Albion: the capital city of Avalonia

Go for it! -
Gorgeous army; I also love the mounts. The dinosaurs work very well with the orcs. I picked up one of the newer Triceratops, and wish I'd picked up a few more.

I like the use of the angled walls, and the greenling and general build/concept. You may want to provide a little more consistency with your use of white: more widespread or more concentrated. Right now it seems a bit random and uneven IMO. Nice build!

No love for Brickworld this year? I am very excited, but have way too much to build yet (as usual).

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Rogue Angel replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
As Kai said, current Lion is typically associated with Kaliphlin. Leo and classic lion themes are not as firmly linked to Kaliphlin and are a little more open to interpretation. It is perfectly gine to wrap Kaliphlin into your backstory. Your character could also live on the border of Avalonia with Kaliphlin, which good some more integration potential. That being daid, you do need to somehow employ dark green and sand green into your characters heraldry as an Avalonian. -

I am referring to the TRU exclusive licensed minifigs, like Star Wars and Lotr, not polybags in general. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 18 Rumors and Discussion
Rogue Angel replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
This is the best CMF series to date! For a series I thought was going to be largely throw-away, and after a large gap in good CMFs, this is a huge surprise! The overall quality of these figures just blows me away. There looks to be about 20 new pieces or at least recolors, and some real gems likes the dragon, the mouse, the cat, the cactus, the flower... quite a collection. I do think that Lego will use this as an excuse to bump the price again though to $4.50 or $5.00 USD/figure. The $4.99 TRU polybags just jumped to $5.99 with the DJ figure - a cheaper fig and packaging to make, but licensed. -

Welcome KevinyWu! Great to have another GoHer! This is the perfect place to post WiPs. I personally am working on cleaning up pictures from a large build I did a while ago, that I will hopefully be able to post soon. The pace of activity here tends to vary, but there are always people working on builds, even if they are not posting. It has been a while since we've had a round of updates, and this is the perfect time of year for a lot of people to have a little free time. Please post if you are still active in GoH, what guild you are still a member of, and what you are currently working on that's Guild (or just Lego (or non-Lego if you just have no time to build right now)) related. -
Guilds of Historica New Member Guide

Happy Holidays, and Merry Christmas! I hope everyone is having a safe and enjoyable holiday season (if celebrating). I have invited Avalonians to post updates in the Avalonia thread as to what they are working on, or what they are up to right now. I'd like to invite any members from other guilds to stop on by and post as well. I'm curious to know what everyone is up to. Thanks! -

Welcome to Avalonia! DeGothia is the current leader of Avalonia. -
Thanks for another fantastically detailed review. This series is surpridingly useful for a non-traditional CMF series. I am enthralled by the fish headpieces, and I'm loving some of the figures (Sushi chef, Rock-Cole, N-Pop girl) the bowls are the big selling point for me. The entire Ninjago movie line of sets has traditional Japanese figs that the Temple of Airjitzu was sorely missing (which would have made it a day-one-buy for me instead of a no-buy)

@TitusV That is one of the most innovative builds I've seen in a while, between the roof building, the road construction, the nice farming technique with the log bricks (at an angle to boot), but my favorite by far is the ditch digging in progress with the supports in place. Excellent 12 hour build! @ZlatanXVIGustaf Welcome to Avalonia! Nice sigfig, and a nice collection of Avalonian troops to boot! -

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Rogue Angel replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
At least there are some useful parts in the Ninjago series figs. Much better than another Lloyd or Zane fig. -
I've started ordering 1 or 2 more of pieces for that exact reason. I always seem to have to place one last BL order 2 weeks before BW and hope it arrives in time.

Challenge: "A safe haven"- Celebrating five years of GoH!
Rogue Angel replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
@Gideon This was Oct 16 through April 17 for me, so I can feel your pain. You will however have time to build for Brickworld 2018, correct? -
Richchie, that is a giant Lotr collection and I really like the baseplate setup. Exetrius, thank you for bringing those Ninjago pieces to my attention. This year's Ninjago sets are excellent for fantasy army building!

The Elves sets always look so promising, but they just don't have enough high value pieces for me. There are too many brightly colored pieces that are hard to use. I would say about 1/6 of Elves set pieces are pretty useful, but the rest seem to be average or less in value to me. The tans and browns are nice, but I have been relying on Bricklink or parts drafts for the parts I want.

Great Elves Wardancer! The torsos work well, as do the LotR helms. I like the sword as one of the better options available, but we could really use a lighter Elven blade from TLG or one of the 3rd parties IMO.

I am doing the draft and build challenge this year that just got announced from Brickworld. I wanted it to be similar to a sealed draft competition for Magic the Gathering, and hope it will be a lot of fun. There are only 20 spots though, and it may fill up quickly.

I was wondering how there wasn't a thread on here yet for BW 17 or for Dale's pizza party. I have been in panic mode for about 6 months. I moved and have gone through an agonizing separation from my brick of about 7 months. I am scrambling now that I finally have access again, but am very excited for Brickworld.

Excellent work on both! Thank you for posting links in this thread. -
Excellent build! I'm surprised there has only been a single response!
