  1. Those bikes look amazing. Really crisp design, I think there is a set I will be picking up. EDIT- Updated the first post with pictures that we have.
  2. The extra lime green looks just right It was already and excellent MOC, but now it looks more power miners-ey.
  3. Now you just need to await the Nexo Knights and some books to plant on-scene. It is always good to see people building new adventures. I too eagerly await a new adventure theme like JT or PQ.
  4. Of the more recent waves, the Lava Falls set is still in a lot of shops. It has a neat function and won't break the bank. It looks to be out on the Shop@Home site though, so this is probably one to look out for in the supermarket or toy shop.
  5. 7-14 is usually a guide for who it will appeal to, thematically and in terms of the complexity of the build. There are mechanisms more complicated than a flick-fire, moderate fantasy violence that would probably be kept out of reach of the under 7's and the sort of media interaction that would appeal to older children, but frustrate those younger children. Of course, it is only a guide and one anyone, Parent or child or AFOL can ignore. It also works as insurance, if a parent is calling to complain that their four year old is having trouble with the set then the rep can easily point to the age guide. Just the same as if someone complains about the fighting being too scary for a smaller child can be reminded that it was recommended for over 7's.
  6. It is a great build though, looks just like a set.
  7. Lovely MOC, I do like to see some of the little MOC-ed themes be catered too. I agree about the orange though... Now, if the tank tread/conveyor belt was bright orange that would be perfect!
  8. There is already a set discussion thread and a show discussion thread. Could you use those to post your opinions of the theme and associate media properties? There is having fun and there is creating clutter. This looks like something that is making clutter. I'm all for having fun, there's a lot of space for it. But I'm not a fan of clutter or of borderline spam. I'll lock this thread now as it is essentially a duplicate of two other threads. We can evaluate the theme once it is out in the wild.
  9. While my LEGO Book collection may not be quite so vast (My library is vast mark you) I have a number of books. Standing Small The LEGO Book The LEGO Book (Revised and expanded) Minifgures Year by Year The Batman Character Encyclopaedia The CMF Character Encyclopaedia LEGO The Classic Play Themes Great Lego Sets. Brick City Brick Wonders Yep, only ten. I did have one of the idea books, but I thought that it would have a better home with some little LEGO fans I know. Of course, if I had more room for all my books, then I would have more LEGO books. As is, they have to share space with a healthy art-book collection, graphic novels, manga, a decent amount of history books, a geology reference section, a collection of varied fiction paperbacks and hardbacks and a miscellany of mythological retellings and guides... (I have already collapsed one bookshelf...). There are probably more I will find as time passes, I am always coming across new ones to get and the Architecture on keeps catching my eye.
  10. OF course I am coming And happy to be chalet sharing with the regulars!
  11. Okay, so this is an utterly pointless thread right now. I'm going to lock it as it seems people can't leave it alone.
  12. A palm tree on a desert island in a warm place. Just where I want to be in December as the rain lashes outside at home!
  13. Strange, glad it has sorted out
  14. LEGO was my first love, but Zoids have been a second favourite for a long time. Some of the more recent action themes are just a perfect fit for building my own Zoids from LEGO. Nexo is indeed the perfect opportunity to build within.
  15. How about: Or else I am certainly going to have a good go at making the Nexo Knights the appropriate Zoids
  16. Those juniors sets look like a nice way to grab a few cool parts and figures. I love to collect motorcycles too!
  17. That is odd, I seem to not have a problem with Chrome. I will see if the more tech inclined staff know the reason.
  18. Yes, but that specific set had Jar Jar and two droids. It isn't the wildest guess out there. I suppose Athos might enlighten us, but hopefully I answered the question concerning the tan Jar-Jar Binks.
  19. The tan Jar Jar head is from the original release of Episode I Sets in 1999. I would hazard a guess that Athos has 7121 Naboo Swamp, as it also came with two battle droids (and I have one too!)
  20. Thanks to CM4Sci, the first post is now updated with set photos.
  21. I think what needs to be recalled with the issues in the late 90s early 00s is LEGO was moving too far away from the brick. Clothes, accessories, videogames, tv series, theme parks and anything else with LEGO on it was as in-house as possible. That caused a lot of overheads which sales were not clawing back. These days, TLG is focused on the building toy products and everything else is doled out among partner companies, licensed to use the LEGO logo, minifigures and stud image. Yes, there are a lot of different themes, but these are offering a wide choice within the building toy market. This means that virtually all building toy purchases would be from LEGO. If you want city cars or Star Wars space ships to build, LEGO supplies. Princesses or city life building? LEGO Supplies. Ninjas or Batman? LEGO supplies. While certain themes (evergreen or not) may suffer from the variety (Like Chima or more classical castle) LEGO will simply retire/replace the line and carry on. Unlike action figures or fashion dolls, where competing brands have similar products and the choice means profit for one and not the other. Franchises/Themes that Hasbro and Mattel produce are directly competing with each other where LEGO doesn't have to. Kre-O and Mega hardly dominate the aisles like LEGO (here in the UK anyway). These brands are just as likely to be crammed in with each other and the generic cheap brandless brick that the store carries. Anyway: Variety is healthy and expansion is good for us fans!
  22. Clever! A fun little MOC there, it is good to see you building again That has also given me an idea for my desert adventure MOC/layout I have in the planning...
  23. Meanwhile, I love to trim things with a bit of pink, it really pops when you use lavender and pink where otherwise dominates a sea of Bley and tans.
  24. If you had the time, that would be excellent
