as we got older she was drawn more to dolls and Polly Pocket (The original tiny ones) while I was all about that Aquazone and any plane I could get my hands on. Same influnences, same media consumption, same parental provisions. She just asked for a Barbie while I wanted LEGO. As we grew up, out games with LEGO and Barbie reflected us. My Sindy (In Action Man outfits) raced around in the sports car and the most trainer-like barbie shoes, her Barbie and Ken played house while we played dolls. When we played LEGO, characters we had made up went on adventures and had air shows and races, then parked up and went to the cafe to eat and retired to bed in the little homes we built. We mixed our games, if it was my turn to choose then we built LEGO things to play with. If it was her turn we played Barbie. Now, she did like LEGO, she does like LEGO. Elves and Friends and Princesses? She loves them! We are in our mid twenties now, I am an AFOL (Well duh) and she is a doll collector (Monster and Ever After high to be precise). But all this new Elves LEGO is right up her street, she loves it. Her husband bought her a set or two for their anniversary. It caters to her and girls like her, created to appeal to them. You also have the girls in the unfortunate situation of girls who's parents think LEGO is for boys. Now, with these sets that are for girls, they can otherwise have access to LEGO that they would not have had. Which, as we all know: A few sets are a gateway to brick boxes and assorted wheels, extra minifigures, PaB... I love the inclusion of more directly female figures (Smile-face and lady hairstyles didn't cut it in my book) but I also think the minidolls and those themes open LEGO up to a whole other sort of child.
  20. I mean, it is probably better suited to the Community section. If it could encompass cross theme characters and isn't the sort of game that fits into the Gaming forum, then Communit is best.
  21. That all looks pretty cool there. Thanks for sharing (Even if I AM ENVY) . The big builds are always so fun to see.
  22. "Fireworks? I was planning on hitting you with a whacking great sword." Tesni yelled and hit again. Tesni Nur Dumora Atramor Ellaria
  23. As long as new parts and colours are produced, I will be picking up new sets. Then again, I am first a MOCist and second a Minifig fan (just the concept as a whole, I prefer to make my own characters). There are always new figure prints, new accessories, new colours... Now, space, space is an issue...
  24. Guys. Show goes in the show thread. LEGO goes in this thread. Thanks
  25. Oh, hey. This is in Action and Adventure now. Hi! I love the new books that are included. But then again I love books. I'm liking the colour scheme and a lot of the new elements. Hopefully this will last, filling the spot vacated by Chima and Ultra Agents.
