LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
All set discussion for 2017 Ninjago, Movie or not, will be here. Plot points and show/movie discussion belong in their respective threads. This includes the "character" of a character. Appearance of a character will affect the toys, so that can be discussed here. -
LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion

You seem to misunderstand me: Do you want to have the Movie SET Discussion in the 2017 set discussion thread? Instead of a split between Nijago 2017 and Ninjago Movie Sets, all the set discussion happens here for any and all Ninjago related LEGO sets in 2017. -
LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion

So, with no Summer wave, do you the members want split movie discussion, or shall I merge movie set discussion and this thread? -
It was always risky. Minifigure is a LEGO name, I'm sure they'll return with a new name. Plus, I have to add to Phred: This thread continues to exist as most people do play fair and they don't post/remove the images if they realise a fig is an absolute rip-off. So, if anyone asks something to be taken down for being a rip-off, don't make it a problem or the thread might have to go, to avoid future problems.

All the sellers on Aliexpress shut down for the new year celebrations? Most of the sellers mention that they will not be shipping orders, and new items do not get posted for sale.

Chinese New Year makes it quiet, lol.

Latest CMF series impact on Historic themes

Plus, the Heavy Metal armour shoulders, scalloped capes in black and brown... The cave-bat club, magical lightning and the lovely hair for Barbara all make good additions to a fantasy/historical collection. -

LEGO Elves 2017 Discussion

The only place I have seen them listed myself was Argos (one of those warehouse places that you order from the catalogue out front and they bring it out or you, FYI) and it says New for March, though I am going to take a nose throughout the month in case they decide to fill some shop-floor display space with a set or two. (There is a wall of all the Batman sets right now) Might be able to grab one early. -
OP may be onto something a little. I recently picked up the Desert Skiff set from 2012 (It was £15 and full of brown, couldn't say no really) MISB. I'm buildingit right now and the instructions feel a lot glossier and the pages thicker than the booklet I grabbed for comparison (This years Catwoman cycle chase for TLBM). Though, we are talking a five year difference and the sets are different sizes.

LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
It amuses me that back when Ninjago was launched there was much wailing and complaint about the colours. The ninja's were too brightly coloured, it was "stupid". Now that they are making them a little more ninja like in appearance there are complaints about all the black! Loving those new swords, new swords are always good! -
Could you maybe not keep posting the same image? Thanks.

In the depths of the ocean lives a little yellow cube. Not Spongebob, nope. It is a Boxfish! I love weird fish and when I was playing around using SNOT techniques, I just had to build a little fish. A bit of forced perspective to hide that the lime green "frond" is holding up the fish, just to add something else I've not tried before, and I was done. I hope people also like this, my return to MOCing really. I've not posted much in the last year or more and I hope to turn it around in 2017.

TRAIN TECH Help, General Questions & Talk to the Staff
Peppermint_M replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Thanks for that, I will see if I can build it! The circle is fine for my purposes, I have wanted to build something train-ish to go on it for quite a while and then the idea of a motor popped into my head.- 578 replies

TRAIN TECH Help, General Questions & Talk to the Staff
Peppermint_M replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Forgive me if this has been asked, but can a motorised train be created for this: track? I bought the Alien Conquest mothership, so I have a full circle of this stuff to work with. I had an idea of a smaller kiddie-train ride sort of build for a display. I have two ideas: some form of central motorised wheel in the tender, as the small gauge wheels can't be fitted to the right axles. Though I am concerned that there might be friction issues on the track "sleepers" . Or: A central motor and an arm that links to the train and pulls it along. (Which would fit the kiddie-ride look). But may face issues of its own and will certainly affect my design. If anyone has any experience, suggestions or ideas I would be grateful.- 578 replies

Anything at all can be locked at moderator discretion. It is how the forum works.

A Doctor Who theme seems to have come to an end, if you want to count some dimensions packs and an Ideas release as a theme. If a thread is causing an issue, being bumped or kept high on the boards despite lack of relevance, it can be locked at Moderator discretion. There is no indication that there will be more Doctor Who sets. If anything is hinted then there is a point to the thread in Licensed and it will be unlocked. The "theme" is over but that does not stop us making more ourselves. To quote: "Go build. Go do something with LEGO."

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Peppermint_M replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Can you please post in English? Not this rather incomprehensible mish-mash of syllables. Thank you. -
Just saw this on Breakfast and lol'ed. Why I stick to the stuff that is never going to be made (Army, weird obscure alternate universe version superheros).

NEXO KNIGHTS Lance's Pigeon - 70312 Alternate (MOC)
Peppermint_M replied to grohl's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Woo, this looks just like a Zoid! Great build there, alternate builds are always fab. -
As far as I know, nothing. The continued life of a thread is decided by moderators according to circumstances, so there is no hard and fast rule.
-
Quite likely, yes. If there is currently only wishful dreaming of an impossible future keeping a thread high in the list for nothing but wishing, the thread will be closed. We like to try and keep things current and relevant. Hence the yearly discussion threads instead of one lasting the life of a theme and the dream wishlist threads I linked.

Not in the wrong places. There are appropriate places for speculation and wishlists to go, and places for them not to go. Then, in some cases, blind hope belongs more in places like Franchises LEGO needs to make, or LEGO Theme ideas.

Ideas for new Lego themes! (Non-licensed)
Peppermint_M replied to The lego fan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That would be so cool! You could have a rescue 'copter and search dog team. Maybe even roll in some more ice-skating or general wintersports (Luge, bobsled would be so cool). Not the place to go into this. If someone wants to grump about LEGO attracting and maintaining the interest of a demographic they traditionally didn't have, let them. I think a more fantastical aesthetic take on space travel, so something less Star Trek more Stargate/Farscape sort of design with a focus on exploration and meeting/making friends with aliens. That would be coool. More Spies is always welcome too. I want to add something along the lines of a more modern adventure/archaeologist group. Lara Croft or Nathan Drake inspired more than the old pulp serials and Indiana Jones style of things. I love it, but a new spin on the old classic would be welcome.
