  1. Awesome! The sails have a nice colour and especially the last shot looks extremely realistic I was only wondering, is the pennant in the right colours? Anyway, I can't wait to see the final result (which deserves a new thread IMO ).
  2. Yes it's a nice MOC indeed. Original design and I like how he did the sunset in the ship battle part.
  3. Ever thought of joining the Reviewers Academy? This is an excellent review of a great set. The photo-editing is good as well. I don't have this set but I agree that TLG should take a closer look at this one before they make new ships. It has some great features that seem to be lost in time. Anyway, thanks for the review. I'll put it in the index
  4. Awesome ship Nice shape and good use of colours. I think making the masts a bit taller would improve this ship. And the amount of sails is historically accurate except for the spritsail topsail. At least, I believe I've never seen that in combination with 3 jibs. I'd like to see more pictures of this ship. Perhaps it's easier in the future to deeplink your images. Here and here are tutorials. Thanks for sharing
  5. So much hatred! Okay I understand about that. So Juan Gorrión instead of Jack Sparrow would be horrible? Seems like you disagree with yourself. That's indeed the same reason why I like his minifig so much. But according to your comic, it seemed you rather liked the fleshies as well. Anyway, I tend to disagree with you because outside of the fleshies and some misprintings, this theme offers a huge variety of new parts and minifigs. I doubt if a new Classic-Pirates line would be possible to have so many new parts (and with so much detail). But I'm not saying the PotC line is better.
  6. Impressive! That's worth a blog! [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
  7. Yes indeed. Do you want me to change it? (and I think Barbossa himself would prefer to be called "captain" Barbossa )Anyway, nice comic. I like the idea and the editing, but the picture quality could be improved a little. This is my favourite minifig of the PotC series so you made a good choice to use him.
  8. It's indeed a very nice ship. The shape and colourscheme are good and the yards are placed in the right positions. I especially like the working gunport hatch on the stern On future ships you could indeed use 1x1 round bricks for yards, lower the forecastle a little bit, and use a bit more brown on the decks and details (IMO). But you did an excellent job here.
  9. Very nice! You're making good use of those legs This MOC is full of great techniques. The bird in the front (with 3 feather pieces) is a bit strange, but they are all clever. I also like the smoke on the left house more than the other one. And before I forget: [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
  10. Interesting. I can't see too much on the image, but the minifigs seem good. Although I wonder why Davy Jones is on the ship, his minifig looks great. It looks close to the game version. As for the Black Pearl, perhaps it's because it's so black, but I find the design quite boring and the mizzen mast seems very unstable. It may need another square sail there. But of course this is still preliminary. Thanks for sharing!
  11. Happy Birthday to both of you! (so many new smileys and not a single good party smiley..., well I think these ones come closest): May you get lots of presents, perhaps some PotC sets, and have a great day.
  12. I made a bird's eye view of the Vesta today. Perhaps it's useful for something.
  13. It's still a very nice ship Outside of the stern I can't spot many new things but it looks good, and of course this was mainly for the game
  14. It looks very good and profesionnal I must say I hope it's not too complicated for all our members, but I can't wait for the first round to see how this will develop.
  15. It's a good improvement compared to your previous version. Are you going for historical accuracy? In that case I think the stern could use a bit of work for example. Outside of that I think it's already quite accurate. It's a nice ship and right now the only advice I can give is to add more brown to it. Right now almost everything on the deck is black and on the picture the capstan (for example) is hardly visible. Good luck!
  16. Ah yes indeed! That means 150 more pm's to store=) Outside of that it doesn't mean much difference but I'm glad to have achieved it.

  17. It's a rather nice ship already. I like the colourscheme and especially the bell design. My only nitpicks are that on the stern view, the hull seems quite edgy where it hits the water. And I would place the cannons on the forecastle in a way that it 'checkers' with the cannons on the main gundeck. But overall it's a nice ship. Keep it up
  18. Well done. I'm sure this will look great with sails, a crew and perhaps a few more deck details like barrels, swivel guns. And a nice big flag to finish it Can't wait for the next update!
  19. It's a good story and well written, but I think it can be improved a little. IMO, it can use a bit more humor, and perhaps a slightly better clue or something strange or exceptional to happen. But overall it's a nice entry and I wish you good luck in the contest
  20. Nice one Original and funny. How many words did you use?
  21. I don't mind if this topic gets bumped again, but it's actually meant for posting and commenting on Redcoat vs. Bluecoat MOCs, so in the future, please use it for that purpose.
  22. Yeah very good one. Funny with those things like "dark bluish grey studs" and "considered using his scared face" I also think that somehow the story invites to be read with all those empty spaces between the sentences (if you get what I mean. It looks more digestable).
  23. Nazgarot, in the future please don't post twice after each other when there is no other post between them. Thank you (I've merged the posts this time).
  24. I think your first idea is the easiest, the fastest and the nicest way of doing this. Creating ships like the Vesta in LDD would indeed take ages, and I think some building techniques aren't even possible. And I think perhaps we should think of something to make this game look even more attractive (although it already looks better than the SW-game )
  25. Thank you for this good review! Unfortunately I don't have any of the right consoles for this game, but I'll try it on my brother's NDS. It's great that there are so many extras with the game. And according to the screenshots and trailers it seems to give you a good laugh as well. So anyway, I'm not sure when there's space on the blog again, but sooner or later this will be [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
