  1. That's a rather nice ship. I like the colourscheme and the number of guns seems well proportioned to the ship. I would base the shape and especially the mast/rigging more on real ships. Right now your ship can only carry a very small sail so you could make the mast and yards much longer. I also have to ask you to resize your pictures. Our limit is 800X600 pixels. If you don't know how to resize them, here's a tutorial.
  2. Agreed. It looks very clear to me. Perhaps you could separate steps 2 and 3 a bit better but personally, I didn't have any problems with it. It's actually more genious than I thought
  3. Done! I believe you could do it yourself though, or you need to have a certain amount of posts. You could try it by editing your first post, then click "use full editor" and it may be possible.
  4. It's great to see how many clever techniques can be put in such a small MOC. The clouds, the trees and the ship are all excellent. Well done
  5. Your fleet is becoming very impressive I believe this ship looks quite a lot like Ares, so there's not much wrong with it. I like all the red details on the deck, but the hatch shutter is perhaps a bit too much red. Maybe it looks better with some (red) headlight bricks there. The stern is also beautiful. You could only make the 1x1 round plates line (and maybe the windows) a bit curved like I did with Vesta's windows. I'm not sure about the red flowers over there, but I don't know what else to use. Perhaps just yellow. My final small tip is to make the red line on the sides a bit curved so it suits the curved yellow line better. Good luck!
  6. Great job Many brickflicks are a bit boring, but this one is not. There's motion all the way and the sounds are great too. I enjoyed all the strange weapons and things that ROBOphelia is using all the time. How the 'lights turned off' in Grabbor's eyes is very clever, but that's just one example of the many smart uses of parts in this movie. Well done!
  7. No. And certainly not those in partucular of course. But they could be available in online stores in the future, unless they only remain a rare special set which you can only get when you buy a more expensive one.
  8. Aalak has told you enough about the stern, so I can only add a small suggestion for improvement on the headrails. Many MOC'ers find that a very hard part to do, so it's no problem if it isn't perfect yet. I think a good reference picture is this one. So the headrails are running in a curve from the figurehead to the catheads and the forecastle. On your ship, I would remove the extra bow section just below the figurehead, and change the headrails a little. More like this: But then perhaps it looks even better if you would make the headrails a little shorter on the front and lower the figurehead a little bit. Just a suggestion though, you decide what to do with it Good luck anyway!
  9. It was a rather tough choice. I think the forestman and the musketeer are indeed not the kind of soldiers you'd put in an army. They are better in small groups or man to man. The viking and samurai are great too, but I find their outfit less special than of the elf and the Spartan. So in the end I had to choose between the Spartan and the elf. I chose spartan because I just like them more. And actually, you need only 300 of them, so you'll be finished at some time. The elf army would become bigger and bigger and very expensive. Or something like that. I couldn't choose so I though of a silly reason. But the Spartan it will be!
  10. I couldn't find them in this thread, so I'll post them here: Link to the instructions of set 30131 Jack Sparrow in a boat. Link to the instructions of set 30130 Mini Black Pearl. I'd like to have these if they go in the store for a few euros Especially the first one is good for building an army of Jack Sparrows (for the Davy Jones' locker scene).
  11. Looks excellent with those sails, and you also did a great job on the photo-editing. As I said I like the sails, but I do have a suggestion. It's a small ship, so it can be made very detailed. On the decks you already did that, but perhaps the sails could use a little more detail. As you can see on this picture, there are quite a lot of lines on the sails, and especially the horizontal ones are quite visible on most pictures. So you could perhaps draw some lines on it (maybe with pencil, like I did in my tutorial). It's just a suggestion though, and your clean look also has its charme. When you've really finished this ship, you can make a new thread of it and we'll blog it. Right now our blog is filled with all the PotC reviews so I won't blog this update. I hope you understand Good luck on the final touches!
  12. I think almost the same about this set as I think of the other sets. I don't find them very interesting in terms of contstruction, price or play value. But if I had the money, I'd bought most of the sets, but right now I think I'll just buy some seperate pieces when they are on BL. IMO, the most awesome thing of this PotC line is the new parts, and I really want those. Thanks for the review!
  13. At first it looked a bit simple, but when I looked closer I saw it is actually quite clever. Good job on the curtains and the whole structure around the stage. The helm with oversized horns are quite funny and so are the faces. Well done
  14. That's a great scene I like the round tower and the cranes. All the scenes going on are great too. I think my favourite picture is the one with the cannonball and the dim background. Artistic! Also good job on the landscape (water, sand foliage). My only tip is, when you have many green or blue parts, you could make more elevation in the green and perhaps SNOT water. But actually I don't have the right to complain as it's a very good MOC
  15. Good idea to make these. They look good, although I think most of them are a bit too armoured for sailors. Outside of that they are well-assembled. I especially like the ones on the 9th picture (the one-but-last).
  16. Except for the occasional complaints about price and pearl gold bars, I think this set is very good. It really has some special parts, is useful because of the redcoats. I especially like the redcoat officer because we didn't have a good officer uniform yet in the previous Pirates line. The ship painting is also very nice. I found it too bad that no one existed and created my own but it's great to have an official one now. Even though I won't buy this set (well, perhaps I will in the future), it has some good parts that I need to get one way or another Thanks for the review! Good one
  17. Beautiful! Well done so far I only think you should change the side windows a little. They are too simple and square IMO. I think it would look better if it were a bit more detailed, just like you did with the yellow sides of the stern. Outside of that you're doing good. Keep it up!
  18. They did indeed! Playing with magnets isn't very superhero-like. Anyway, I enjoyed your review, and although this isn't my favourite theme, this made me watch a short Batman film for perhaps the first time in my life. The film may have been a bit 'old' but somehow that's what made it funny. I'm also impressed by your penguin army! I think Batman wouldn't stand a chance against them. You're worthy of your review tag
  19. Thanks for the review so far! The bucket is one of my favourite parts of this set. I also like the use of a working capstan. The ship may not be very historically accurate, a capstan is a very nice feature and makes the ship more realistic. Things like the sword and a tan tricorne are nice as well, and I like the bottles a lot. I thougt there were only bottles with a ship print on it, but it's great to have a few "normal" ones as well. It's quite expensive, but there are a few awesome parts in it which I need to have. So I'll definitely buy some of them on Bricklink when they're available.
  20. Especially because of the price I didn't give it 5 points. But I gave four because the minifigs and the parts are really awesome! There's some great accesory in the set. I'd rather have shiny gold bars too, but still the bars are quite nice. The compass is also a great part IMO. One other thing that I don't really like is that all the torso's contain a bit of the flesh minifig colour. The torso's are great but unfortunately they can't be used on yellow minifigs very well. Anyway, it's [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp] -Thanks for the review!
  21. Nice MOC. All the grass and flowers make it look quite realistic. I would only suggest to place blue plates under the water next time so it doesn't have this greenish look. On the other hand, much water in or close to cities is quite green in reality Anyway, I also like the gorilla scene in the background. Good job
  22. Aalak has given you some great advice already. He has definitely learned a lot lately I agree that the captain's cabin looks to high, but if you make it lower, it may become too low for a minifig to stand inside. You could also make the rest of the ship a bit higher (if that's not too much work for you) so that you can also make the yellow line less edgy in the front. Bart is right about the bell, but the design is very good. Clever to use a telescope there. In the future you could also place tiles on the studded downside of the gunports. Guess that's enough advice for now. Good luck!
  23. Good to see some clear pictures this time As other people have said, this is a very original way of making a ship. She is perfectly camouflaged (except for the wide seas), so I think she would be good in surprise attacks on rivers with trees around it. I also like the sail made of leaves. Well done, and welcome to Eurobricks
  24. Beautiful! I think you came about as close as one can get this way to make it historically accurate It seems even more posable than normal minifigs, and especially the shield is clever designed.
  25. Thanks! An extra ration of rum for all of you! Can I exchange it for a croissant?
