Superkalle replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
C'MON everybody. I know a lot of people are reading these challenges I put a up, but not many take up the challenge. Be brave, post your replies For this last one there are three (that I know of) solutions. 1 super easy 1 clever 1 difficult -
3 points to Greg for the clean look and good proportions.
-
My vote 2 points to Oky Wan Kenoby for the creativity 1 point to Yonkous for the originality (great lightning too in the photo).
-
My vote: 1 points to Inconspisous for the clean look 1 point to Johnnos for the craziness and humor 1 point to Pedro for the great scene

[KEY TOPIC] LDD feature requests
Superkalle replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
That's not the connection I meant. I was meaning to put a place vertically between two studs (i.e. standing up and pushed down between two studs). -
[KEY TOPIC] LDD feature requests
Superkalle replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Hi Good with more input. Regarding "all parts that can go together should". Please note that LDD will not support "illegal" connections, for example to place a plate vertically between two studs (a technique that was used in Lego se sets many years ago, but is not allowed today). Regarding an advanced program, I know the proposal has been made to the LDD team, and it is under concideration, including "expanded" capabilities. We'll see what happens. -
[KEY TOPIC] Wanted bricks in LDD
Superkalle replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I don't know that much, but it will not be before summer, probably early fall. And most likely in conjuction with the release of next version of LDD. And besides, I don't know if they will add any fan-wanted bricks. They just told me to send the list, so I did. Let's keep our fingers crossed. -
I agree, very impressive indeed! Did you do it in LDD 100%, or did you also use physical bricks to try out the hinges etc? If you did it only in LDD, it could be a great piece to write about (how you did it). I would certainly like to know I guess you know there is an LDD subforum here at EB, and such a story would be an excellent post there. Anyway, I'll make a reference to this thread in the LDD Index Thread.

[KEY TOPIC] LDD feature requests

If there are collision detection errors like you mention, than they are bugs and should defintly be fixed. Can you take some screenshots and add some explanining text? Then the problem can be reported to Lego, and hopefully they fix it. Please post it all in this thread: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=40785 -
Forgive me for being a bit of a noob, but does the forklift actually fold out to the Mecha? And does all the joints work in LDD?

LDD Design Challenge #4
Superkalle replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
@NoWorries: OK, but in what way specifically? Describe even in more detail how you would do it. I'm searching for a certain technique you have to use. -
OK folks, time for LDD Challenge #4. Have a look at this pic. If you try to close the tipper bed you'll find that it's not always easy. Sometimes when you use the green arrows it will close shut, but sometimes it will not close properly, leaving a small gap. I've found that when trying this, only about 1 of 5 times it will shut absolutely close. Surely an irritating "feature" in LDD, but that's how it is. Now for the challenge: Besides the "trial-and-error" method there are a few methods that will close the tipper shut 100% of the times. What are those methods? Explain in text. Scoring: one correct method gives you 1 point, two correct methods 2 points and so on. NOTE: Please be sure to "hide" your reply. If you color the text the same color as the background then.... EDIT: Use the SPOILER tag to hide text - You find it in the Quick Access menu to the left (under the Icons). Thanks Mr Lego Bildur for pointing this out!. Hopefully this will make the resistance to sneek peak a bit higher LXF-file here

No prob - always great to have you over for lego-talk and some cold ones. -
Don't let that stop you The majority of sets you can download in this thread probably miss a part or two. You can either just replace the missing parts with something similar. If you do, preferably you can create a group out of those, so that the person viewing your file can select that group and will see what is "original" and what is your mod. Or you can just leave the missing parts out. But please do post what you got

I'll certainly try. However, can you first provide me with some more info: 1) Operating system and language 2) Version of access, or if you downloaded the 2003 Runtime Then I'd like you to check so the MDB-file is not read-only, or placed in a directory that you don't have rights to modify files. -
You can open a free BrickShelf.com account, there you can upload pics and files. The same goes for Mocpages.com. If you have a hotmail or google account you can also use that to upload files. As a last resort, I think you can also upload to images sites, just rename to .zip, or in worst case to .jpg.

I just want to say that I think it's very innovative the way use LDD to make comics. It's a good example of the cross-over between different diciplines of digital art. Keep up the good work.

Wonderful work on the LXF-file. ADHO15. However, I wish Lego would have colored this model differently. As it is now the terrain has the same tan colors as the house so it's diffiult to appreciate how this building is placed in the middle of nature. I wish they would have used dark-tan for the terrarin. In my mod below, I've used a few pieces that are not manufactured in Dark Tan, but I guess Lego could have had them made. I suppose LEGO had their restrictions when designing this set, but I don't agree with their trade off. And then there are pure design flaws. Like the bridge. It's a bridge that you're supposed to drive a car over. In the Lego model it's placed way too high. LXF-file here

Wow, this is simply stunning. The colors scheme is fabulous. One of the best I've seen. And the way you used those Ice BURPs to create some irregularity. The plants/cactus you used in your Grand Emporium are still fantastic, but this time in white pots. (Question: are they connected to the pot/wheel, or just put on top? A 5/5 MOC...

A brick I couldn't find the set for.
Superkalle replied to Randal's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Well, thanks a lot Etzel. Here I'm trying convince a fellow member not to post too vague questions, and then you have to come in and provide the answer. Swell. Anyway, great to see you here at the LDD part of the universe!
