  1. The main thing I've noticed is that torsos made in China seem to have less grippy hands. It takes almost no pressure to pull (or more often, inadvertantly knock) accessories out of the hands of my CMF figures, plus some other torsos I haven't checked but suspect are MIC (some Chima stuff mainly). The legs are also a bit 'looser' on the hip, they move more freely on some of them. It's not a huge annoyance but I have gotten where, if I have the appropriate colored hands, I like to pull spares off my graveyard of old mismatched/broken torsos/arms from my old box of childhood legos and replace the stock CMF ones.
  2. SuperHeroes: DC: 76013 Joker's Steamroller 76010 Batman: The Penguin Face-Off Marvel: 76014 Spider-Trike vs. Electro 76016 Spider-Helicopter Rescue (tentative, not totally sold on Goblin yet) 76017 Captain America vs. Hydra 76018 Hulk Lab Smash Plus whatever the summer wave ends up being, I'll grab any GotG sets I need to complete the team and the X-men set Other than that, probably a few of the Hobbit sets (mostly to shore up my orc army for castle stuff, they mesh reasonably well with the old Castle Trolls for me). Maybe the Goblin King set on clearance. Also need to at least pick up the Turtle lair, I'm missing Leonardo. Dunno what else, since Castle last year seems to've been a one-and-done wave.
  3. I'm just saying in terms of exposure, the target audience is more likely to have seen the semi-goofy Burton movie Joker than read the Killing Joke, since that's not exactly a 5-8yr-old's comic book. As for putting Batgirl in it, I'm chalking that up to her being part of the Bat-family (which Lego is pushing most among DC properties) and it's the most expensive set of the wave. Plus they need some incentive to buy that set considering the otherwise mostly rehashed figures and that god-awful batplane. As neat as Sabertooth or Mystique would be I'm -really- hoping for another X-man in the Blackbird set. I'm with everyone else in assuming 5 figures considering the price point, so I'm really hoping Cyclops (seems obvious from the picture), Storm, Wolverine and Beast (though I know he won't be in there, he's my favorite actual X-man) vs. Magneto/Sentinel, since they just had to rehash two figures we already got. Here's also hoping we hear something about a summer DC wave during the toy fairs. My Justice League needs a Green Lantern. And Martian Manhunter of course, but I'm not as much a fan of him; Green Lantern's my favorite DC hero alongside Flash. Surely they won't have so many Marvel sets for 2014 and leave us with just the 4 new Batman sets for DC. -Surely.-
  4. As I think someone else pointed out, while Batgirl's alter ego was in the Killing Joke fairly prominently she didn't actually appear as Batgirl at all. And the duck boat is a pretty overt Burtman reference, so I'm still gonna call the fedora Joker a movie throwback, just not a set actually based on the film. Also, what I really wish is that DC would run some cartoons for the sets to be based on like Ultimate Spider-man, in the sense of adding more obscure characters. Brave and the Bold has been gone for a bit now, so they probably won't be using that as a source, but as bad as the cartoon is, Ultimate Spider-man is the only reason we've gotten Iron Fist/Power Man/Nova (though we may have gotten Nova in GotG sets later depending on how the movie goes). It's too bad DC isn't pushing their other characters a little harder, or at least running a JL cartoon (as far as I know there isn't one on the air right now?). Would like to see some support characters like Black Manta, Professor Zoom/Reverse Flash, Martian Manhunter and obviously Green Lantern and Sinestro. All that being said, nice to see some new photos. Everyone was hoping for a brick-built Sentinel and really, it looks about like what I'd expect from an official set. I bet it could be modded into something better pretty easily, if that's what it looks like. Disappointed though, that if we're only getting one new X-Men set it's gotta have two characters we already got in the only X-men set to come out already, even if it's nice to see Wolverine's cowl. Would've much preferred the Blackbird come with Storm, Cyclops, and Beast + Sentinel and another figure or two (not a huge X-men fan so I don't care who fills in the rest, mostly just want 4 different protagonists to make a sort of 'core' team with).
  5. Except we -do- get some older styled stuff considering the Joker in the Steamroller and the whole Penguin duckboat are both basically throwbacks to the old Batman movies. At least, I'm assuming the steamroller joker is a reference to Jack Nicholson's, given the fedora. Also the junior's set is straight up '60s TV Batman.
  6. I'm looking to bricklink the pieces I don't have from a set (Armada Flagship, 6280), and I found a seller who seems to have basically parted that exact set out. Is it bad form to buy all the pieces I need from one seller, even if it means 50+ lots of mostly quantities of 1-5 pieces? It feels like kind of an obnoxious thing to do, but it's also tremendously more practical than using multiple sellers for no reason.
  7. I love it! Really cool design and great minifigures! I gotta say though, for all the details; no handrails on a flying city?
