  1. There are no established religions for Historical. There are plenty of shrines, temples and holy places for many different religions and deities. Here are the Drow that I use: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=89539&hl=
  2. Gabe! Welcome back! What a fantastic build! I placed your sigfig in my Brickworld layout this year, reminiscing about your builds, and then you magically post! Coincidence?
  3. It's actually black skin with white hair, per Dungeons and Dragons.
  4. The main races (DwRves, Elves, Orcs, Drow, etc. have been established already in Historica, but you ate pretty free to use other races, as long as they don't majorly conflict with Avalonia's environment or denizens in general. We do have occasional Drow raids, there are a few Dwarves, Gnomes and Orcs living in Avalonia, etc.
  5. CF is correct. I missed that the question was specific to the Enchanted Forest.
  6. The northern region of Avalonia bordering Mitgardia is hilly, almost to the point of being mountainous. The central and southern portions of Avalonia's mainland are flat plains, with occasional Hills. The terrain in the Mystic Isles and the great forest vary greatly.
  7. These figures, your descriptions and your presentation are all excellent! Great task entry! For most builds, I find that 4 of a particular troop are plenty.
  8. To my knowledge, he only comes in the Zepplin set. The new battle pack looks to have some interesting parts, but with two non-ninja-colored ninjas (red and white), it will be more cost-effective to BL the parts I want.
  9. Great to see Hemresa back in Avalonia!
  10. Combination. For Star Wars, I rely primarily on battlepacks with a few exceptions. For Castle/Historic I rely on CMFs and Bricklink with a few exceptions. Notably the Uruk-hai and Mirkwood LotR sets and the castle battle packs that occasionaly come out (The problem with these is that they usually come with a king or Knight that is less useful than the common soldiers. Your price for fig is going to depend on what you want and what you are comfortable with spending. I don't like to spend more than $5 per fig, but there have been numerous exceptions.
  11. I was going to join Mitgardia or Nocturnus until I saw that Avalonia was home to the Elves. Then my fate was sealed (not that aren't Elves in every Guild). Kaliphlin was too unforested and deserty for my liking.
  12. Those are fantastic! Love the use of the cape for the standard as well!
  13. I don't think it will be an issue using an entry submitted for GoH in a GoH poster, as long as we are not making a profit.
  14. That's great that you are displaying this year! A number of us will be displaying at the WisLUG table.
  15. It may be better to coordinate this with the start of the next book, or some other major event. This typically provides more incentive to rejoin/participate again.
  16. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=92705&st=0
  17. The Rogue looks exactly like a Rogue- mask over the face, bow and arrow, a Ranger wouldn't typically wear the mask, and if you go by dungeons and dragons, would have two swords and potentially an animal companions. Also, the Wolfpack Renegades are renegades, which equates to Rogues and thugs in my mind.
  18. I would love to see an 1800s Fire Brigade member. The choice of CMF figures does seem to be random for a large part. There are some pairs of figures they do, but then some make very little sense. What is the point of a spooky boy? I would much rather have seen a boy dressed as a cowboy, or with a toy boat, or some other more common scenario that could utilize the specialized torso/leg pieces. Each series is always complete surprise as to the figures included (even though some figs like banana guy and Mariachi could have been guessed for S16, everything else kind of came out of left field.)
  19. Well, the KK2 heraldry is not the same as the Wolfpack, and if the Nexo figure is not Wolfpack either, the only other WP would be the upcoming Rogue CMF, correct?
  20. That's good to know. I always think of it as being the biggest and best US event (so I've heard) but I wasn't sure how it compared to international events.
  21. This is the difference between a MOCer and a collected.
  22. So, Z, Ecc and myself will be attending, along with SI-Mocs, Silversmith, and MKJosha (I assume). Who else will be attending this year?
  23. Blue jewels and colored pockets are in no way comparable. If a torso has a big blue jewel smack-dab in the middle of it, I have to explain why the character is wearing that jewel, which is not that big a deal for one character. When I have 20 different torsos with jewels, then I have to have some explanation as to why those character are wearing jewels, and I can no longer use them with most historic builds. If a character has blue pockets or green pockets, who cares? Maybe they have bad fashion sense, but it doesn't matter. If a torso has a big pirate symbol in the middle of their chest, I cannot use that for my revolutionary war builds, I cannot use that for my ancient builds, I cannot use it for my standard castle builds. I can use it for my fantasy builds or Star Wars builds if they are part of some pirate faction, but it SEVERELY LIMITS its usefulness. I have made a snake faction in Fantasy so I can use the snake characters from Ninjago, but 90% of the characters from Ninjago have to be pirates, ninjas or snakes which is severely limiting. It has nothing to do with imagination. The LotR line gave us a wealth of torsos that I use all over the place, because not one of them (I don't think) has a logo or emblem that really limits it's usefulness like Ninjago does. I can come up with ways to use a lot of torsos, but a logo changes it from being very usable in many factions/time periods to very narrow use and scope.
  24. With the gunners just recently out, and the imperial techs currently out in BPs, this is the cheapest they are going to get. If you are OK with the Rebels version of the Stormtrooper, their BP is again the best deal you are likely to get.
  25. Ninjago SHOULD be providing us with a wealth of historic fig-parts, but most of the pieces have been marred by some sort of emblem or logo or tattoo, making them virtually useless outside Ninjago, or a Ninjago-type environment. The pirates are a perfect example - the torsos would have been fantastic, had those stupid little pirate emblems not been on every one. Lego has already demonstrated that the Ninjago figs are Ninjago-specific, and I have no reason to think a Ninjago CMF line would be any different.
