Colossus wouldn't be bad. I don't remember him being in the video game, but bigfig Juggernaut was and looked pretty cool, if we are fortunate enough to get a bigfig I'm hoping for him, personally. I guess Beast could be made one but I think he'd do better as a minifig-- really hoping we see him even though I imagine Cyclops is the only other good guy we get in this set.

Here's hoping they'll release at least one F4 set next year to coincide with the reboot, the way they're doing with X-Men this year.

LEGO parts made of Chinese plastic?
Hrafnblod replied to Henchmen4Hire's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Soft pieces have been used in standard sets too, for a little while now. Both in the flexible accessories like the older Atlantis trident and the sort of hard-rubber headpieces like some of Atlantis' headpieces, and the mosquito alien heads in Galaxy Quest or whatever the current space line is. Dunno if those parts are made in China or not, though I don't mind it for specialty pieces (and on some it actually works better than standard ABS). -
It might actually not be the worst thing if they did considering they'd be building the jet out of (optimistically) ~200 pieces.

Unicorn horns 'not right' for current horse helmet?
Hrafnblod replied to badbob001's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That sounds pretty plausible. Some of my old helmets are a huge pain to get the horns pried out of. -
LEGO parts made of Chinese plastic?
Hrafnblod replied to Henchmen4Hire's topic in General LEGO Discussion
In fairness, they do at least put on the box whether or not any pieces are made in china. It came as a surprise when I first discovered it, but it you really object you can, at least, not buy the sets with Chinese parts. I really wouldn't mind it though, if they'd just even out the quality. -
I agree overall. And I totally get that goofy looks are sort of comicish anyway, I just haven't ever been a fan of Galactus' design, personally. I'd still like to see him in Lego form, though! More characters are always good, and I could see him being flashlight/clock sized (though I don't think they'll ever produce one of those as a unique character like that), but brick built would be cool too as long as they give him plenty of pieces for detail. Not like the sentinel. And I totally like fun movies, Thor 2 is one of my favorite Marvel films yet and it wasn't very serious at all. Silver Surfer is cool as hell. Nothing goofy about surfing. Especially surfing through space. That's my fear too, especially split with the Sentinel. I'm wondering what big mould/possible bigfig(?) we might get with the price/piece ratio being that far off. I'm going to hope against hope that we might get a bigfig Juggernaut or something crazy like that.

LEGO parts made of Chinese plastic?
Hrafnblod replied to Henchmen4Hire's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That's fair, and I kinda second-guessed my statement after posting but didn't bother to edit it. After all, Lego and Megabloks are obviously not of the same caliber, generally speaking. But it seems like they'd be able to maintain some consistency within the company since it's not like you can really distinguish stuff made in the US plants vs. the Denmark plants. Chinese pieces almost always stand out though. -
I kinda agree with this sentiment. There were plenty of issues with that movie, but Galactus being a planet-devouring cloud isn't really one of them. I always thought his physical form looked kind of... goofy and not as scary as a devourer of worlds should be.

LEGO parts made of Chinese plastic?
Hrafnblod replied to Henchmen4Hire's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Ironically, what made me look into things and find out that CMFs are made in china was when I picked up my first couple of them (series 9) and immediately noticed the plastic didn't seem up to snuff. Mostly the aforementioned hands that accessories pop out of at the slightest touch, and less 'grippy' feet, plus the cheap lightweight feeling to begin with. I was googling the issue almost as quickly as I got the figures assembled. It bothers me a bit, but it is what it is and with how popular the CMFs are it's not like Lego is gonna change their stance on it. I just wish they'd keep it out of regular sets, because it is usually pretty immediately apparent that the plastic quality is lower; something I don't even really understand since ABS should be ABS. -
He didn't appear physically but he was technically in the second F4 movie, if I recall correctly. So yeah, Fox has rights to him in terms of movies.

My thought is more just that if we get more now, while a lot of batman villains (and allies) are in circulation with the current crop of sets, we're more likely to get new characters. If we don't get more until some of what's out have retired they seem more likely to put out repeats of characters that were just retired (Magneto/Wolverine, for example, on the Marvel front).

To DC fans. :P But yeah, I pointed out a page or two ago that a lot of it comes down to DC doing a terrible job of managing its properties compared to Marvel. I guess overall though it's harder for me to notice the disparity among kids because I keep forgetting they aren't really running a lot of DC cartoons these days, it wasn't that long ago that I was a 'kid' and there were -always- incarnations of the Justice League and Superman and such with their own cartoons. It's just kind of fallen apart in recent years, I guess largely because of WB dying off. But I'm plenty aware that kids aren't getting stuff from comics, just from film (and TV); I never even read comics much as an actual kid.

As likely as this is seeming now that stuff is leaking about summer Marvel sets, I'm going to hold out hope. 4 system sets for the year is going to look really bad considering how much Marvel is getting. I'm sure Duplo counts on a technical level, from Lego's business standpoint, but it's basically useless to my (and probably most AFOLs) collection.

I'm actually on your side, on the whole. I'm just being realistic about Green Lantern, the last round of GL merchandise coincided with the movie and, as many here have said, sold horribly. Lego isn't likely to give him his own set because, for better or worse, the most recent example of GL-based toys did badly and companies tend to take notice of that sort of thing. I absolutely think that Teen Titan sets would sell, considering how popular both the former and current series seem to be with the target audience. I only said "I'll take more batman sets" in response to the notion that if we got more DC sets, that's all they'd be. I'd rather have more Batman sets with ancillary DC characters than no more DC sets of any sort. More than that, I'd rather have non-Batman sets, which I suspect we'll get sooner or later because frankly they're running out of main-line Batman villains to put in them.

It's kind of a shame everything has to be put on hold for the movie sets. Not that they aren't neat, they are, but I'm not all that interested in any of them, personally. On the other hand, my collection could really use Batgirl (and Robin, since I've not actually gotten him yet). I disagree with your second bit though, I'll even take more batman sets if they can give me a Green Lantern. I need Green Lantern.

I don't think that's necessarily it. Other places in the world already have the steamroller and duckboat, and honestly two sets released a few months later aren't going to fool anyone into considering it a second wave. I don't really have an explanation, though, it seems pretty asinine to launch two sets at a time in the biggest market.

I've heard March tossed around, but I don't think anyone really knows. Other than the assumption that Lego is focusing more on the Lego Movie sets, I don't think anyone has a clue why they didn't launch the whole Batman wave at once, anyway. It makes no sense to me.

That's what we've all been assuming, since as far as any leaks have shown there's only one X-men set coming out this year. Edit: just2good beat me to it. He might be a fan favorite but the overwhelming majority of his material isn't especially kid friendly, so I still consider it out of left field, personally. Not that I'm complaining, he's one of my favorite figures.

Yeah I've been thinking all along people were drawing a lot from virtually nothing, but I also think that if we get another X-man besides Wolverine and Storm, Cyclops is the most likely candidate. It's fairly safe to assume he'll be included, unless Lego come out of left field, which they sort of did with Deadpool. So you never know.

Future Castle sets - put your hopes and ideas here
Hrafnblod replied to Alfadas's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Mostly what people have already said. Better heraldry, more civilian sets, and just more sets period. This last castle wave was completely half-assed. I didn't hate it as much as a lot of people here (though the lions were admittedly stupid looking on the shields and flags), but 5 sets? And really, the Kingdoms line had its own issues. The 'evil' faction, if they have to have one, needs a proper base of operations. Dragon mountain or the green dragon knight's tower/fort aren't really sufficient (though I really like the latter), I want a castle for each faction. Does it have to be a $100 one? No, of course not. But back in the heyday of castle, every team had their own home base. Just giving the dragon knights something like Fire Breathing Fortress would've been cool, not as big as the 'main' castle perhaps but still a functional fortress, instead of just a facade. Basically I'd just like to see more castle. Unfortunately it looks like it's sitting out for 2014, hopefully we get something more like fantasy castle when it comes around again. I doubt we will though, at least until LotR/The Hobbit have played out, since they take that niche. Fantasy was the last time Castle was really -great,- IMO. Every one of the 4 factions had a distinct home base of their own, which was really nice. And they were all fleshed out well in general. -
At the bottom of the Storm/Magneto picture, you can see the top of a set box with a minifig preview on it. Best I can tell that's the 'dark blue' figure everyone's talking about (but to me it looks more like a silhouette).

Yeah, come to think of it DC (and the companies they work with like CN) just really mismanage their whole multimedia empire compared to Marvel. DC should be pushing their cartoons a lot harder in general, and not just Teen Titans Go!, because that's not really any different (or any better) than CN's other nonsense like Uncle Grandpa. It is surprising we can't even get a Teen Titans set, I wouldn't mind something like that (imagine just a mid-expensive set with Robin, Cyborg, one or both of the girls, and Slade. Would be pretty sweet). I don't expect we'll see any C-list DC characters for a while but it's ridiculous we can't even really get B-list. Or non-Batman A-list. I agree with you on the X-men stuff though, aside from being glad we're at least getting a variant on Magneto (don't need two of the old one). I'm really hoping since it's a $50 set we're looking at two minifigs besides the confirmed Wolverine/Magneto/Storm. I'd be totally fine with Cyborg instead of Martian Manhunter, personally. We just -really- have to get a Green Lantern soon, it's ridiculous we haven't yet, but with Flash and Aquaman making cameos I can't imagine we won't have him in the next wave or two. Also, I'd be pumped if we could "just" get Cyclops, Rogue, Beast, Gambit, Iceman, Jean Grey.... Even those seem optimistic at this point.

Wild speculation, but the piece count and price don't really line up well on that X-Men set. Big-fig included, possibly? One way or the other though, 336 pieces doesn't sound good for the actual build quality including both the jet and the sentinel. I'm assuming the price-per-piece ratio on that big GotG set will be because of Groot.
