  1. Well, to be honest the LDraw export/import function in LDD is not that good, so don't expect too much.
  2. Hey, what's going on here? Is the little guy taking advantage of the girl when shes saving the guy in the snow? EDIT: Now I saw Eerdbeereis comment
  3. Good finds. LA, that's hardcore Technic lingo for Linear Actuator I presume Thanks a million! Once again, well spotted.
  4. Just got a mail from the LDD team. It appaers there was a problem with the updated 114.5 release, so that only a few users got it. Hopefully it will be fixed by next week so that all users will get it. Anyway, thanks SpiderSpaceman - the LDD team in Billund werent aware of it until you "found" it so creds to you! And sorry for suspecting it was a hoax
  5. Hm, not sure I understand that part. Anyway, I think it's good that we clear this up with TLG. Sure, copying of models is not new. There was always the problem with physical models being copied, but that took such time (and bricks) that only a few did it. And the AFOL community would soon spot it. And sure, there was with LDraw/MLCad the possibility that models were copied in digital format, but LDraw was never used by kids, only by AFOLs. With LDD and DbM we have a completely new case: 1) LDD is used by kids who just copy stuff without thinking and don't understand the concept of "credits". 2) DbM allows kids to upload models to LEGO, which then claim they own them. This is why this is intresting to clarify.
  6. Are there any problems that can be foreseen with this one? I have a vague memory that this was up for discussion a long time ago. For example, mirroring a wedge plate, would require LDD to know which the counterpart is. And also, if you want to mirror the wings of an airplane, you need to define the center-line of mirroring. And what if you do changes on one wing, should those be automatically be mirrored on the other wing. One of the strengths with LDD is that it's so ridiculously easy to use. So how would a mirror function have to look to handle all complex situation but still be easy to use?
  7. First, I suspect you are talking about the LDD/DbM gallery at LEGO.com Secondly, this is an important topic. I will mail the person I know at DbM team and bring this up. In my mind, the LEGO disclaimer is a bit too lame - just giving credit to the original maker is not enough, since with LDD models it's to easy to rip the whole thing. And that is made the property of TGL just by uploading cannot be legaly correct. That would mean that TGL now owns your design rday1982, and that cannot simply be the case. To everyone else - post in the forum if you find more examples of pure copying/plagiarism that is upload to other sites.
  8. Wow, spiderspaceman, pretty impressive list. A few were known before, but there's a good dose of new ones too. I'll report them to TLG for sure. Do you have the LXF-files still? It makes it easier to identify the parts and verify the problems. Out of curiosity, how did you find these errors? Trial and error, or have you collected them over time? In any case, great finds.
  9. Hi Jeff Welcome to Eurobricks. Regarding posting LDD work, please read this topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=39841 As you can see, MOCs, mods etc should bascially be posted in that theme forum. The topic you posted your mods in, should preferably only contain strict recreations of official sets. Naturally if your aim is to make an official LEGO set in LDD, and some pieces are missing, you can substitute those as well as possible. Once again, welcome to EB!
  10. Well, now got a PM from SpiderSpaceman with the following pics:
  11. Exactly - I'm beginning to suspect this is a hoax - no one else has received this update.
  12. Great job! Fantastic
  13. I just noticed that Brickset put up building instructions for the new CubeDudes. Anyone feels like giving them a go in LDD? http://www.brickset.com/miscellaneous/CubeDudes/SDCC10/
  14. See problem fixes here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=40785&view=findpost&p=789409
  15. This is interesting. However, I can't load the zip-file. May be corrupt. Can you re-zip and upload again please. For the ends of the cylinders, you've used the wrong part - it should be this part. You are right that the cone will not connect. However it will fit if you cheat a bit. Yse a technic x-axle in the round 1x1 bricks, then put the 4x4 plate on the cone, turn it upside down, and then slide the cone on the axle in position. But I will report this to Lego as an issue, since the technique is used in an official set.
  16. Aha, I thought it was the Cousteau ship. Absolutely fantastic work. Perhaps you can explain a bit how you did the hull? Why not start a topic about it? "The dane in spain stays mainly in the plain" Or?
  17. Yepp, 28 is all there is. And I don't think we can expect any more torsos for the september release. From what I understand, they are focusing on adding more parts instead. But we'll see.
  18. Well, first one is defintely to update your video drivers, since it seems it is in the OpenGL drivers problem is. Should be here you download: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Graphics&ProductLine=Laptop+graphics+controllers&ProductProduct=Mobile+Intel%c2%ae+4+Series+Express+Chipset+Family
  19. Well spotted! well spotted indeed
  20. Can you tell some more about the event. Lot of people? AFOL focus or kids-focus? Is it always SW theme etc. Thanks!
  21. Fantastic work KielDaMan, both with the MOC and with the picture comparison. It's quality posts like this that makes Eurobricks enjoyable. You've earned a star in my book
  22. I don't see the problem. Can someone else confirm? Also, Prateek, can you share the LXF-file that causes the problem.
