[KEY TOPIC] Wanted bricks in LDD
Superkalle replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Pas de problem avec l'anglaise (or something like that) Anyway, I notice that the bricks you want are older bricks, and right now LDD focuses on new/current production bricks. This is also the case for older decorations. But we shall never say never, there are a few older bricks in LDD allready now, so there might be more coming in the next release! -
LDD 4.0 to be released in September
Superkalle replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
OK, I see. But I don't think that's what TLG is asking for. They want the finished models, as well as two precedign stages. And besides, it's not that easy to strenghten the models the way you've done them without spoiling the overall sleakness and coolness. So maybe you wan't to finalize the models a bit more before posting here? Just my 2 cents. -
I hope it's not too late to introduce myself

Yepp, but Kiel has promised he'll replace it when he gets around to taking a shot of his sigfig. Will it be the cheerleader? -
Hi A friend at work has this idea to use Mindstorms/LEGO to visualize MES (Manufacturing Execusion Systems). So I was wondering if anyone here knows cases where Mindstorms units have ever been controlled by an industrial PLC, like Siemens Simatic/S7 or similar. Or does anyone have some good examples of LEGO/Mindstorms used to illustrate industrial MES-concepts.

Lego pushing out to too many licenced sets?

This could very well be true. We'll see how it evolves. -
[KEY TOPIC] Wanted bricks in LDD

How incredibly embarrasing of me to miss that. Thanks for pointing that out Aanchir. It's good that we are many here at the LDD forum! Well, all the part definitions, geometries, boundaries, connectivities, decoration graphics etc are in the DB.lif file. The Ldraw.xml file is only a conversion file that maps data from Ldraw geometries to LDD (for the export/import function). Unfortunately, the import/export doesn't work at all well, but personally, I don't think that matters any more, since LDD now contains so many parts (and more coming in LDD 4) -

Hi there. Welcome to the LDD forum. To make it a bit easier for someone to help you, can you please post a link for each part using www.bricklink.com In the meantime, I can help you with the printed brick. If you can't find that print using the Decorations tool, then it's not avaialbe in LDD. Sorry -
Great job on the Indy truck. Specially like the flying Indy and the textile cover mock-up. Here's my mod in LDD (I actually did it physcial brick last year). I know it's not mini-fig friendly since the cab roof is lowered, but IMHO it looks much better then the too short TLG-verion.LXF.

LDD 4.0 to be released in September
Superkalle replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Great to see you're at it again. Lookin good. The only thing I'm thinking is that the model seems kind of fragile. If kids want to order the parts and buld thing it would break up in the first swoosh.... Just my 2 cents. -
Ha, ha...funny. You bumped the topic just to say "stop bumping". And I naturally have to reply saying that is pretty much what I told BrickWild in the first place .... Now, let's hope the next time this topic get's bumped is when we get those highly wanted pics.

Relax BrickWild....be assured that if anyone find pics they'll be posted here (or somewhere else on the internet) within seconds. We're all dying to see this massive set

I just glanced through the shelfs of Lego at my local dealer today. And even though I've seen them all a thousand times, one thing struck me: That's an awful lot of licensed and promotional oriented stuff right now. I mean we have: 1) Prince of Persia sets in the shelfs with the movie in the theaters. 2) Toy Story sets in the shelfs, the movies just coming out. 3) Ben Ten on the shelfs and on TV Then of course there the ever-running Star Wars Clone wars sets and the series running on TV And on top of that, Harry Potter sets are coming in, the game has just been released, the movie is expected soon. My local dealer said that PoP, Toy Story or Ben Ten aren't selling very well. Personally I'm looking forward to some major sales of these sets during the fall, but it makes me wonder - have Lego flooded the market with too many licenced sets? Or is the themes themselfs that the problem - are kids really interested in buying Toy Story figures in Lego or Prince of Persia buildings in Lego. Star Wars is a different thing because they are part of a bigger saga and includes many swooshable sets. And I guess that was the case with Indiana Jones too with lots of vehicles and airplanes.

No prob. I changed your info about the "half shells". And keep up the good work with creating those LDD-files. Awesome job PS: When you reply to a post, can you edit away any pics or uncessary text, just to keep the thread leaner. Like I did in your above post now. Thanks!

It's there. Keep lookin :-) ...Or use the following method (sorry for being a bit over-clear here, but there might be others reading this too, so I'll take if from the top)... 1. Go to www.BrickLink.com 2. Type in set-number (7468 in this case) 3. Find the "2x4x4 half shells" and take note of the part number (6218 in this case) 4. Open LDD Manager 5. Click on "LDD Brick Finder..." and enter 6218 in BrickLink number field. Hit Enter. 6. This will show you that 1) the part exists in LDD and 2) it is in the "Doors" category 7. And since parts are sorted in size-order in LDD, the part would be somewhere in the middle/end within "Doors" category.
