  1. Ahaaaaaa - now I get it You're absolutey right and I suck
  2. Excellent and informative post Davee123 The only thing I don't understand is what you mean when you say that BrickLink's ownwer is protective of the data. I mean, it is possible to download much of the site. Also, I think it's fine that BrickLink is a pure set and part database. Personal collections, set reviews etc I gladly use Brickset and Eurobricks for respectively. What I would like in BrickLink however, is possibility to deeplink to pictures and maybe that an overview/review of the categorisation system is made (it's cracking in the logic sometimes)
  3. Thanks Prateek for that! I've been looking for a long time for a set that uses this technique (i.e. a bar positioned in the cavity of an anti-stud) so that I can show the LDD people that it is a relevant technique. And now I got it. Thanks! BTW - I'm not sure if everyones knows about the anti-stud term. Anyway it's TLG lingo for....well, the hole where the stud goes - not to hard to figure out, but a nice term I think. And to be completely true, TLG actually call it an anti-knob, I guess it feels more natural to them since a stud in Danish is called a "knobb". And that concludes todays lesson
  4. Lookin' good, lookin' good I like the fact that you've made a detailed interior. Extra plus for that.
  5. And the race continues A plea to you all - if you're almost done - please complete it all of you. It's going to be intresting to anaylse the three files for differences.
  6. OK Aanchir - seems we cleared the ovality part out. Let's see if anyone picks up the token. But I don't see the illagility in the step 12 and 13 you mention. The gray brick in step 12-1 is rotated 90 degrees when the gun goes into the hand. The gun is then placed on any of the anti-studs or pins on the back of the reverse sloped 1x2x3 brick. I don't have the set, but from the instructions I can't say that it's illegal.
  7. Thanks for your detailed reply Aanchir. That's the way for quality discussions About the flys feet, my mistake. They are there - sorry. OK, Now I understand why you left the pincers out. I would still put them in though. Regarding propeller circle, looking at the physical model once again, I do seem to detect a slight "ovality" (is that even a word?), so I guess we here have a case where you HAVE to make a slight oval in LDD to make it fit - a nice task for you This is something I'll bring up with the LDD Team, since I know there has been talk in the future to lock the click-hinges to 22.5 degress so you can't free-rotate them like you can today. This model however shows that there must be a slight "give" in the joints, otherwise you won't be able to make this model (among others).
  8. What where the steps you took to come to this situation? Did you just place them like that, or where they part of a bigger construction and you deleted the bricks around?
  9. Hi clagreco Welcome to the LDD forum. Firstly, I'm not sure I fully understand your post. What do you mean "you cannot disable it"? I'm guessing that you mean you can't disable the hallmark LDD snap-to-stud feature, i.e. you want to be able to free-place bricks. But can you do this in Lego Universe game? Otherwise, I'm not sure how this releates to the game? Normally when you bump an old topic, it's because there has been some new development in that area, not just that you want to agree with another poster.
  10. Hi First, to reduce bloating the forum, please reduce the size of screenshots before uploading them. About your question, no there is no piece in LDD that will connect to it. Normally it would be wheel 32007, but there is no connectivyt defined in LDD (yet). May be fixed in future versions though.
  11. Welcome to Eurobricks. Any chance of a link to that creation of yours
  12. Hi Great job. I don't have many Exoforce sets, but I do have this one, so I had to take it out of the cupboard and have a look. The fly is really well done by the TLG designer in my mind. Some comments: 1) I would defintely place the pincers, even though there is a small gap. 2) Question: Why didn't you rotate the propellers 90 degrees as they should be. 3) You forgot the "feet" of the fly (yellow spikes) The most bewildering part of this is why the 5.5 axles will not fit. If you remove the centerpiece 32034, you can mount the 5.5 axles and they seems to (incorrectly) go flush with the propeller axle. In other words, could it possibly be so that in the physcial model, the 5.5 axles push the circle into a slight oval (hence being "illegal"). Or is it so that the circle in your LDD model is not 100% circular (how did you do it by the way, it looks really good)?
  13. Here you can post if want others to know that you plan to start, or is working on an official set for the Official sets in LDD topic. Please note that it is totaly OK to make a LDD model of an official set even if someone else is working on it or has done it. Posting a note in this topic does not mean that you have sole right to build it. Also, in this topic you can post Requests for sets to be made in LDD by someone else. PS: I don't plan to establish an index for this topic, think of it more as an open billboard. So please, if you've completed a set that you have marked Booked or WIP, update your post in this topic with "EDIT: DONE" when you're done. Also, if you've requested a set, and someone has done it, please update your request post with "EDIT: COMPLETED by nn"
  14. Hi Morten Just some friendly remarks: 1) Please use capital letters at the beginig of senctences. Makes it easier to read 2) The point you made has allready been posted above. You are of course entitled to express your opinion, but it's important that you read the thread before posting to avoid uncessary duplications.
  15. I get the same feeling. I think BL has now become the de-facto standard for refering to parts and sets (even though Brickset has a fantastic search function and other goodies). What I like with Peeron is that you can deeplink to brick images, whereas in BL you can't. Also, as far as I understand, Peeron is fan/enthusiast driven, and BrickLink is strictly commercially driven. Still there seems to be a link between the two, but I don't fully understand it (anyone?). Also on the CAD side, LDraw is now slow on updates, whereas LDD is taking off and adding more bricks and advanced features. Are we seeing the end of enthusiast/AFOL driven LEGO databases and utilities?
  16. Welcome to EB. Here you are among fellow AFOLs
  17. Must have missed that. Thanks for pointing it out.
  18. @CP5670 or Zblj: Do you have any examples of sets where it was connected to half-beams. I want to see it with my own eyes in an instruction. Do you know of any examples where it could be used for think beams. Maybe if you want to fit something in the hole on the other end of the stud? PS: You can probably figure out this has to do with LDD @grogall and Brickaroo - I'm not sure you understand what I mean. I'm not asking if the technic pin with stud has ever been used (that I know), but if it's been used like my illustration in the first post!
  19. I mean exactly like Rick has understood it. And yes, I asking my self the same thing - why not use a full peg. But for various reasonn I still wonder if there is any set that TLG for some reason (maybe for easy disconnecting) has used the technic peg with stud INSTEAD of a full technic peg?
