  1. From the looks of things DC's characters already have a significant presence in the movie itself, it's not such a stretch in my mind. Especially since it's not like Lego's "IPs" like Ninjago, Chima, etc. seem to have a big part in it from the trailers and stuff I've seen. Besides, a Lego DC character is still pushing Lego's products, and still taking advantage of their "moment" as much as anything else. They've used licensed figures for a lot of promotional things in the past, a more broadly recognizable character is a good incentive. Yeah, they could. They probably will put him in a set eventually. We're just hoping to see him this year, and the DVD/Bluray seems like the only way that might happen with DC not seeming like it's getting anything else. Ask for a replacement? That's weird, but any part can be defective I suppose. Also, how do we not have some pictures from Nuremburg yet? Almost every other theme has gotten them, except for TMNT and Super Heroes!
  2. Yeah I'm really excited to get new dogs, with new molds. Even better that they come in fours!
  3. I won't argue with that. But he is at least a possibility considering there seem to be no new DC sets on the horizon this year, and he's apparently going to play some semi-meaningful part in the film. The other main characters all appear to be covered by sets/the movie CMF series. I'll be hopeful, but not very optimistic. Green Lantern's about all that could really interest me in the whole Lego Movie thing, I'm not exactly on the boat with that.
  4. Yeah they look really good. I'm anxious on what the prices will look like, though, since I want most of the theme... Piece-wise the base should come in around $80 but for all the talk about licensed sets being pricier, at least in the States it seems like city sets never come in at 10 cents per piece. I'm expecting $100 for it, $40-50 like you said for the helicopter, probably $60-80 for the mobile outpost truck.
  5. As for C, both of the Ghostbusters projects were basically for the same. Even if they decided to make two sets it wouldn't really amount to approving both (unless they gave us the fire house from the approved one). There's also the fact that there was most likely a -lot- of overlap in the votes, doesn't necessarily mean it's twice as popular.
  6. No, but didn't they release a special Bilbo figure with the blu-ray release of the Hobbit, or something like that? They still could (and most likely will, I think) have a figure with the DVD. If it's Green Lantern, then awesome. I wouldn't be surprised if it's just another Emett or Wildstyle though. Er... Not to say we don't need some non-Batman sets, but aren't you forgetting the whole wave of Man of Steel sets just last year?
  7. Honestly, I didn't know they sold these at non-Lego Store retail locations at all. I've never seen a Cuusoo set on a store shelf outside a branded Lego store, so as far as I was aware that wasn't an issue.
  8. I'd kill to have the room to get into trains. But my wife would kill me if I dove into that money-eating black hole of collecting, too. As if I don't have enough themes that I regularly get!
  9. Part of what I'm taking away from this, unfortunately, is that bigger projects don't have much hope with Cuusoo. The implication there is still troubling, considering how many projects on Cuusoo are pretty large.
  10. Well, even if you can't tell a lot from the depth on the picture, neither building is more than 12 studs deep. The bike shop looks to be 12, the other looks to be 10. The actual part selection does look decent, but it suffers from the smallness of each building. Even combining them together I think you'd be hard pressed to make one decent looking two-story 16-wide modular structure. I like them, I suppose, I just think they could've done without the sidewalk part of the build and had more actual bricks to compensate. Also, it really depends on the price range. If this ends up being $70-80, as rumored, and you need two of them to do much of anything with, why not just buy one of the actual modulars that will (most likely) amount to more parts?
  11. Looks like the bear mold from the Forest Police line, but it's new as a polar bear. The previous polar bear was less detailed and had no printing.
  12. Oh, nice. Thanks for informing me! I haven't seen it at my local stores in ages so I figured it was gone-- but my local Walmart and Target aren't really the best with their Lego stocking. Hopefully I can budget for it before it's gone. Buuut I also really need Grand Emporium, and who knows how much longer that'll be around... So much Lego, so little time (and money)! Wonder when we'll get Super Heroes pics from Nuremburg, the other themes seem to be getting them now.
  13. Agreed with basically all of that. Finding these a little disappointing-- at the size they're at the sidewalks are a serious disservice. The interiors are going to be tiny. It does look like a decent parts pack, but it also needs like you'd need at least two, probably three, to do anything respectable with it. I wasn't expecting a full 16-wide modular, or anything, but I guess I imagined something somewhat more compatible than this. And what kind of bike shop only has one bike. That's just insulting, really. I thought Lego might finally be bringing back the lessons learned from MMV but this doesn't inspire confidence.
  14. Agreed about Cap, would look so much better with a Flash-style headpiece with the old school wings. Your enthusiasm for the black-suited Batman will be tempered once you get more caught up and have an army of them, though. I still need the blue/grey variant, seem to have missed out on the Batcave.
  15. Too bad they're leaving the building out of it. Despite CUUSOO being mostly AFOL-aimed (as far as I can tell, anyway, with it all being science/'80s licenses save Minecraft), it doesn't seem like they really consider big sets an option for it. I like Ghostbusters but an ECTO-1 isn't really a must-buy for me. +1 on hoping they don't screw it up like the DeLorean. Regardless, I expected one of the two Ghostbusters sets-- I couldn't imagine them having any issues with the license on this one. Seems like the sort of thing everyone involved would've been excited about.
  16. I dunno why, but I generally don't have an issue with the rubber headpieces- I actually really like Flash's mask, one of my favorite headgear pieces from this whole line. Batman's suit is (as far as I know) a new print, in that set. Either way I'd rather get it than another black Batman like we get in almost every single other set.
  17. That's why I included the " ." Also the whole second half of my post.
  18. Yeah, I also have a "friend" who "works at Lego" who says we're getting a 5000 piece D2C Justice League Watchtower with Martian Manhunter, Hawkgirl, Cyborg, Shazam, and 8 other minfigs. I take the rumors with a grain of salt when they don't come from somewhere like All About Bricks with a serious track record of being right. We were supposedly gonna see GL this year according to some other rumor but that seems unlikely.
  19. More likely just part of the prelim-ness of the picture. I don't think they'd throw in a reference to the comics that would confuse the youngest members of their target audience with regards to turtle identification.
  20. I would hope we'll see a Wasp figure in a set around the time Ant-Man comes out. I know they skipped the last few standalone movies for set tie-ins, but I feel like Ant-Man will get something since it's a new property (for films, anyway). That said I don't know for sure that Wasp will be in the Ant-Man film, but I can't imagine how they could leave her out entirely. Yeah, that's what we'd heard from some of the toy fair recaps. I'm not real bothered by it, personally. If the MoS, Bat vs. Bane, and to an extent the Iron Man 3 sets are any real indication it's that Lego does better with comic/cartoon tie-ins than movie ones. At least in my opinion.
  21. Yeah, the more I look at them the less atrocious they seem. I'm pretty sure for general audience purposes the color-coding was change enough (they all had red knee/elbow/mask wraps in the original art), but it's not -so- bad giving them accessories for their 'traits.' Donny does look kinda neat with the tech vibe, not big on Mike though. I will say, Shredder at least doesn't look any worse than the whole Super-Shredder bit from the sequel to the original movie.
  22. ...I dunno how I feel about any of that.
  23. I hope so. I'm anxious to get my hands on that Penguin set, and I missed Cap the first time around-- which is just as well, since Red Skull is a very welcome addition (more than the alien soldiers from the Avengers set). I don't mind the Hydra tank that much. It's not great but not too bad, either. I just wish it had one more Hydra trooper, one henchman isn't really enough for anything and since he doesn't come in any other set, it's disappointing.
  24. Yeah I don't think a purist custom Iron Spider is possible. Not really a torso that would work. Or a head.
  25. I'll never understand why people upload still images onto youtube instead of an imagehosting site. Especially for prelims that youtube takes down.
